Trying to make the game less of a farmfest, that's my guess.
Look at the Dominion game - supports kind of have little place there, because that mode is centered on small 1v1, 2v2, or 3v3 skirmishes.

I don't see how nerfing supports solves that problem. Hell, there's still an entire spot in the metagame dedicated to a team member who farms neutral minions so top can farm BETTER.

Dominion also has a 20% global healing reduction (lifesteal, sustain, etc.)

A mid range semi-long point and click stun, a spammable AoE wave skill, a sweet damage increasing aura that increased damage by 36%, and then Urgot's ult, except on roids. At its best you had it every 10 seconds, it could swap allies AND enemies, AND stopped channels just 'cause. Basically aggressive support instead of "lulz permahealz".

PS: Also, the name was Vengeful Spirit, sorry. My bad!

Nerfing supports reduces sustainability. Reducing sustainability means you can't just heal right up after taking a lot of damage, which means things will move at a faster pace.

Or something like that.

It means you have to also choose when to heal at the right time instead of just being able to spam it.

Yes.
You have never played against a team including Nidalee and Alistar. Kind of ridiculous.

I cannot tell you how many times, as Nidalee, I have saved teammates in teamfights and they ended up living, simply because I healed them for 600 damage when the enemy wasn't expecting it.

Healing is huge. Most healers can only heal a little bit at a time, so they spam it a lot to make healing build up.

Frankly, I never build Mejais on any damage dealer except Katarina.

Mejais is a staple in my Sona builds, as well as my other supports, though.

Hourglass can be useful if your game is close enough that people might be putting in the effort to dive through your team to get to you in team fights.

Lich Bane wouldn't be bad for a newer Lux player if the other team has only melee.

Morello's is the only CDR item I ever buy on Lux, if even.

I go Doran's -> Boots -> Doran's -> Sorc Shoes -> Mejai's -> Rabadon's -> Void Staff -> Lich Bane religiously. HGR cuts out the second Doran's and the mejai's.

People who tell you that are dumb. Also you don't want more than one doran's unless the enemy team is diving you literally all game. It's not a comeback item on lux.

I love Caitlyn, and I love her skins (she's the only AD ranged carry with consistently good skins), and I wish I could buy her, but since I already have MF, Ashe, and Sivir, I just can't justify it to myself.

I wasn't being completely serious with the stacking of Deathcaps.

It's generally good to get a defensive item. Ergo, I build Zhonya's, or Banshee Veil/Abyssal Scepter.

Abyssal's aura is a bit hard to justify when you're playing Lux though.

yeah the items after deathcap are all 'suboptimal' in some sense

-void staff is definitely the go-to option against mr but you sometimes get bad teams that don't build any at all
-paying for defense on hourglass is often a waste. when i get this item i find that i almost never have reason to use the active unless my teammates are all dead/dying already. maybe if they really feel like diving for you.
-lich bane is nice for damage but you need to get into autoattack range to use it effectively. i buy this all the time in pubs anyway since the enemy team generally isn't capable of punishing me for getting into auto range.
-tome is viable if you have no other source of cdr, but if you're going with a soulstealer or something it becomes redundant.
-abyssal is okay but the aura isn't always where you want it to be and you're paying quite a bit for the mr

just feel your way around the situation (personally i'm usually lazy and just build the void staff most of the time as kind of a pre-emptive measure, but it's not always the best buy). oh, and elixirs are good too.

I immediately bought him after that game. I think the other team just sucked immensely though, because I suck at DotA and probably this too.

Maokai is a champion I really want to play more, but he's a 6300 (why do I fall in love with the expensive guys), and I'm really just not tuned on him. I love his moveset, but it certainly doesn't come naturally to me like Nidalee's or Galio's does.
