Yeah I was gonna comment on the goth girls but lol >_>
Great soundtrack though yeah, it stands up to the other films of the 90's even if it isn't part of the "Disney canon". They knew what they were doing around that time period, love the MJ style stuff especially.
I'm on the same part right now thanks to all the rewinding I did.
And yeah, wow. Part of me wonders why he wouldn't just stop with the verbal diarrhea, but then he got a kiss and some sympathy so it all evens out! Except for the part where he then had to make the lie a truth that is!
Finished! Time for Nightmare Before Christmas! Char, since I'm sure you own eight copies of it on DVD, Blu-Ray, and VHS, and wouldn't mind watching it for the thirty first time this week I'll wait for you to catch up if you want!
Ugh, I saw the preview for Frankenweenie and I can't say I'm looking forward to it. Corpse Bride (not Disney but same origins as NBC) was kind of a disappointment and the preview for that one actually looked promising. Anyway, ready to start!
Corpse Bride could have been a lot better yeah. The premise of Frankenweenie has always been kinda eh, but I'm hoping a full length version might make it better.
Now's a good time to comment about this during this song.
The comparisons between Jack and Ariel from topics ago were fair. Both do want to leave the lives they've found have become boring for something they don't really understand. But Ariel's dreams are much more childish. Jack's looking for a little more than a pretty face and change of scenery. If the other residents of Halloween Town actually understood Christmas then nothing bad would have really happened (Jack actually understands the meaning of Christmas from the start, he only changes it to please his friends).
So it might be the same concept, but I've always been able to understand why Jack would want a change more than I do Ariel's.
I've always heard Finklestein was actually intended to be the main villain, and Oogie Boogie was just a disguise he used but they got rid of that idea at some point.
So yeah, if the residents had understood and taken to the idea a bit more when it was presented it probably could have worked out well. I suppose they simply can't however, but it's pretty clear to me that Sally can grasp it. I've always wondered why it is that no one else at all can.
I wonder if any of the other holiday mascots ever get bored with their holiday.
It's a shame we don't get to hear more about Oogie Boogie in the actual movie itself. That has a lot to do with the fact the original idea wasn't for him to exist as an individual character though.
Finished up Mozenrath episodes of Aladdin today. Only gonna be focusing on recurring villains for shows, so that leaves a handful still for this particular series.
Yeah, I've mentioned that before. When Mulan slips and uses the last bit of her strength to pull herself up... works well with the music in that instance, gets me every time.
Watched Winnie the Pooh (2011) today, planned for tomorrow are Atlantis and Treasure Planet.
Anyone up for An Extremely Goofy Movie? Gonna start it at around midnight or some after if anyone's interested in joining in. I'm not sure this one has a rankable villain but I'm gonna watch it anyway.
Unfortunately, if I remember, it basically makes the first movie not even really exist. That's pretty unfortunate but the Villian Wikia actually has a listing for this movie so I'm obligated to give it a try (I don't really remember much of anything about it outside of that).
If I remember correctly, Max and Goofy's relationship is completely reset in the sequel. Like the first one never happened. And Roxanne is never mentioned even once.
That cheating rival dude is totally a rankable villain though.

Goofy/Max relationship doesn't seem too unfaithful to the first movie, yet at least. Kids and parents in real life share touching moments and experiences and go back to war the next week. That's real life stuff there. Not seeing Roxanne even mentioned is a little bit of a let down though, and my biggest issue with it. They were a really cute couple and I'm a sap, so yeah.
I think "stank" was kinda harsh for this movie, considering what else I will be watching shortly at least. Granted it isn't as good as the first but I wouldn't say it's by any means a bad movie.
