Random TEW related thing. I've started playing this 1987 mod. It's kinda neat, it has all the wrestlers like, you know, young like they would be back then (with pics to match). And all these old defunct feds like UWF and GLOW. The user avatars in particular I got a kick out of. Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of them... so I made Running Man Pro Wrestling built entirely around having Arnold Schwarzegger squash everyone. Started at 0 popularity everywhere... pulling out mighty show ratings of 55 (pretty good considering Schwarzenegger is the only guy on my roster with over 40 over) and slowly clawing up to small. I'm not sure why this is amusing to me but I guess it's the same thing Dante gets out of booking a fed where Sheamus squashes everyone.

I'll get back to TNA tomorrow probably but just thought I'd share.

He gets no respect and no opportunities around here. He has to take them. If that means he has to take out one of the best wrestlers on the planet, so be it. He has Bryan's attention now, he has the fans' attention, and he has management's attention. Chavo is going to fight Bryan, and he's going to win and show the world. Bryan comes out to say that all Chavo needed to do for a match is just ask! It may not be personal to Chavo, but sneak attacks mean it's personal to Bryan. He accepts the challenge.

The Rock thinks it's time that Awesome Truth shut their mouth and know their role before he takes Mr. Laurinitis, shines him up real nice, and proceeds in a predictable and PG-13 fashion!

A solid match, with both men getting near-falls. Miz comes out to ringside to support his buddy, and grabs Rock's foot when he goes for the People's Elbow! The distraction allows Truth to recover, and he's able to pick up the win as a result!

FROM THE BOOKER

-Usually, I find myself having to pad shows out to fill the time. This was one of those rare instances where I couldn't advance all the storylines as much as I wanted to, and actually wound up having to CUT things. :\ I wanted Haas and Barrett promos in there, and maybe some sorta Bryan/Chavo match.

-I maybe should look into rotating Matthews off the SD team, but....ehhhh. My options for PBP are JR (who I want on Raw with KANG), Cole (who...is Cole, and also only has two points on Matthews), and Stanford (who is not too great). Matthews has good chem with Book, too, so I guess he can stay for now...but I am not enjoying taking hits on my ME's.

-The old guys can GO. I am quite pleased. Rock doesn't appear to have rust at all, and Taker's still Taker. Is it cheesing to have them appearing every week and wrestling more often than not? Certainly. Is that going to stop me? Apparently not!

-Really hoping that I can get Chavo AND Bryan over with this program.

-Abyss and the Fallen Angel emerged victorious over Hernandez and Shelley in a surprisingly good match, bringing Xplosion up to a quite respectable 68.

-It was a big night for title changes, as Ishimori and Morishima captured the GHC Tag Titles from KENTA and Nakajima.

-CZW's Blaze of Glory saw two belts change hands: Joe Gacy took the world title off of Devon Moore, and Sami Callahan won the Jr. Heavyweight strap in a triple threat.

-Undaunted by their loss of TV coverage, FCW soldiered on with a solid show built around Sid and Andy Leavine.

-EVOLVE have picked up Allison Danger, and RCW have fired MsChif.

-FCW continues to turn things around with The Struggle Within. It featured a downright watchable Leavine/Finlay main event, as well as the newly minted Team Life (Titus O'Neill and Trent Barreta) capturing the tag titles.

We open the show with Sting in the ring going over the progress of the TNA team challenge, complete with cheap Ultimate Warrior infested graphic. Bobby Roode comes out and says he wants his match tonight. Sting gives it to him, but says James Storm is banned from ringside! (88)

Winter d. Hamada to retain (70) (poor chemistry-- yet still a 70 I'm impressed) Jeff Hardy says that Kendrick is his official disciple... he shall do recruitment battles for the team now. While they're talking, there's a clap of thunder and a flash of light, X-Pac staggers out from the backstage area, looking bewildered, wearing an nWo t-shirt (while the announcers argue about whether he can wear that on TNA). He shouts "Nash? Punk? Where the hell am I?" and Jeff orders Kendrick to fight him or Jeff will throw the team match. Kendrick goes at him (69) Kendrick d. X-Pac to recruit him. (58)

AJ Styles is in the ring getting ready for his match. But that's not Bobby Roode's music! The devious UltraMantis Black comes out, shouting nonsense about "The Order" and how he has come from parts unknown to destroy AJ Styles and TNA once and for all! AJ Styles shakes his head and says that Daniels doesn't need to dress in this absurd getup to get another match with him. Ultramantis Black is appalled and starts to explain that he's not Daniels and is far greater than Daniels ever was! He begins to go into a diatribe about his feats but is escorted out by security due to Daniels no longer being employed by TNA, arguing about his identity and shouting stuff like "you'll pay for this!" the whole while. (72) AJ Styles d. Bobby Roode to retain. but is worse for wear afterwards (76)

Before AJ gets out of the ring, Mr. Anderson says he's choosing to face AJ Styles for his team recruitment battle tonight. Sting comes out and says he can't do that but Anderson explains that Sting said last week that they can challenge whoever they want. Styles staggers to his feet, says he'll beat his ass, and even put up his title, and shouts "come get some, Anderson!" (88) Styles keeps it surprisingly competitive as Anderson works Styles's injured ribs throughout the match. Anderson has victory in his grasp several times but keeps letting AJ recover, seemingly enjoying the pain Styles is in. AJ wins with a small package. (70) After the match, you guessed it, Angle and Joe beat down Styles again. Sting tries to stop them and is also beaten down! (86)

Austin Aries d. Shannon Moore to retain, seemingly bored (65) RVD and Robbie E are walking backstage. RVD says to himself he's gotta do something desperate to make up for this and gives Robbie E a look. He enters Sting's office and tells Sting he's going to challenge Jeff Hardy for the team battle tonight. Sting who clearly isn't paying attention grants his request and waves him off. Robbie E rubs his chin, and then requests that he be the new TV champion due to Eric Young abandoning it for over a month-- Sting grants his request and waves harder, holding his head. Robbie E fist pumps and gloats to RVD about his title. (60)

After the break, back in Sting's office Jarrett and VC Compton are droning about finance, Dinero rushes in, groggy, and shouts he needs a match now and Sting says now that Jarrett is employed again he can fight him-- now everybody get out! (73)

The Pope d. Jeff Jarrett to recruit him to his team. (68) RVD d. Jeff Hardy to recruit him to his team... but Jeff Hardy already has a team so the announcers are all like "what does this mean!?" as the show ends. (80)

Heh. Watching his youtube interviews is what got me to kinda!sorta start paying attention to Chikara. I really should go back through them again and reacquaint myself, and see what he's been doing for the past year.

Some quite understandable traps...La Parka is not anywhere near Slater's league, at least not yet, and nWo really needed a boost given the caliber of competition their headliners are going to be facing at the PPV. GTM has a rough time of things and slips almost out of the picture, and numbers misses again. eddv surges into dark horse territory on the wings of a perfect bonus pick, and Dante gets a tiny leg up on the rest of the front pack. Still pretty intense!

Well unlike Robbie E UMB actually has pretty decent stats that aren't overness so he's not going to tank segments too bad even if no one knows who the hell he is. I just wish he didn't have a head that's in poor condition for some reason.

Though to be fair to Robbie E though my strategy of "give him matches during the dark segment and on the b-show, then send him to Ring Ka King for 5 days before calling him back up" has been helping his stats quite a bit-- he's upped like everything by 3 and his entertainment stats by 6 in just 3 weeks. If I didn't know better I'd think he has high potential.
