If the primary damage dealer would like to spend all day running from Singed then that's as good as losing the carry.

Almost no carry can get away from Singed effectively.

Or it can just not run and kill your team faster than Singed is killing it. Singed's damage with no AP is not really that high and his CC is only strong if people are already out of position to some extent.

I'm not saying build Singed pure AP or anything but the 80 RoA gives you goes a long way as his poison gas and fling get very good returns on AP.

I still say the biggest part of playing Singed well is making the enemy team think they can kill you-- and that glowing Banshee's Veil aura pretty much says "do you know who I am I'm the juggernaut *****" or some other such quote from 2 years ago. Only worth it early if they've got enough hard cc to stop you and your carry at the same time I'd say. Otherwise you just eat the chain stun after you slow their team, survive, and say "yeah I did good"

The problem is if they stay in a position to kill the opposing team, then fling is going to in fact put them in a bad position. There is no position where you can be in range to own an opposing team and still not be crapped on by a fling.

They either kill a team member that is out of position or they kill you if you went too far to get them. And if they're a burst AP carry they can absolutely drop their load and then flash away before you fling them into death. Or flash in and drop it and then run. Or whatever. Some AD carries like Ashe can do this with enchanted crystal arrow + volley too. Or others like Vayne can just get away from you with the rolling and crap.

The difference is your carry is actually getting properly neutralized by a tank that has real CC.

I mean yeah I'm not saying singed is 100% ignorable without AP-- but I do think that the ideal strategy is to ignore him if he has no AP and Veil encourages that as well. I also think that a singed that is getting less CC shot at him is not doing his job as well and I don't see it too often that a team will make a point to break a veil on Singed unless they're bad or they have a metric ton of CC in which case I say absolutely buy veil.

I'm sure you'll die less with Banshee's Veil but I think your team will lose more teamfights in general. At least that's my experience with Singeds who build Banshee's first.

But if we're playing with bads at a low level they see an enemy and go "LEMME USE MY ABILITIES ASAP" and barely even pay attention to see if you have a BV or not. "Ignoring a champion" works poorly when bads are playing.


Also, lane with Blitzcrank if you can. Blitz grabs them to you (stand next to him), then you fling them back into your tower. So good.

Well, I am unsure what to say Lopen. I mean I main Ashe and I have rarely been able to escape an Ulted Singed. Also if Ashe has to use her Ult defensively then that's really bad.

Riot is planning on nerfing Singed in some way (or I assume they are because Shurelia commented on how he is OP).

Singed isn't just amazing at screwing over carries, but his ability to farm and get items combined with his passive makes him offensive, defensive, fast, and farmed.

Singed with no AP doesn't have the damage to kill you with any sort of quickness unless you built no defense at all even then it's iffy. 70 damage a second pre MR + singed swatting you is pretty tame dps.

Also if you built veil he can't even fling you.

I mean basically by the time you build defense on Ashe (2nd or 3rd item) Singed will have his AP already from another item. I don't see how you think an AD Carry will have defense before Singed gets some sort of AP.

singed's ability to farm means he probably has banshee's/roa and rylai's by the time you get any substantial amount of MR

and then the rylai's makes your MR moot because you literally can't escape

Well there are hardly any "100%' scenarios really, I am sure FD himself could find situations where RoA is more useful than BV. When FD talks about this stuff he is mostly giving his personal experience and general advice. There are no builds that are concrete, otherwise they would not always be optimal.

FD goes based on what the team needs. If he needs the Rylai's for the slow and little bit of AP, he'll get it. If not, his team probably doesn't need it.

No what I'm saying is if the enemy team is dumping their CC on you you're doing your job as the tank anyway unless they have a ton of it, Banshee's discourages that which is bad, and if they don't dump CC on you RoA is going to be the stronger buy.

Really your Ult's CC reduction + tenacity + summoner's spells + your w should get you through even the scenarios where you get CC spammed to the point where you're not useless, and they just threw a bunch of CC at the tank so you're probably going to win the team fight anyway in these scenarios.

What ends up happening is BV causes their Ashe to think they are clever and pop your Veil with a volley but then when they dump their CC on you, you have lots of MR to handle it and continue to wreck their crap.

You can get the same scenario to happen with RoA->Force of Nature though. But without the need for the enemy ashe to think they're clever and pop your veil. Early game you're not going to need the MR anyway with your huge hp. 2000 hp doesn't get bursted down before the second item without like a chain of ults in which case "you did your job" as I said.

Really if they're reliably throwing useless stuff at you to pop the BV you have to wonder what the point is anyway. If you want MR FoN is better cause you've already got a good hp base since you lead off with RoA, also the bonus movespeed helps Singed.

Although that does illustrate something very well: I guess the one problem with starting RoA is it limits your options a bit. Against almost every teamcomp you need a MR item of some sort to not crumple. So you're going to need to buy a negatron cloak at the very least, whereas against most teamcomps the BV will be enough on the MR front and you have more freedom.

Which is probably why FD prefers it since he's all about freedom.

You don't actually need to get more than the negatron after the RoA though to not fold. That's only 740 gold so it's not really a huge deal.

Eh. I once had like the perfect comp of Ashe (me)/Singed/Janna/Annie/Trundle, only for Singed to want to jungle, Trundle to want to lane, and Janna go AP offense. We actually won that game because Annie got super fed, but I feel your pain.

my experience is that Morgana has a better mid lane than Annie right now.

Her spell shield and spell vamp allow her to mid against pretty much every AP carry. Once she hits five she's guaranteed half of every minion wave at least and it's really easy to get the entire wave against most champs.

She's very offensively oriented, but she does have a simple defensive move. You'll want to buy as much AD as humanly possible though.

I don't know about Glass Melee Carry though. No one's really going to approach Master Yi/Tryndamere levels of damage for a while.

Dammit, I want another support character. There are only four pure supports.
