Just saw what looked like an enormous bird chilling on top of one of the anti-air batteries...but day time came and it disappeared before I got a good look.

Heading into the first dungeon now, just spent over an hour exploring/questing/etc.

Getting back to this. I am getting worked in the cave. I went in at level six, got smoked, quested until I hit level 9, got slightly less smoked. The last time in was totally my fault, though. I have to do a better job healing.

yeah I went from 11 to 13 in that cave and it's not even that long. Enemies gave more EXP than I was expecting

5 or so hours in and a bunch of s*** just went down.

I know it's early but unless the story somehow gets really boring later on this is going to be one of the best games I've ever played. I agree with SHINE that "best jrpg of this gen" probably won't do this game justice.

This song is so f***ing awesome, starting around :55

I thought that song was great on the OST but it makes some of these cut scenes so much better. These are scenes I'm going to be rewatching on youtube in the years to come.

Even though I'll probably never play the game (sold my otherwise useless Wii a while back), I've been a cheerleader of Xenoblade for so long, and those sales figures bring a tear to my eye.

And if what you all are saying about the game is true- best RPG of the generation, past ten years, etc.- I may have to consider reinvesting in a Wii again!

Good to know.

As much as I'd love to play this game now that RPG fans seem to be raving about it, I'm still going to hold off on it for now. Not necessarily out of hope that NoA will finally buckle and release the game, but I just want to wait until the price lowers (and I need to save up my money for "Shut up and take my money" November).

Hmm, the positions on sales charts for Amazon and Game and places after the first day imply that it may well do better than the article says. In addition to being top seller on Amazon France, in software sales it's only behind Zumba in the UK (and Battlefield 3 and Deus Ex 3, but those don't count!).

Argh, I don't get it, I'm playing a different file for me on the same one numbers has, but in my playthrough, it freezes the game constantly. Three times in under half an hour, one of them literally only allowed me to get into two fights from my save point before crapping out. It only ever froze once for numbers, and he's got like ten times the playtime!

Seems what happens is the music just suddenly stops (but ambient noise continues), and then every character will disappear, then if you try and open a menu or talk to someone or do any action but move, it instantly freezes.
