It didn't. The courts tried to stall it, which is the most they can do. Trump's mistake was entrusting Mattis to do the right thing, which he failed to. So Trump is taking things into his own hands now.

There are gypsies and Bulgarian muslims who have lived here for a few centuries. As for the others, there are a few thousand Chinese, mostly in the capital. There are some Russians and such, but our cultures are close enough. All others are negligible in numbers, and mostly concentrated in the capital.

Government's considering introducing state-subsidised private security for villages because the police force is not large enough to secure them all. There were some terrorist acts by muslims in the 80s, but fortunately nothing like that since then. Currently, the situation is stable, but that could change fast if EU decide to locate migrants currently restrained in Turkey here after Erdogan inevitably sets them loose.

The people's heart is in the right place and there would certainly be vigourous resistance to any such plans, if they ever tried to implement them. But it's hard to say if it would be enough. Recently, certain elements in the ruling party worry me with actions showing that they would be willing to serve the EU even by doing things that clearly mean they would never get elected again. The prime minister, without whom the party is nothing, is fortunately saner, but it's hard to feel at ease.
