NXT Wk. 4 Nov. 11 SLIGHTLY LESS HALFASSED BUT STILL RETYPED VER.

Pre-show: Sheffield squashed Tajiri (52); Usos d. Otungacutty (59)

-Match: SONJAY DUTT (w/ LA PARKA) v. ABRAHAM WASHINGTON (w/ CHAVO GUERRERO)
Washington doesn’t appear to be taking this very seriously, but is able to hold his own anyway. “Clean Cut” Sonjay Dutt is in trouble when Parka randomly clocks Washington with a chair for the DQ.
Rating: 16

-Dreamer’s music hits, but he doesn’t show. We find out he’s busy working at Sunglass Hut tonight, so we need a replacement Pro. BRYAN volunteers! He’s now the Pro of...XAVIER WOODS.
Rating: 69

-Match: XAVIER WOODS (w/ DANIEL BRYAN) v. EDDIE EDWARDS (w/ MORDECAI)
Edwards looks very good here, although he seems quite relient on Mordecai’s barked orders.
Rating: 17

-CM PUNK is out to the ring, and is thrilled to introduce COLT CABANA as his Rookie! Punk seems to be assuming Colt will join the nWo, which Colt himself doesn’t seem to want, but they’re good buds so the whole “opposite alignment” thing will PROBABLY be fine right?
Rating: 75

-Match: SECOND CITY SAINTS v. HEATH SLATER and CAP’N PETEY WILLIAMS
Nobody’s really sure why Petey Williams is a pirate, but Slater plays along. As the only face in the match, Cabana gets the win.
Rating: 56

-WADE BARRETT is out with SHAWN DAIVARI. They cut a promo about xenophobic Americans holding them down, but together they will DOMINATE.
Rating: 73

-Match: SETH ROLLINS (w/ BIG SHOW) v. SHAWN DAIVARI (w/ WADE BARRETT)
Rollins is very focused, in contrast to the lovable Giant. Intense match, but Daivari eventually pulls it out.
Rating: 51

-Match: Bryan/Show/Parka v. Barrett/Chavo/Mordecai
Faces win!
Rating: 63

Post-show: Bryan cuts a promo about heck if I remember (67); Gabriel d. Dibiase (40)

Wow those match ratings are something. I've gotten better out of Linda McMahon and Donald Trump.

Linda and Trump actually have some degree of popularity! And it's WWE, so yeah, that is gonna get better scores than the ultimate indy *****1/2 showdown. On top of that, 6/8 of the Rookies are openers or enhancement talent, which means that if they're on opposite sides of a match from each other, the match gets a pretty stiff penalty on top of how mediocre it was already gonna be. So yeah, we're going to be seeing a lot of those kinds of ratings and/or a bunch of ROOKIE V. PRO SHOWDOWNS. And Daivari and Rollins since they're the LMC guys.

Well my product was 50-50 on popularity and performance and their opponent was MsChif who has a pretty low over but yeah. I'm just pretty shocked that it went that low.

The enhancement vs enhancement penalty I hadn't considered though.

It's a pretty big consideration- look at how much better Rollins/Daivari did than the other pure Rookie matches. There's not THAT much of a pop or talent gap between them.

I think you can adjust their pushes to lower midcard to avoid those penalties to be fair. I think the only drawback is it makes them get more likely to whine about not being on the card (and prevents them from getting "well executed squash" bonuses). But since you'll have them on NXT every week that won't come up.

By the way Tom answer this it matters as I might change the bonus q answer

Team Laurinaitis is Awesome Truth/Punk and two of Masters/Nash/X-Pac right?

Haha holy crap this game is the best

I decided to hire Alex Wright as the third man to replace Schiavone because I was hoping for positive chemistry with Tenay or Disco because Disco and Alex Wright as 2/3 of the announce team is amazing, and Mike Tenay has great chemistry with Alex Wright as well! Shame Disco and Wright don't have chemistry for the chemistry trifecta but whatever, it's still great. (yes that means I have a show in the wings that just needs a write-up but I just thought that was too awesome to not say right now)

NEWSWIRE

-Impact scored an impressive 78 thanks in no small part to an Angle/Devon barnburner.

-RCW has picked up Disco Inferno, presumably for some sort of backstage role.

-Michael Hayes continues to accumulate backstage heat, apparently taking a rib of Randy Orton a bit too far.

