From: muddersmilk | #201 Probably because he was overshadowed by his tag partners too much (since it was technically a tag match). If his overness was too far below and he didn't have good momentum and/or a good gimmick he might not come out of the segment looking good. Speaking of momentum by the way Robbie E's momentum reset to "has not yet been created" again I dunno what's up with this. Hopefully it doesn't end up hurting my ability to push him. I'm not even that much of a Morrison fanboy, it's just....there aren't many good face options on Raw at all, and I don't really feel like making it the Cena and HHH Happy Fun Time Jamboree. Cena's one, and Kane's maybe two. After that...you've got Morrison, Dreamer, and Kofi as your top faces, unless you count HHH and make him start wrestling a bunch. After THAT you've got Gabriel and Santino before delving into the Rileys and Ryans. SOMEBODY needs to be a new breakout face, and since I'm kinda bored of Kofi, Morrison is getting the nod for now.

Well Morrison is no AJ Styles...!
Seriously though I kinda agree with the idea of pushing Morrison and it's kinda sad it bombed, though I think WWE actually generally has the right formula of "elevate lower guys as heel, turn face when their raw skill just makes the fans like them" so I would've probably turned Morrison heel and turned Swagger or Alberto face somehow to fill the role. (also cause I think Morrison is better as a heel and these two seem like they'd do better as faces no matter what the game stats say) Not to say it would've worked better that way. I think the reason it didn't work in game terms is because it was a mostly left field performance in a multi-man match which means dude would need huge momentum (which I assume he didn't have hence mostly left field) and a great gimmick to really reap it. Maybe his starting momentum and gimmick were really good for whatever reason, though. (For the record I didn't use the "build as heel then turn face" method on AJ Styles because AJ Styles was already legitimate by TNA canon so it was more of a reaffirmation than a breakout-- also heel AJ is only good as a goofy midcarder imhhho) -- No problem! Well, that kinda push doesn't really translate that well into mechanics, either. I'm told that "Keep Strong" doesn't really matter much for somebody who's already winning the match, so since I'm not willing to have Morrison SQUASH the heel team, all I could do was really bank on the exposure and the actual pinfall giving him a boost.
Autopush is just WEIRD all around this game. I'm currently on Wk 2 Raw and he's back in the ME, but now ORTON has dropped down to UMC, a push he shares with such prestigious, monster-pushed names as DH SMITH and TYLER REKS. -- ~Tommeri Uranius Bombaldi the Fourth, esq. It kinda does, because guys get bigger over/momentum bonuses from high rated segments if the game feels they're the star of it or at least looked better than was expected I'm pretty sure. Keep strong doesn't work so great as you said (in fact I think it hurts them if they're winning because my experience is that note almost always lowers the segment rating and lower segment ratings give you less popularity bonus) but if they've got a bunch of miscellaneous bonuses like morale, charisma/star quality, momentum, gimmick working heavily for them their "relative contribution" to the segment can catch them up to the other more over guys.
Of course it's probably easier if you're in a less over based fed too as the game will care more about their performance skills when determining the star (at least I'm pretty sure) but yeah. -- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! ... Copied to Clipboard!

Morrison kindly inquires why Cena felt the need to cost him the title when he had a legit chance of winning it. Cena answers that he's RISING ABOVE HATE, and that Del Rio is just a HAM SAMMICH! Morrison is getting quite pissed at this point, and asks if Cena realizes that he cost him the title just now. Cena accuses Morrison of being ungrateful, and claims he CAN'T SEE HIM! THE WWE UNIVERSE was just begging for Cena to check Del Rio into the SMACKDOWN HOTEL! The WWE Universe seems unconvinced of this, which Morrison points out. Cena's grin starts to look incredibly forced, and he stands there for a long time....before clonking Morrison over the head with the mic! Morrison gets the AA! Cena stares down at him, and then at the crowd. Rating: 92 Cena's turn was a complete success! -Cena looks concerned, and asks the crowd what they want from him? Pretty decent pre PPV hype show even if I don't have much in the way of wonky debuts. (was trying to let Tom catch up but I'm kinda hype for the PPV so I'm going to put that off <_<)
