It's not creepy, but it's annoying. If I'm in line for security at the airport, I want to hurry up and get to my gate. I'm not looking to socialize with randoms.

The woman definitely overreacted -- just say no and move on, it's not a "threat" -- but I understand being miffed over the whole situation, especially if it's something that happens a lot.

You are adding to the scenario to justify. Nowhere does it say he asked her in line. Nowhere does it say she was in a hurry and he slowed her down. Nowhere does it say he did anything but ask her for her number after she smiled at him and that she declined.

Anything else beyond that is moving goalposts to get the answer you want to get to.

I'm not. I'm saying they both contribute to an unfortunate reality of constantly receiving unwanted advances. This is similar to how minorities deal with a ton of implicit bias in addition to whatever overt racism they encounter. Those two things are not the same (and are not morally equivalent), but they both are real contributions to the problem that need to be addressed.

Why would you be interacting with a TSA agent anywhere but the security line? Unless she was just walking along (going to her gate or whatever) and he specifically stopped her to question her. But that actually is threatening. Like, entirely independent of hitting on her. If a TSA agent randomly approached me to talk when I was not at the security line I would be like welp am I under suspicion or what.

Also maybe it's just me but I'm basically always in a hurry at the airport >_>

I saw this on Twitter first and I think Brie literally co-opted a thread that was talking about how awful the TSA was to talk about how she gets hit on all the time and it makes her life oh so miserable.

Hitting on someone while they're working is incredibly dicey, because if you've read the situation completely wrong and don't have social grace you're gonna make them very uncomfortable if they turn you down because they can't get up and leave.

Simply because I agreed with Corrik and thought it was weird that she got so mad because someone asked for her phone number. To me it didn't feel like that big a deal because I have worked as a life guard and had my number asked for and I have also asked a waitress for her number in the past.
