tonight I fared much better against the Japanese in 3s. on the sad side though, I only ran into one Chun, no Yuns, and no Akumas. only lost one game total, but it seems like the big dog characters weren't out tonight!

I love this game

anyway some of the guys I lost to 40 times showed up again tonight. I'm doing better but they're still beating me most of the time. I think against the Yun players I'm gonna have to bring out Chun, I just can't beat them with anyone else.

for those of you who like 3s but are horrible at hit confirming (me), this video seems pretty useful. I intend to run through all of these every day until I stop throwing out supers off a blocked Elena cr mp. the time has come to fix myself. if you don't like 3s all that much but do play a game where hit confirming is important, this can probably still be helpful!

So I decided today that SFxT really isn't very fun at all. I think I might end up going back to UMVC3 because I think that might be my favorite fighting game.

Yeah, I got bored with SFxT as well, partnering with another person is fun but playing solo just feels bland.

I probably should try learning a different character in Skullgirls, but Cerebella is just so much fun! Also, keep those replays coming Bob. I can't play 3rd Strike at all but I like watching it.

Got Skullgirls last night! Lots of fun, but I'm struggling to figure out who I really want to use as my main go-to character. I'm kind of leaning towards either Filia or Valentine.

The only complaint I have that sometimes the AI in Arcade and Story Mode feels a bit unbalanced. Like, I'm running through things just fine and then out of nowhere the AI character busts out a bunch of insane crap.

Well I think my problem with SFxT is that it seems like half of the cast (the Tekken side) relies on target combos to be proficient and I hate target combos with a passion. Not to mention all of the other silly stuff.

I find that I fall into complacency more often in SFxT than any other game.

Like, I know only one combo and one strategy. I play Ken, combo into H. Tatsu, tag in, deal big damage with partner.

It gets tiresome. Never mind the problems with jabs and throws. And bugs.

Like, I didn't feel there was any real controller reading involved and the AI was just acting on reaction. It was actually doing stuff.

I realized that this game nailed it in every category that counts. Couldn't ignore it.

To unlock palette 10 in SGs:

go to versus, then go to local. on the screen where you pick player1/player2 and stuff (NOT CHARACTER SELECT SCREEN lol), hit Down, RB, Up, LB, Y, B. Have to use Dpad. Same on PS3, just sub LB for L1 and Y for triangle...you get the picture

Down, R1, Up, L1, Square, Circle for PS3.

Oh, I don't think there is any controller reading or anything like that. There are just a couple of fights where it feels like the difficulty got dialed up by a **** ton out of nowhere.

Anyways, progress update! I beat Story Mode with Filia, Peacock, and Parasoul already. I tried with Ms. Fortune earlier but that was a pretty dismal failure on my part.

I think I'm passed the point of simply hating Marvel.

I cannot sit through a match without thinking at least once "That's bulls***."

Yay Skullgirls online, mostly getting fairly shaky connections but when I get someone with a green connection it feels awesome, can't really notice anything wrong with it. I'm getting my ass kicked a fair bit, probably winning only around 35% of the time, but I've been getting a bit better! Every time I face someone (or a specific character combination or tactic) that's been owning me and finally win after several matches of it, it's great. Never though I'd play a grappler but Cerebella is just so much fun. I can't hit my combos online at all so I've pretty much given up entirely on winning via anything other than grabs and finding as many obnoxious ways to land the grab super as possible (favourite so far: command run, absorb a hit with the armor, super).

Okay I'll be honest I had quite a bit of fun with that Skullgirls demo... I'm considering trading in SFxT and getting a PSN card or something to buy it but I'm really not sure.

Skullgirls seems fun but I'm not sure I'll ever put any time into it. I never can get into combo fighters like that. It's a good game and I'm glad I bought it and supported the developers and I hope they keep making fighting games. But I'll probably stick to the usual stuff.
