-Kane comes to the ring and climbs a ladder in the middle. He cuts a brief promo about how he's going to extract vengeance on Del Rio, and take his prized title away from him. It is Kane's DESTINY!

The coward angle is really played up in the opening stages of the match, with Del Rio clearly torn between a desire to remain champion and a desire not to get torn to pieces. After a few false starts with Del Rio running away until Kane starts to climb, the match begins in earnest, and Del Rio doesn't do all that bad. Still, Kane is able to get the upper hand! Kane climbs the ladder, but Del Rio intercepts him at the top! Kane staggers him...and chokeslams him all the way to hell! Kane's all alone with the title within his reach...but here comes Ricardo! Ricardo tips the ladder! Kane jumps off and lands on his feet like Eddie Guerrero when that fan ran in, and catches Ricardo with a chokeslam and a Tombstone! ...But this has given Del Rio an opening! Del Rio plows into Kane's back with the ladder, knocking the challenger out of the ring! Del Rio's able to set the ladder back up...climb it...and retrieve his title!

-Rumble build is gonna be kind of a pain, imo. I don't have room for many matches on the card, and probably not much more at EC, so I don't want to start a bunch of storylines that have little to no chance of getting PPV attention.

Clearly this is the only reason that the nWo retained over ZigSwag, and she demands restitution for her boys! HHH comes out to inform ZigSwag that the Harts got screwed even harder with that pre-match attack. Therefore, there will be reprecussions for the nWo, but the Hart Dynasty have dibs on a title shot. Air Boom are out next, and they're also upset. HHH concedes that both teams deserve better, so he has a proposal! Tonight, all four men will meet in a fatal four-way with a ten minute time limit. If somebody manages to win in that time frame, they will be granted a title shot at the Royal Rumble!

He wants them to each give him an answer why they should stay in. Woods says he just now found himself a good Pro, and to kick him off now would be unfair. Cabana says he was in here before and was held down, and he needs a fair shot. Edwards says he's the best wrestler the indies have to offer, and he has so much more to learn from the esteemed WWE Veterans like Mordecai! Abe cracks a joke about Vince's suit. Vince says that Abe is not taking things seriously enough, and that Colt needs to get over himself. They'll face off in a match right now, and the loser is gone!

Pre-show: Rock finds a MYSTERIOUS WARNING NOTE (100); Yoshi/Zeke d. Havana Pitbulls (47); Haas/Dibiase are upset they got bumped off the card for that (61)

-Carlito opens the show, oddly. He's here to whine and throw around accusations of uncoolness. He came back to work with Laurinitis and finally get what he deserved, but he's still being misused the same as ever! He wants a fair shot! Bryan comes out and empathizes. Carlito's been held back his entire career, much like himself. The difference is that Bryan made his own impact and fought his way to the top anyway. He suggests they have a match tonight if Carlito wants a chance to prove himself. Carlito tries to wheedle Bryan into putting MitB on the line, but is cut off by The Rock. The Rock says they both have very good points, and it's something he's been thinking about lately. There's lots of great talent on the Rock's show, and not much time to highlight them all. Therefore, he's starting a huge #1 Contender tournament! Back in the day, there was the Smackdown Six. Under the Rock, he's gonna make it a Smackdown Sixteen! Oh, and Bryan and Carlito are starting the tournament right now.

Cody looks like a star here, as he gets in a ton of offense against the Phenom. Randy Orton comes out to watch as Cody actually gets Taker on the ropes! Cody freaks out a bit at the presence of Orton, and he screams at him to leave the match alone. Ironically, this leads up to a Hell's Gate, and it's all over. Taker's facing Miz next round.

After that clinic, we get a pretty weak match with the BARRA BARRAGE going over. He fights Sheamus next.

-Nash and X-Pac are here! They think it's lame that they have to deal with the Harts AND Orton/Rollins right after TLC. Hart Dynasty is unimpressed, and just hope that nWo can hang on to the belts long enough to fight them.

Cena marches himself out to ringside, and he looks ready for a fight. Sure enough, he sucker punches a confused Show in the jaw, and attacks! Cena easily gets the upper hand on the tired Show, and finishes the job with an AA!

-I took a gamble on Show/Truth for storyline impact. It didn't pay off. :\

-On the plus side, that whole show was pretty darn good! Particularly impressed with Miz/Ryder and Cody/Taker, given that Ryder and Cody are midcarders. Perhaps I am overestimating how popularity-based we are?

-This tournament helps a bit with the whole problem of having to build a PPV with few major storylines, but it's also me with a tournament. Yaaaaayyyyy. :D

-Barrett beat up Sin Cara so bad he blew an ear drum :\

-Not only did Tenzan come up short in his IWGP Title bid, but Tanahashi shattered his elbow! It's unknown whether Tenzan will return to active competition, but he's probably out for at least a year.

-Xplosion gets a decent 52, with a Kazarian/Gunner main event.

-Last night was a highly eventful FCW taping. Eve took the divas' title off of Audrey Marie, Watson/Cottonwood went over Finlay/Sid in a barnburner of a sub-main, and TRENT BARRETA ended Andy Leavine's reign of terror!

-Adamle is gonna retire :(

-Sharmell is going to Lucha USA. She should fit in well there o_O

-RoH gets a nice 76, capped with a nice tag match.
