The topic isn't just for discussing FG news and balance and all that, it's for anything FG related. Replays you uploaded, discussion while people are running games, whatever. We don't really have that much discussion going on most of the time anyway. Whenever a new FG comes out, we have like a two week spike in activity and then not much again. These things tend to purge the rest of the time because there's not much to talk about.

I think it's useful for when you wanna play against fellow B8ers. You can tell if people are currently playing some games based on whether you see the topic staying towards the top of the list. It's really tough to figure out if anyone else on the board wants to play otherwise.

I can see why it would feel like the flow of conversation is broken up when all of the sudden there's 30 messages of one liners in the middle of Skullgirls discussion though. I suggest skipping over it entirely (it's pretty easy to see and only happens a couple nights a week) or participating yourself! There's a lot of people who like FGs on this board but don't get involved in our sets. Me/ZFS/Nee/Weaku/Shoe have all played together a fair amount but I don't see everyone else much.

So supposedly Chris G threw the KOF 13 finals because he thought there was no way he could win anyway, and figured random characters would be more entertaining for the crowd. There's a thread on SRK saying he should be penalized and yellow carded since they did the same to Justin last year. Lots of arguing.

99.99% of people arguing about it have never been in GFs of a tournament and should shut up about it. It can be very stressful, and if he didn't think he could win/wasnt playing at his best that day and didn't want to leave a bad impression for others/whatever, thats his right.

I thought Justin's penalty was because they actually suspected him of losing on purpose to help someone else (I think Noel Brown) get EVO seeding points, not just because he sandbagged. As far as I know ChrisG's not friends with Bala (considering they live on opposite ends of the country) so it probably wasn't to help him get more points. He's one of the best KOF players so he certainly doesn't need help anyway.

this is ChrisG, one of the most prominent players right now. He was definitely playing his best in every other game (he got to top 8 in almost every single game at the tournament) and a lot of people already have a negative perception of him (his Morrigan tactics in Marvel, always coming up with some lame excuse when he loses a big match, etc.) so I don't see why he would just random out like that for any of those reasons.