Impact December Week 4 2011 SHOWTIME: The show starts with Sting, Styles, Samoa Joe, and Kurt Angle in the ring with the token contract table to sign the match for the PPV. Kurt wants a match to work off ring rust, but he wants Styles banned from ringside. Sting grants him the match with AJ being banned from ringside, but says AJ can pick someone to face Angle. AJ picks his "good friends that also represent the good of old school TNA" the Motor City Machine Guns to face Joe and Angle tonight! (93) Sting and Kendrick beat Anderson and X-Pac in a "Final Resolution preview" match that Sting made but that isn't really a preview at all (74) Robbie E is backstage looking distraught, minus Big Robbie T. Wild Stevie Ray appears! Robbie E appeals to Stevie and says he needs a new guy to enforce THE LIST that Big Robbie T went to India. Stevie Ray says times have been hard lately so he'll consider it, but suckas gotta pay for his bouncer services. Robbie E says sure he'll pay, bro, and hands him THE LIST. (42) Angelina Love and Winter d. Tara and Hamada (70) The Pope d. Robbie E in another "final resolution preview" match. Stevie Ray tries to slide Robbie E a slapjack during the match but Daffney slides in and takes it first and slapjacks Pope after the match (78) Austin Aries d. Glacier and Douglas Williams to retain. Mid match the match the announcers argue whether Glacier or Douglas Williams meet the weight limits of the X-Division and Glacier leaves the match to go stop a Matt Morgan debut video. (65) Beer Money is backstage talking, when UltraMantis Black approaches them and suggests that it must be insulting for AJ Styles to pick the MCMG to test Angle and Joe over Beer Money... they're not even the champs, after all. Roode says he's got a point, "thanks Daniels" as they head to the ring and UMB increduously denies being Daniels some more. Beer Money head to the ring and call AJ out! AJ responds to the call and says that while Sting may have banned him from facing Angle he can beat their ass. (71) AJ Styles d. Beer Money after the MCMG interfere, but is beaten down pretty badly during the match. (78) Orlando Jordan d. The Lethal Warrior. He uses a lot of chops and finishes with the Figure 4 for some reason. After the match Voodoo Priest Hernandez rushes to the ring and shakes a staff while doing a dance sorta thing and shouting "whoo!" as Orlando heads to the back, ignoring him. (64) RVD and Jeff Hardy are scheduled to face Team 3D in another inane "preview match." Jeff Hardy says the savior will not be lowered to teaming with RVD tonight. RVD starts a handicap match, but during the match Suicide swings down from the rafters and fills in as RVD's tag partner (72) RVD and Suicide d. Team 3D when Jeff Hardy gets Team 3D dqed by attacking RVD. (86) Angle and Joe trash talk AJ and say they hope he enjoys helplessly watching them dismantle his buddies the MCMG from backstage (90) Angle and Joe d. Motor City Machine Guns in an incredibly competitive match where the MCMG come up just short (99!) After the match Joe and Angle continue to beat the MCMG down. AJ Styles rushes out to help but is practically limping to the ring and is overwhelmed as well. Bah gawd can AJ overcome the odds at the PPV!? (82) 86 - Success! Lol angles. Bah. As I understand it, which I'm not sure is correct, the overall is actually calculated by taking the weighted average of the matches and bumping it up or down X points based on how the average of the major angles compares to it. But then I also heard that having just one bad angle (even pre- or post-show) will get you the lol angles note and a ding. So...I have no idea.

NXT
Wk. 1, 12/11 Pre-show: Mordecai vows to show Edwards a thing or two in their match tonight (54); Barrett hypes his upcoming dark match win as well as Daivaris upcoming continued dominance over Rollins (61); Barrett/Slater d. Santino/Yoshi (64) -Match: Parka and Dutt v. Chavo and Abe Abe is goofing around again, and his cockiness gets him in trouble again...but thanks to some shady tactics (and a lack of conveniently accessible chairs), Chavos able to save the day for the heels. Rating: 50 Parka/Dutt terrible tag chemistry -Washington celebrates the win, but Chavo slaps him upside the head. Abe has NOTHING to celebrate, and Chavo wont let him turn this program into a farce. He has to take this MUCH more seriously. Rating: 55 -Match: Rollins v. Daivari In a bit of contrast to the previous match, Show keeps trying to get Rollins to lighten up and work the crowd, but Rollins is obviously focused on getting his win back from last week. Rollins appears to be going for a kind of Benoit-like character, as he quietly but furiously exacts his revenge on Daivari. Rating: 49 Show/Rollins very poor chem Rollins/Daivari good chem Rollins wants to ditch Show :\ -Match: Woods v. Capn Petey Woods comes out without Bryan OR Dreamer. Slater on the other hand is all over ringside, and his shenanigans help Williams pick up the win over an unfocused Woods. Rating: 16 -Dreamer comes rushing out to ringside to apologize for missing the match. His shift at Sunglass Hut went over...Woods is rather disappointed, but more disappointed is Daniel