He's literally one show away from the second week, and I felt like booking, so.

Impact Week 2 Jan 2012

SHOWTIME:

Sting is out to start the show again... incoherently babbling about Kurt Angle... then Kurt shows up to the arena with Joe! He gets stopped by security, but Sting orders them to let them in! Kurt says tonight he'll grace Impact with a title defense, but only on his terms... he's been scouring the globe and he's going to fight real talent... the Japanese superstar, from NJPW, Kota Ibushi! He points to the front row where Kota Ibushi is in attendance. Sting begrudingly allows it (72)

Glacier says he and Anderson are going to have to work to be noticed in the tag division. He has a plan... Anderson doesn't seem interested as we cut to a match (51) AJ Styles d. X-Pac. X-Pac tries to call for "the band" during the match but no one shows much to X-Pac's disappointment (82)

Robbie E is backstage with Big Stevie Ray, and says tonight they're gonna do a parody of the Scorpion King just like his bro did back in the day, to get under The Lethal Warrior's skin. Stevie Ray says he's not doing it because his paycheck bounced. Robbie E says it'll be okay and convinces him to at least come to the ring again. (45) Robbie E vs Lethal Warrior ends in a time limit draw after Stevie Ray randomly rings the bell after 10 minutes have passed. Robbie E says that TV title matches have a 10 minute time limit-- didn't you all watch WCW? (70)

Matt Morgan and Val Venus d. The Old Age Outlaws. Morgan is in a ridiculous looking karate gi shouting "GLACIER!" the whole match, while he dominates without tagging. (53)

Winter is in the ring with Angelina Love. She says that a higher purpose has been defined for the knockouts title, and that to attain it, the TNA woman's division must be united under one banner. She pulls out an exact replica of the KO title and gives one to Angelina, and says from now on, Angelina too will defend the title, and act as the enforcer that would punish all who would doubt its glory. Starting tonight. (71) Angelina Love d. Ayako Hamada to retain the Knockouts Title... I guess? After the match Winter speaks to Hamada, shakes her hand, and pulls out another Knockouts Title. Hamada nods a lot and is led backstage while the the Boogie Knights argue about how well she can understand English. (71) (great chemistry!)

Backstage, Jeff Jarrett and VC "Cliff" Compton are with Kota Ibushi trying to hype him up for his match and giving him pointers. Jarrett does a swinging motion and hands him a guitar and Compton does a punch motion and hands him knucks. The Boogie Knights again argue whether the guy can speak English. (56) Tara bursts into Sting's office and says she deserves a Knockouts Title shot but Sting is completely out of it and ignores her entirely (59)

Austin Aries is in the ring and says the most prestigious title in the company is right here, so come and get it. He calls out RVD, Jeff Hardy, and Raven. It's a four way! (70) Aries d. Raven to retain when RVD and Hardy end up brawling out of the arena (78)

(51) Backstage, Ultramantis Black has an interview where he explains to the accursed Hemme that this "Daniels" nonsense has become a thorn in his side... he'll prove he's not Daniels, by exposing the real one who LURKS AMONG US. He will unmask Suicide, and show that it's really Daniels under that mask, not his! HAHAHAHA! Christy tries to point out that it'd be easier for him to just unmask but gets a "SILENCE HEMME" and a lecture on being properly devious for her efforts. (62)

Beer Money draw the MCMG to retain the tag titles as the match is thrown out when Glacier's music hits and he makes an entrance, completely disrupting the match! Mr. Anderson hops the rails and bludgeons everyone with a chair (82) Beatdown and entrance continue a bit, cause Anderson is TWISTED (62)

Kurt Angle d. Kota Ibushi to retain in a match where the Japanese challenger looks very competent but can't quite get it done. Jarrett and VC "Cliff" Compton try to interfere to help Ibushi, but AJ Styles comes down and stops them...? (85) Sting comes out laughing madly mumbling something and stares down Angle nose to nose... and Angle taunts him to his face as the show fades to black. (88)

Also apparently it doesn't matter at all where you run TV shows except for attendance, unless you're running them somewhere that doesn't have TV viewership of you. I've been running in the Tri-State for the last month so I cheated and looked in the data editor and my tri-state hasn't gone up any relative to the rest of the US and I've probably been slightly tanking show ratings by running them outside of the South East :/

Both Raw and SD this week get 78-- let's see if Tom can beat them!

Backstage, Willie Mack talks up Colt Cabana, saying that since the Sheikh just forfeited the title, Cabana should totally be champ. Colt smiles and says he has a great idea.(30)

He then challenges Adam Pearce, saying that since they were the last two champs, they should give the FANS what they want and have a great match for the title. Rasche Browns music hits and its time for their match. (43)

Rasche Brown vs. Colt Cabana
Colt and Rasche are evenly matched for much of the match, but Adam Pearce comes down and slugs Cabana, allowing Rasche to hit the Burning Hammer and get the win.(37)

I did do some HEAVY customization to get the fed the way i wanted it. running 90% matches wasnt going to be fun for me.

SID!!! A few of you know that for FWA I unintentionally ran a show centered around Sid due to talent raids. This went surprisingly well, and once the fed gets its legs under it I plan to do it again.