SMACKDOWN
Wk. 4, Nov. ‘11

Pre-show: Rock hosts a bikini contest (68); Mordecai d. Zeke (55); CENA shows up to hear Rock’s response to his invitation! (92)

-Match: Orton v. Bryan v. Chavo v. Barrett
We have two Survivor Series matches rolled into one tonight, and somehow, despite it being booked in kayfabe by Teddy Long and in reality by Tombolo, it’s NOT a tag match! All four men get their spots in a heated brawl. An RKO sends Barrett out of the ring, but Chavo hits a beautiful top rope missile dropkick on Orton! He covers, but only gets two before Bryan breaks up the pinfall. Bryan clotheslines Chavo over the top, but turns into an RKO....but slips out! Bryan grabs Orton from behind and hits a suplex....and does a kicky thing...wait a second, he’s using the Three Amigos! Bryan totally rips off Chavo’s finisher, and gets a three count with it, on Randy Orton no less!
Rating: 70

-Bryan looks pretty pleased with himself, but has no time to say YES before getting blindsided by a furious Chavo! Chavo hits some offense and then locks in the LaBelle Lock!
Rating: 76

-Match: Tajiri v. Husky
Sadly, this is Tajiri’s last match with us for the time being at least, and thus he is fated to get squashed particularly hard this time.
Rating: 52

-Match: Yoshi v. Brodus
Brodus tosses Yoshi around like a rag doll, but Yoshi manages to hang on until opportunity presents itself to win with a ROLLUP!
Rating: 60

-Cody is not at all impressed by Yoshi. Yoshi won with a freakin’ rollup! Cody’s upcoming win will be MUCH more impressive.
Rating: 69

-Match: Usos v. Cody
The IC champ does indeed look impressive as he gets a handicap win over the poor Usos.
Rating: 54

-Haas wants to explain something. He’s a tag team specialist. He may not have his partner of choice with him this time, but he’s still the world’s greatest tag team wrestler, and once he finds a suitable partner, he’s going after the tag titles! Hopefully tonight will go well.
Rating: 64

-Match: Hart Dynasty v. Hass and Young
Nope.
Rating: 50

-HHH is backstage with Taker! HHH knows he and Taker don’t really see eye to eye after the whole trying to kill each other at Wrestlemania thing. However, there’s something afoot bigger than even either of them. This Sunday, the fate of the entire WWE hangs in the balance, and Undertaker is the one sob tough enough to fill out the Team WWE roster! Is he going to stand idly by and let Laurinitis and Awesome Truth and the nWo run roughshod over this company? Is he going to stand for this and let a bunch of young upstarts take over the place? Is he going to take that from them? Taker glares menacingly at HHH before quietly proclaiming that they will Rest In Peace.
Rating: 92

-Match: Cara/AJ v. Carlito/Natalya
Pretty back and forth match, but some Sin Cara II interference turns into the deciding factor.
Rating: 54

-Sheamus is TIRED of all this! He wants to settle things once and fer all with Christian! They have a tag match tonight, but he wants Christian one on one at Survivor Series to settle everything! Christian comes out and scoffs, claiming he’s proved what he wanted to prove- that he’s better. He has no reason to fight Sheamus again!
Rating: 81

-Match: Sheamus/Show v. Henry/Christian
The champ gets a ton of offense in, but can’t quite manage to keep the faces down. Christian, however, manages to sneak in a quick low blow from the outside, allowing a WSS on Sheamus to seal the deal.
Rating: 82
Henry/Christian poor chem

-Christian grabs a mic and says that, since he DID rather enjoy helping demolish the Celtic Warrior, maybe they CAN have that match after all! He drops the mic on his fallen adversary and laughs his way backstage.
Rating: 87

-Match: Rock and Ryder v. Awesome Truth
Pretty back and forth match, with the heels continuing to look strong as they take the Great One and the #1 Contender to their limits. Henry comes out to ringside, and Ryder gets in a shouting match with him! Henry keeps on taunting Ryder until he hits a towering Rough Ryder from the apron to the floor! Both Ryder and Henry are out, but with Rock the legal man, this opens the door for all kinds of doubleteaming shenanigans. And there are shenanigans aplenty until JOHN CENA comes running out to make the save! Cena is a HOUSE ON FIRE against Awesome Truth, quickly hitting the FU on both of them! He starts up the Five Knuckle Shuffle....but bounces off the ropes into a Rock Bottom!
Rating: 81

-Rock tells Cena NEVER to stick his nose in the Rock’s business again, and to shut his mouth and know his role! Cena just wanted t-IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT CENA WANTED! The Rock knows Cena wants him to team up. The Rock knows that the people want to see Rock and Cena together for one time only at Survivor Series. The Rock knows that WWE needs him to step up and work with Cena to put some boots to asses! And for that reason, Rock is going to bury the hatchet with Cena for one night only. He offers Cena a handshake, then informs him that tonight is not that one night! Another Rock Bottom, but Cena slips out and bails to the outside! Rock and Cena have a brief staredown, then Rock tells him to pay attention to a REAL electrifying finisher. Rock hits the People’s Elbow on Truth to end the show.
Rating: 100

Post-show: HHH is curious how well Taker can still go (100); Taker d. Sin Cara II (67, good chem)

Overall: 84 SUCCESS ANGLES HELPED

FROM THE BOOKERMAN

-It’s like crowds don’t LIKE messy overbooked non-finishes for star-studded main events :\

-I was pleasantly surprised when Zeke agreed to put over Mordecai. Poor Zeke...I actually kinda like him, but he’s very much at the bottom of my SD Midcard ladder.