Bryan. Bryan berates Dreamer for no-showing again after he was given a second chance! PUNK interrupts them both, and berates them both for treating their Rookie like some sort of burden. Why, he and Colt are best buddies, and Punk considers it an honor to mentor him! Perhaps Woods would be better off joining the nWo with them! They bicker back and forth for a while before settling on a TAG MATCH PLAYA. Whoever gets the pin will be Woods permanent Pro! (Unless Colt wins. Presumably hed go to Punk.) ...And Woods will be the ref! What a convenient main event! Rating: 66 -Mordecai hypes up himself and Eddie Edwards. Mordecai has the experience edge, but he senses great potential in this Rookie. Together, they can build on Mordecais knowledge and fell the behemoth that is Big Show! Rating: 46 -Match: Show v. Edwards/Mordecai Show vents some frustrations on the duo, and Mordecais experience leads to several miscues when he tries to dictate his Rookies strategy. Edwards nonetheless heeds his Pros every word. The match is almost saved by Edwards skills, but in the end neither one can handle the monster face. Rating: 66 -Match: Second City Saints v. Dreamer/Bryan (Ref: Xavier Woods) Were reminded that Woods will essentially pick his Pro by his refereeing tonight. The Saints are a well-oiled machine despite the odd duality of Punk being the companys top heel and Cabana being a lovable goof, and Cabana steps up and shows quite a bit of tenacity against such steep competition. Despite this, hes clearly the odd man out here, and Punk cant quite pick up his slack. Woods calls it down the middle right until the end....with Bryan getting the pin. Rating: 67 Post-show: Punk calls in the nWo for a revenge strike, but Cabana talks them out of it (54); Gabriel d. Carlito for no real reason (50) Overall: 61 LOL ANGLES Mordecai and Edwards overused, Colt far overused. -- ##NO LYNCH ... Copied to Clipboard!

FROM THE BOOKERMAN:
-...I say thats a pretty dang good rating for a show built around jobbers! Well ignore that it was mostly due to the Pro saturation in the top two matches. -Dutt and Parka having such bad chemistry makes me very sad. I was intending to keep them around as a tag team after NXT and maybe see about building them to a title run, even. Its also I think my favorite NXT pairing as far as planned storyline, so....:( -Its...actually kinda tough to fit everything into an hour. I havent been able to go nearly as far into team dynamics or character development as I wanted to in the first two weeks, and Williams literally has no angle so far beyond is a pirate. Im trying to do some complex and subtle (at least relative to general Tombooking) storytelling, and its hard when I can barely fit everybody into matches and only do three angles a card. The upside is that its fun, if a bit frustrating, to try! -And Show/Rollins doing poorly...hmmmmm. -I thought Punk and Bryan were buds to a degree? They arent in this mod, at least. Original ME was a Punk/Bryan/Dreamer triple threat with Bryan going over, but Punk griped about it. I almost did it anyway because holy crap I have three months until hes theoretically in a title match at Mania aaaaaahhhhhhhh NEWSWIRE -Impact got a perfectly fine 76, with a solid 6-man tag and Anderson/Sabin as the top draws. -I am entertained by any show that has Scott Hall being the performance of the night in 2011. He did so at a JCW show, with a downright decent match against Vito. -AJPW have made an interesting move in bringing Chris Hero on board for a tour. -Reports indicate that HHH got in an altercation with a fan outside before the Raw tapings. He seems to believe his position guarantees his safety. Hes probably right. -- Year. Of. The. Bolo. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Oh and yeah I have pretty strong evidence that lol angles does in fact hurt your overall rating, just to confirm. I used Arnold Schwarzenegger's Running Man Pro Wrestling and held the exact same card 3 times in a row, the only difference being having a poorly rated angle in the postshow to get lol angles on the second one. Got 62, 58, 61 as the show ratings. The main event rated at 62 each time (Arnold d. Ron Simmons for everyone keeping score at home) and the undercard didn't vary all that much so yeah I'm pretty sure it knocks your show's rating down 3-4 points or so.
I also did a few similar cards and tried to get the Arnold overused note. Didn't seem to make much of a difference-- might have hurt his popularity slightly but I don't think so. However I would guess that might be the effect of that note and it's just not too harsh unless you get heavily overused. I know Arnold's pop has randomly dropped from 89 to 87 in the Tri-State area over the course of a month or so (started at 80 though) but I'm not sure if that's the accumulation of many "Arnold Overused" notes or just being in angles/matches that aren't high enough quality to maintain the pop. -- No problem!