The storylines note was inevitable because im not really happy with the talent I have and its going to take a little bit to get the talent i want and I dont want to run half-assed stories. Though I guess a few unchained in the meantime is reasonable.

Every single match had the note " matches did not have enough dangerous spots" so I need to figure out how to fix that

I just made a women's title, and am in the process of acquring some female talent, but i totally didnt even check t osee who held the NWA title, was surprised when I saw it was vacant.


If you have a pet indy guy you want me to include, let me know while im still in hiring mode!

Preshow: Hawaiin Lion and Navajo Warrior lose the Tag titles to a debuting NEW HEADSHRINKERS- Manu and Matu A'noi (43) Paul Burchill and Jay Lethal fight over the microphone trying to debut (48)

This leads to our opening bout between

Paul Burchhill vs. Jay Lethal

It is a back forth bout, but Jay and Paul both botch a lot and don't work well together. Jay eventually hit the DDT for the win (42) (Burchhill and Lethal Poor Chemistry)

Cabana vs. Pearce
Next we have our scheduled Title bout between Colt Cabana and Adam Pearce. The crowd is hot for Cabana and he comes out with a full head of steam. Cabana cant put Pearce away however, and Pearce tries to run away. Cabana chases him down and the two of them brawl into the back. Senior official Mike Knox is in the ring and keeps counting to 10, resulting in a draw.

The boss of the company comes out ,rocking out to Generic rock andwearing sweatpants and a sloppy shirt., It is VINCE RUSSO and he looks obviously perturbed. He shows footage from last weeks show where the overly nice and saccharine Gail Kim beats Allison Danger. He goes on a very long winded rant bout how all women are WHOOAHS and at least Allison Danger admits it. Russo announces that he'll be hiring more WHOOAHS to come and beat the crap out of Gail Kim, and that there will be an 8 woman tournament for a new title.... not that he'll need the 6 new girls. Allison Danger is gonna beat her up next now that she knows whats coming!( 47)

Gail Kim vs. Melina

Gail trots out skipping and giving away candy to kids in the front row and hugs the time keeper and referee and even tries to hug Allison. Allison uses this to her advantage and gets out to an early lead in the fight. But gail just keeps smiling and blowing kisses at the crowd until she tricks Allison into position for the Octopus stretch. Allison quickly taps.

Sid comes out and talks about how no one in the NWA can even hope to challenge him. he will treat them all like his opponent whats his name from last week, who was taken to a hospital and will never return to hollywood. For SID is the MASTER and the RULER of the WORLD, much less the NWA. Daffney comes out and starts laughing hysterically. She says if Sid wants to take her to the hospital shed go anytime. She has lots of friends in the psych ward. Sid looks worried and challenges her to an impromptu Stretcher match. (74)
Daffneys- Scheming Psycho gimmic debuts at 95(!)

Sid and Daffney work surprisingly well together and put on a 20 minute intense classic that was even a little TOO intense for our crowd here in Sacremento. It ends when Daffney attempts a Lobotomy but can't lift Sid. He return the favor by giving her the big boot into the ambulance and shutting the door on her head. (54)

Notes from Eddv-

I was a little disappointed in that Main Event because I thought they'd draw a better rating than that, but i guess I punched the danger up a bit too high in my attempt to correct last week's error. Oh well, I have high hopes.

I went on a shopping spree and once thing settle out and i figure out who I want to use regularly I'll be golden.

I will probably in the future try to use this set up:

Two of the following three:
Tag, women, TV title

NWA title and Sid's weekly match.

Next week I will probably quietly take the TV title off of Scorpio Sky and put in on one of my new midcarders in the dark match while I put the tag stuff on TV.

I have a pool of pretty good female talent post shopping spree, plus Allison Danger and Candice LeRae werent bad. Buggy is ridiculously bad, but shes 19 so I'll see if i can do something with her.

Tony Scarpone is not in this mod but I did find chris bishop and he has an over of exactly 0. Decent skillset though. He could be a jobber,

I am contemplating some kind of way to engage the readers but I got nothing so far.

My solution to the "need more storylines" note in the mindless Arnold fed was to make an "Arnold Schwarzenegger is Unstoppable" storyline that was to just a bunch of wins for Arnold over random people with (ironically) Sid Vicious eventually stopping it. Pretty sure there's a default storyline that goes like that. The great part is I always evolve it (into the exact same storyline) before Sid actually wins... but someday, man, he'll get his win. <_<

Also haha at Daffney vs Sid main event/set-up for it. That they somehow have good chemistry and made a watchable match out of it makes it even more great.

-Alright, plans are confirmed. I can OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCE that the prize will be picking somebody to participate in a program with whatever that hype video was for. You can pick anybody on the roster, although I'd appreciate it if you could hold off on the people for whom I obviously have plans. (Cena, Rock, Taker, RR Winner) For 99% of the roster, getting picked will result in a fairly decent push and spotlight going all the way up to Mania, and most people would get a guaranteed WM match out of the deal as well. It'll obviously be different based on who's picked, but about the only constant is that "this will be a semi-major WM program starting right after the RUmble."

-I did most of this show half-asleep! :D I will be curious to see how obvious that is once I get a chance to look at it while awake.
