A good cop shouldn't have to hesitate because of what some bad cops did.

Bad cops shouldn't get off because there are some good cops. I mean look at the Tamir Rice, Philando Castille, and Justine Damond shootings. And those there are just the ones on the top of my mind. I don't know if the officer who shot Justine Damond will be found guilty or not. Ultimately when bad cops get by with what they do, it leads to a distrust of the police force.

Jennifer Lawrence is taking a beating on my local kdka news facebook post regarding her comments about the weather and the hurricanes.

I think it is pretty overblown... while if you follow the comment to a natural conclusion you could in a way make an argument she did imply that..and honestly it is probably what she was intending to imply... but I think it is a stretch saying she actually said all that and that it should be having such a backlash.

Oh, I agree with that, too. Bad cops shouldn't be able to skirt the system or be given the benefit of the doubt.

I'm just saying that... If a violent criminal has a gun trained on an innocent person and is threatening to shoot them, the cop shouldn't be sitting there going "Hmm, if I shoot this guy, will there be backlash..." They should be thinking about how to handle the situation, whatever it requires. Obviously, yes, there are times to hesitate. But there are also times when they absolutely shouldn't hesitate because it could cost themself or an innocent person their life.

To me hesitation is part of what makes someone a good cop. You should hesitate when you're holding a gun. If ending someone's life is effortless for you mentally, I don't want you anywhere near a job where you have ample opportunity to do it.

Well, like mentioned, there are times to hesitate and times not to.

If somebody is screaming that they're going to kill you and in the process of aiming their gun to do so, do you want the cop to hesitate?

Its website listed there uses the same logo on NH1.com anyway.

I will say the article could have been written with more focus on the event than national politics.

Looking over to CE was a really bad decision

The bar for what gets called "PC Outrage" has just dropped so incredibly low, I don't even know where it is now. Like early on with the "SJW" stuff I could agree certain types would go absurdly overboard... but now things have bent completely backwards and we're now calling it "outrage" to be offended by straight up hateful racial slurs, what the fuck?

Hesitation can cost lives and lives of other innocents.

Some situations allow for hesitation. Others clearly do not and cost you your life.

That is why a lot of scenarios regarding police you must remember that they sometimes have to just make these decisions as they come up. And, mistakes can happen in certain situations.

Lack of hesitation can also cost lives and the lives of innocents. I'm not saying "mistakes shouldn't ever happen," I'm saying "police, like others, should take responsibility for massive mistakes in their line of work -- and should be aware of that fact".

Yes, absolutely.

You can make this a tougher hypothetical on me if it's literally anyone in the world other than myself at gunpoint though, cuz then I'm inflicting my ideals directly on someone else rather than myself.

Also, does the person have to be a cop in this scenario? And more importantly, does it change anything for you if they're a random civilian with a gun instead?

Input as a guy who works in the auto industry: When the Chinese government decides it's going to do something domestic, it's going to happen 99% of the time for better or worse. We're already prepping for it on the supply side.

And if China does it, everyone else is going to follow too because we're trying to build on global transmission platforms.

Curious about how they'll handle trucks though. That level of torque required isn't nearly possible with electrification technology in the foreseeable future. If they relent anywhere, it'll be there.

This doesn't change the basic initial premise that banks were giving out loans to people they shouldn't have. Giving out 2 or 3 loans to good credit people or giving out 1 loan to a poorer person doesn't change that loans sere not being given out right.