-Taker/Hunico is possibly one of the more random and useless chem pairings I’ve ever seen, and now I kinda want to see that match. >_>

-Latest autopush knocks Barrett and Sheamus down to UMC in favor of....Kofi. Welp.

-I feel like I don’t have all that much roster depth with SD, and yet it’s kicked Raw’s ass two weeks running. …maybe Rock and Taker main eventing regularly in late 2011 is not as dumb an idea as I thought >_> At least in TEW land <_<

NEWSWIRE

-Xplosion pulls a 65, with a decent-but-not-great show throughout.

-RoH has made a controversial move in picking up Teddy Hart.

-FCW only managed a 47, possibly due to Leavine/Barreta headlining over a good Finlay match.

-RCW is putting on decent shows for a local fed. Derek Frazier won the belt off Azrieal in their most recent outing.

-Word from RoH indicates that there are plans of turning Rhino face in the near future.

-Former Miss USA Rima Fakih has been turning heads with her recent FCW work. She’s reportedly expanding on the potential she demonstrated on Tough Enough.

-PWX has picked up Truth Martini.

-TAKA Michinoku has taken Open the Dream Gate from Horiguchi.

-Holdouts from the WWE raid, Benjamin and Lethal are practically carrying RoH. They actually teamed up on the most recent taping, defeating Richards and Strong in an excellent match.

-Small Canadian fed A-1 has done surprisingly well of late. They’ve put their Alpha Male title on Jimmy Jacobs, and Player Dos captured the Zero Gravity belt at the same show.

-Dragon Gate has seen fit to incorporate Kikutaro into their roster.

-The Battle of Los Angeles took place last night, with PWG delivering a solid tournament that saw Paul London emerge victorious over Willie Mack, Joey Ryan, and Kenn Doane to earn bragging rights.

-In another somewhat odd move, Dave Taylor has reported to CZW.

Apparently a rougher show than I realized. The non-finish in the ME threw everybody, and it breaks my heart how many folks took Tajiri. Ryder's a bit busy challenging for the title, and Taker has done roughly as much with Awesome Truth and is otherwise a glaring omission from the SurSer card. >_> Bidoof misses again, pretty much knocking him out of contention, and Gr8 and eddv have an awful time of things. Man, this show had me thinking maybe I should actually use my b show. I didn't use half my main eventers and left a lot of storylines up in the air. I feel like the real TNA.

Impact December Week 3 2011

Showtime:

Jeff Hardy says he's still the leader of his team, and issues an open challenge (on Kendrick's behalf) for his next team slot! Senshi comes out... though Disco and Alex Wright keep calling him Low-Ki, claiming they've never heard of Senshi. Kendrick d. Low-Ki in a grueling match to recruit him! (70) The Pope attacks Bully Ray backstage, drags him to the ring, and they have a match! Pope d. Bully to recruit him (78)

Sting comes out and congratulates RVD for being... shockingly clever last week. He lets that result stand, making Kendrick the leader of his team (he's been fighting all the matches anyway). But no more challenging people who are already on teams! Kendrick gets another challenge that he must use tonight to fill out his team. RVD retorts and says he doesn't need any more tricks... he's got an opponent lined up for tonight just extreme enough to fill out his team. (80)

Winter d. Hamada and Daffney to retain (60) There is a Glacier promo video. Blood runs COLD and he nails Matt Morgan Direct Auto Insurance Promo cut outs with Cryonic Kicks while Gail Kim watches, still sad. A clearly very winded Brian Kendrick comes out during the video and says he's using his next challenge on Glacier, and he wants it right now! He sits down in the ring and the ref rings the bell and starts to count Gail Kim whispers something to Glacier. Glacier bolts out of the promo video and to the ring area, but it's too late, Brian Kendrick wins by count-out to recruit Glacier (65)

AJ Styles says he's using his challenge for the night on Daniels! He calls Daniels out! There's no response. He pauses a bit... says he wants uh... Preying Mantis Green! Psycho Mantis Black! Whatever! Suddenly an audience member in a Suicide mask jumps the rail and blindside attacks AJ! He removes the Suicide mask... and underneath... an Ultramantis Black mask! Oh my god! The match begins! (70) AJ Styles d. Ultramantis Black by DQ in a fairly short match when Kurt and Samoa Joe interfere (75)

