Well I finally Watched YOUR NAME.

Fantastic visuals, story was decent, but not one of the greats imo.
The greats=Redline, Akira, Spirited Away, The Boy and the Beast, Disappearance of Haruhi Suzimiya.

You consider the boy and the Beast one of the greats? I really like that movie but I'm not sure about it being one of the greats

Golden Time is what happens when a normal anime rom-com gets interrupted by mental illness on the part of the main character. Interesting watch, but also frustrating.

Could not decide what to watch with lunch, so I went back to Tonari no Seki-kun. Seki-kun never lets me down.

Continued my yuri manga spree with "girl friends", supposedly the best there is. It was pretty good to be fair. Parts in the middle made me want to strangle some of the characters for continually misinterpreting things but I was pretty happy with how Akko resolved it. It was like stupid romance drama tropes vs a real human trying to clear things up. Only for part of it though. The rest was all quite good. I wonder why it hasn't gotten an anime adaptation when seemingly lesser yuri manga have. Should be a enough content for a 1 cour show (3 chapters an episode ish). I guess since its been finished for a while it missed its window.

Definitely noticing a trend that they tend to just fly through any of the physical parts even when they include them. Oh well.

Hell yeah, Girl Friends. One of my two favorite yuri (other one is Kashimashi). Shame it didn't get an anime, but I was surprised when it got an English release a couple years ago, because it was pretty old at that point.

But that was around the time that yuri started really picking up in US, so I guess it wasn't a coincidence.

I dropped the anime of that a little while back. Don't really mind genderbender but on a pure yuri spree right now. Not totally sure what I'll try next. I'd probably try citrus if it wasn't currently airing an anime season. It really looks like there just aren't that many good ones. As good as girl friends is, it kinda hurts if thats literally the best the genre has to offer. I'd probably give it somewhere between an 8 and a 9.

I hate almost all the new characters introduced. All these new characters draw away from the plot. When the manga started Guts was a loner and even when he joined the Hawks the manga was about him, Griffith, and Caska. The whole thing is about Guts seeking revenge. The entire story built up to him seeking revenge against Griffith and is still the main driving motive of the story. But all these new characters do nothing for that. I like the little witch and the magic element introduced. Even though it's a big addition to the Berserk world it's a natural thing to add since there are already demons

yee, the dub was amazing and to me it had near the same level of "magic feeling" as spirited away for me.

The anime of Golden Kamuy is coming out next month, and I feel worried that the adaptation won't do it justice. The manga has 2 core, interesting facets. Thrilling action, and a sense of wonder for nature and Ainu culture. It's got an enormous amount of static, but interesting characters, and amusing comedic moments which supports the characters and setting really well. What I'm getting at, is I don't know how the anime would mesh the two together; Action/thriller doesn't mesh well with elements akin to SoL. I feel like the easy answer is to give the short stick to the latter facet.

On second thought, if the manga can do it, so can the anime. It's crafted so that it flows, and doesn't alternate exploring the facets willy nilly. Well shit, sometimes it kinda is, but it makes sense in manga form...

I don't fucking know.

I realized nanatsu no taizai was back so I watched all 8 episodes in one day. now I just have to hold on for a week while I wait for the next one... this season is pretty hot although I think they went too far with the power level statistics.

basically they gave the pig a dbz scouter and he commentates his version of "over 9000" each time a new enemy appears and it's getting really annoying.

Ok Golden Time. I'm kinda pissed off, with an apathetic flavor. The ghost banri shit. Jesus. I don't even know how to describe it. Hamfisted? probably, but a significant part of the plot/show revolved around it, but also doesn't. Nonsensical? It made just the minimum level of comprehensibility.

I think it blurred supernatural/fairytale shit and mental illness, and it left a bad taste in my mouth. Just put him in a fucking clinic. Also, he's so normal and uniteresting, he's flavorless regardless if he has or hasn't have his memories. Grah, just so much apathy for him.



Also, I think I have a general problem with duo's in anime. If I don't care or hate a main character, then the show just drags for me. A table can't stand with two legs.

Newest Overlord. I'm glad that Fatass got rekt by Sebas. And uh oh the Princess is bad news... Even though they hinted at it in the ED, they drove home the point in the end of this episode

I wonder how Sebas and Ain's meeting is gonna go.

Yeah, I went in with expectations of it being good and then ended up not caring for it. I finished it of course, but I don't remember anything about it.

I'm 1/3rd through mawaru penguindrum, and I'm not really sure why I'm enjoying it. I guess because it's abnormal. I like its artstyle, and it has a lot of imagery. It's fun and somehow whimsy at times. I guess I'm trying to say it has a lot of flair. At this point, I don't think I care if the plot becomes truly coherent, but it would be cool if it did and executes it well to be meaningful.

Continuing my yuri manga spree (after a minor delay) with Yagate Kimi ni Naru (Bloom into you). 5 chapters in. It's kinda hard to follow at times and too much time passes without a good indication. Idk, just somehow the information isn't conveyed as well as it could or should be. Other than that though, its pretty decent. I feel like it could use another trip to the editor and a rewrite before it was actually published and then it could be very good.

Comparing it to girl friends its very hard to get a sense of what the characters are actually like because it's hard to really follow the flow of conversation with how its laid it out. The art looks pretty. They also didn't make us wait 50 million years for some yuri to happen like in girlfriends. I'm not sure I actually like the concept of the plot though. Basically one person feels nothing for the other but the other person is trying to make that change. Just sounds like something that SHOULDN'T work out but if theres going to be 25 more chapters I guess it has to here.

So, Granblue Fantasy is gonna have another roulette draw thing for their anniversary coming up in a couple days. It's gonna last 2 weeks and you get at least 10 premium draws a day and can get up to 100 depending on where you land on the wheel. Also, it seems that there's going to be one guaranteed 100 draw for everyone, so that's awesome.

I've had it for a while, but it would crash on startup before lol. A fresher win7 install though and it works. Wonder what the conflict was. I've still got a bunch of vns I've yet to start into too, thanks to you. I've got the Higurashi ones installed.

This bloom into you manga has the weirdest fucking main characters that its trying to pass off like they aren't both psychotic. I'm kind of confused why this is rated highly. Maybe the art? It is really good art and for the first time in a manga I can actually tell what everything I'm looking at is even though its black and white. I think I hate all the characters though.

So, this roulette draw event in Granblue is treating me fairly well so far. I got 30 draws two days in a row and with that I've gotten 15 new characters, of which 3 are SSR.

In episode 11 when Mary is dispelling her once party members turned undead, the first one she hugs after he briefly resembles his non undead form before he crumbles and she falls to her knees. And then the way she says dispell while almost crying for the last guy gets me

Grimgar was a bit more hardcore than I was expecting, but I really wish they'd made at least one more season for it.

I feel like that doesn't even matter. But they don't have memories of it but remember our world. I think it being another real place (in another reality or something) or being in a game really matter. The truth is everything is very fluid and not "gamelike"

I love how he gains renji's respect at the end. If this was a normal anime Renji would be the main character haha
