Wk. 3, 6/84

Pre-show: Steamboat/Atlas d. Samoans (65)

The Von Erichs are squabbling in the ring to start the show. King David isn't impressed by KVE's bullrope skills, and he's going to show his own now! (73) He does so by beating Bret Hart, after a hope spot or two. (76) Duggan would like to throw down with Sheik at Full Metal Mayhem. (83)

Windham goes over Gilbert in an unremarkable match. (50) With Gilbert in the ring, Bolo and Jones confront Lawler! Lawler doesn't have the tag titles on him, and runs away. (59) We see a taped segment of Santana getting bandadged up after Funk's barbed wire beatdown. He's not able to be there tonight, but he'll be back very soon to get even! (50)

Muraco and Williams face off in non-title action! Muraco is able to hold off Williams, even with DiBiase running interference at ringside. After a while, the heels get tired of fighting fair, and DiBiase slips Williams the coal miner's glove! Williams blasts Muraco with it, taking the DQ loss. (82)

Fink talks with Funk. Funk wants to hurt somebody, and Santana was dumb enough to stick his nose in Funk's business. He got what he deserved, and he'll get more next time Funk sees him! (61) Flair and Rich wrestle to a 20-minute time limit draw! Bummer, Flair almost had him! (75) Stevens calls out Andre and Hansen for a CONTRACT SIGNING. Stevens is tired of All Japan getting involved in matches, so he's going to make Andre/Hansen a CAGE MATCH! Both men agree and sign the paper, then Andre eats a LARIATOOOO because Stan the Man doesn't need backup! (78)

Wk. 3, 6/84

Pre-show: Baba/Tsuruta d. Survivors (54)

Future Perfect put away Sharpe and Patterson to start the show. (55) A taped skit airs, showing Style and Substance attending a fashion show, Schultz trying hard to fit in alongside the more enthusiastic Martel. (42) The Harts prevail over Saito and Misawa. (52)

Albano is still telling us how great his Samoans are. (even though I've kinda lost them in the shuffle) (57) Atlas and AKIO wake up the crowd a bit with a decent match. Atlas goes over. (63) Bolo and Jones finally manage to catch up with Pair of Kings, and ask where the tag belts are. Turns out they're in the rafters! *evil laugh* (56) We get an IC Title match as our main event! Duggan brawls Reigns into submission to retain. (71) Santana comes out and starts to talk, but is quickly interrupted by Funk. Santana surprisingly bails out of the ring rather than facing Funk, but it soon becomes apparent why. As Funk gloats in the ring, Santana grabs something from under the apron....a glove wrapped in barbed wire! Santana re-enters the ring and blasts Funk with it! Santana says he may be hot-headed, but he ain't stupid. He wants Funk in a Barbed Wire Match at Heavy Metal Mayhem! (73)

Duggan calls out Sheik and wants a FLAG MATCH on Wrestling Challenge! Sheik's down with that. (59) KVE gets a win over Koloff. (78) King David does a runin on KVE with the bullrope, but KVE fights him off! (68) Santana beats AKIO. (70)

Pair of Kings flaunt the Tag Titles from the rafters! (54) But Bolo and Jones have a plan for tomorrow night! (65) Funk and Hennig put on a clinic, with Funk going over. (78) Flair fought Rich to a time limit draw last week, but he's not satisfied. We need a winner! Rich agrees. We're gonna have an IRONMAN MATCH. (92) Andre and Muraco face Hansen, Baba, and Tsuruta in handicap main event action. Andre gets the big win! (78...popular score tonight.) Money and Power run in! Muraco bails, so they confront Andre...until Muraco comes back in with a chair, and cleans house! (86)

WWF Wrestling Challenge
Wk. 4, 6/84

Pre-show: Martel d. Atlas (60)

Gilbert is taunting Jones and Bolo. The tag titles are still in the rafters, and now they are dangling over the ring for effect! It doesn't even matter that Lawler isn't here tonight! Jones and Bolo come out...with ladders! They run off Gilbert, and climb to retrieve the belts! (30) In tag action people actually care about, Future Perfect take down the New Samoans. (64)

Gilbert has his tail between his legs, and is wandering around backstage when the Harts bump into him and tell him he and Lawler are a disgrace to the tag division! (30) We get a HARDCORE MATCH because that is a lot easier to get past the censors than a barbed wire match. Santana beats Schultz after a couple of trash can shots! (60) Funk is not impressed by Santana's hardcoreness...he beats Misawa and Saito with a barbed wire bat just to make a point! (40)

We get a FLAG MATCH for the IC Title because apparently it's stipulation night. Both Duggan and Sheik come very close as tensions rise. Sheik pulls out brass knuckles, and takes a swing! Duggan blocks it, and goes for his 2x4! Pandemonium ensues, and the match is ruled a double DQ. (66) We can't have that, so this weekend, we're going to have a BRASS KNUCKLES MATCH. (67)

WWF PRESENTS HEAVY METAL MAYHEM

Pre-show: Afa/Bruno d. Future Perfect (74)

Money and Power are here, and DiBiase is coming for Muraco's belt! (86) Muraco and DiBiase will be contesting the NWA Title in a WEAPONS ON POLES match! Suspended above the corners are DiBiase's briefcase, Williams' coal miner's glove, a chair, and the actual NWA Title belt. Those weapons are legal, but the match is otherwise normal. All four come into play at various points, but the end comes when Muraco goes for the glove. Williams hops on the apron and tries to take his glove back! Muraco pulls free and blasts him with the glove, but DiBiase smashes the belt into Muraco's face! A bit more offense, and DiBiase gets the pin to win the NWA Title! (85)

Fink is backstage with Santana. Unfortunately, the sports commissioners would not sanction a barbed wire match! Santana's upset. (47) Stevens announces that the WWF Tag Titles will, fittingly, be defended tonight in the first ever LADDER MATCH! (57) Bolo/Jones and Pair of Kings are both able to do some spots to showcase the new stip, but Bolo is the one to do a crazy dive off the top of the ladder to hit both challengers! Jones is able to climb and grab the belts afterwards to retain. (77)

Funk is in the parking lot with a ref! He wants Santana to come out there and settle things like a man, commissioner be darned! (85) The less said about the parking lot match, the better. Funk wins. (30) Steamboat takes us on an edutaining tour of a steel plant because filler. (69)

It's the battle of the brothers, as KVE takes on King David in a bullrope match! The bell is metal, so you see it's still on theme. Both Von Erichs make liberal use of said bell, but Kevin is able to pull off a slightly surprising win! (82) King David throws a tantrum about that and about having to forfeit his kingship soon. (88)

Duggan and Sheik are up next, in a brass knuckles match for the IC Title. They somehow drag it out for twelve minutes, but eventually Duggan is able to win. For AMERICA. (70) HOOOO! (83)

Flair is a sixty minute man, and this match is only thirty! Rich is goin' down. (98) The iron man match lives up to expectations! Flair takes a 2-1 lead, but Rich reverses a Figure Four towards the end! Flair struggles....but hangs on until the buzzer! (93)

Andre's out first for the WWF Title cage match. He's jumped from behind by Baba and Tsuruta! Hansen joins in, smacking his challenger with the WWF Title and tossing him into the cage. (59) Andre makes a comeback once the match officially is underway, but never manages to keep down Hansen. Hansen beats him clean(ish) to retain! (95) All Japan are here to dominate, and they're going to stay dominant for a long, long time! (76)

Overall: 93 SUCCESS