Shannon Moore is scheduled for a TV title shot. Robbie E comes out to defend the title, but Eric Young comes out after him, also wearing a title! What's this?! A three way match, then. (50) Robbie E sits out most of the match, but pins Shannon Moore after Eric Young hits him with whatever the hell his finisher is. Robbie E retains but Eric Young walks out with his version of the TV title as well, shouting that he wasn't pinned. (58)

VC "Cliff" Compton and Jeff Jarrett are in the ring. Jarrett is escorting So Cal Val and Christy Hemme from the arena as Compton announces that they've been reassigned to office 4C to cut costs-- he then attempts to have security remove a few of the seats from the front row because of zoning subsection blah blah blah. Scott Steiner comes out with Gunner, says that he doesn't care for these two harassing all his serfs out there, and that he and Gunner challenge them to a duel. Jarrett says they're on, but not till the PPV, because thats where the profits are. (74) Austin Aries d. Alex Shelley to retain (78)

RVD's out... his EXTREME opponent? Raven oh my gawd! RVD d. Raven, but Raven looks uncharacteristically competent and is hyped as a former NWA champion (80) After the match, AJ Styles calls out Sting, and says he wants a match with Kurt Angle, tonight! He doesn't care if he's employed or not! Sting humors him but says he can't give him a match tonight, as Kurt Angle has already been evicted from the building. He'll try to get Kurt Angle to agree to a match in some form next week! Kurt and Joe come out and attack again, in a shocker, as the show closes (88)

73 -- Success!

Reks and Hawkins go down, but not without a fight.
Rating: 67

-Del Rio knows he is going to retain tonight! It is, after all, his destiny~

-Survivor Series Match for Control of the WWE: Team WWE (HHH/Cena/Rock/Taker/Morrison) v. Team Laurinitis (Punk/Miz/Truth/Nash/Masters)
Despite the impressive resume of the face team, it’s clear that there are some synergy problems- Cena and Rock in particular spend most of the match bickering, allowing the well-oiled heel machine to get a leg up in the early stages despite their inferior plot armor. The match very quickly descends into an allout brawl, with referee Scott Armstrong losing control. This is punctuated by Morrison taking a SICK Jacknife through the announce table! Things calm down a bit as Morrison is stretchered to the back, and we return to an actual tag team format.

Things go from bad to worse for the face team, as Cena and Rock can’t stop bickering! Nonetheless, Cena manages to put away Masters, making it 4-4. Rock comes in and keeps the momentum going against Truth, but Cena blind tags himself in! Truth takes an AA and Cena glares at Rock instead of going for the pin. This pisses Rock off that much more, and he slaps Cena! Cena ponders for a moment, then slaps Rock back and gives him an AA! Cena walks away backstage, leaving Rock in the ring as the legal man! Truth makes a tag to Miz, who gets the pin on Rock, and suddenly Taker and HHH are alone against a four-man team!

...But that’s a dangerous pairing to back into a corner. HHH is next up. He takes some abuse from Miz, but when Miz tags out to Nash, HHH is able to turn the tables on his old buddy, hitting some strategic punches to come out on top of the Jacknife. From there, he’s able to eliminate Nash, but it’s obvious he’s not quite at 100% after the attack from a couple of weeks ago. Truth is well aware of this, and manages to wear the veteran down and eliminate him.

It’s down to Taker, Punk, and Awesome Truth, and Taker CLEANS HOUSE. All three heels take a Chokeslam, and then a Tombstone gets Truth! Miz gets a brief hope(?) spot, but soon falls prey to the Tombstone as well. It’s Undertaker and Punk, with the future of the WWE hanging in the balance! Taker gets the Tombstone on Punk, but just doesn’t have enough gas left to make the cover! Punk’s able to hit the GTS shortly thereafter, but when he goes for the pin, Taker rolls out the Hell’s Gate! Punk’s about to tap, but manages to get to the ropes! Both men can barely stand, and soon we have a carnal brawl of Punk’s kicks alternating with Taker’s strikes. Taker’s the best pure striker in the business...but....he’s old. He’s just....too old. Punk wobbles him....and is able to hit the GTS again! 1.....2........3!

Punk celebrates his glorious victory....forgetting that Morrison was never actually eliminated! Morrison comes limping out to the ring! Chuck Kick! Starship Pain! 1......2............3! Morrison has somehow done it! The WWE is saved!
Rating: 91

Overall: 84 SUCCESS lol angles

FROM THE BOOKERMAN

-The monster push of Morrison saving the whole fed from Laurinitis where Cena, Rock, HHH, and Undertaker ultimately failed.....has dropped him down to upper mid. AWESOME.

-Bryan/Chavo went about as well as can be expected! I was considering turning Chavo here, but then I took a closer look at his face stats and ehhhhhhhhh.

-Laurinitis was in a segment and it didn’t suck woooooo
