Ben Brode answered a bunch of questions, some interesting points.

1. Cards moving into the classic set.
-He says there's a good chance of this happening, mainly due to the hall of fame. He cited mage as a class that is being looked at the most due to the card discrepancy.

2. Cubelock is being looked at.
-He said that cubelock (and I'm assuming to an extent warlock) is being looked at in terms of the health of the game. He did mention like how it feels to play and to lose against too... which I only half believe because Big Priest still exists.

3. They played around with 60 card decks.
-Basically, they want to have each game feel different, even in mirrors. Having larger decks with more variance does this, but the format provides too much of this etc. Although he did not mention this either, I'm assuming 60 card decks increasing the cost of entry is another factor.

4. Old Cardbacks are going to be made available.
-This is probably the most surprising development as I never thought this would happen. He said that they are trying to find a sweet spot where players who have gotten them for monthly rewards don't feel cheated, but also that players trying to get them don't feel like they are being exploited. That said, I doubt they will open up super exclusives like Blizzcon.

control warlock is more oppressive than cubelock. address the out of control taunts first.

hunter has never been given a tool to replace quickshot after a full year, but control classes keep getting more and more ridiculous taunt options for fuck's sake.

60 card decks would be stupid.

striking that balance for cardbacks seems impossible honestly. but this is more just about the fact that no matter what you do somebody will complain. they should just pick one or the other and go that way instead of trying to appease both sides of the fans and upsetting everyone.

Yeah control warlock is almost non existent when I play. It only has minor gains versus aggresive decks over cubelock and loses too much against decks that can game against them like priest decks, jades (if the warlock is not running geist), and especially rare things like quest decks and weapon rogue. Controls good matchup are really good for it, but its bad ones are also really bad for it.

Also I finally had a 12 win arena after a few 11s.

Final boss was a priest, I dced during the match so I don't have the replay for it. It was looking pretty bad for me honestly but I brought it back because he was not able to have strong follow ups to his big plays and I slowly got value.

In one game I played the acolyte of pain on 3 and proceeded to keep it alive for like almost the entire game by like buffing it with stuff like steed, dinosize, etc. It drew so many cards. Another game I had like a full hand and drew my 4/4 buff dude and it buffed everything, I drew the next one and it buffed everything, I then drew into like smuglers run and buffed everything again.

Blizzard just announced that there will be another daily quest event starting next Tuesday, and running for two weeks. Every daily quest you complete will give you a pack from one of the expansions that will be playable in Year of the Raven (Ungoro, KFT, K&C, Witchwood).

The best part about Legend is that you can play bad decks and still have it feel like the games mean something.

I've played about 10 games at Legend before tonight and half of those came when matchmaking was all messed up so I'm currently at the dumpster ranks and 4-0 with this random Master Oakheart Hunter deck I found online after looking through my collection and deciding it'd be fun to actually use Oakheart.

Here's a silly deck that cockblocked me with memes at one star away from Rank 5 tonight. This combo does healing pings for one damage each until the turn clock times out...so it wasn't infinite but it was enough. ALSO needs the Unidentified Elixir that gives Lifesteal so only a 1/4 chance of it even being in the deck. I'd say I wasn't even mad for losing to such a ballsy combo, but......I was a little mad.

I really like the Gnomenapper card, wish it would have made it through somehow. Obviously they would have to delay your opponents choice until the start of their turn so they couldn't run your turn timer down but dual discovers seems like a fun idea. Do you take the best card knowing your opponent also gets a copy, or do you take one of the others to try and keep it to yourself?

I really like the warrior card. It's subtly powerful in a lot of interesting ways, especially since some form of Aggro Paladin is surely going to be in the meta.

Any world where the rogue card is five stars is terrifying. That said, it's definitely an Arena bomb.

the rogue legendary annoys me. I hate high variance cards. yeah I get that the most common result will be a mix of good and bad legendaries, but there are going to be cases where people get all bad legendaries from it (which feels like shit) and where people get all good legendaries from it (which feels like shit to play against).

10 mana deal 5 damage to all minions

By arena bomb is that good or bad? It sounds pretty good to me. 9 mana play dopplegangster and add three legendary minions to your hand sounds pretty nice in late game arena. Fairly weak tempo turn but still puts something on the board while reloading your hand when you might be running out of gas.

Also has flexibility to work into turns on curve for 3 or 6 mana is nice.

The term probably makes more sense with regards to a Magic-style draft than 10.4 arena, but: basically, bombs are the cards you would pick above anything else, and would be willing to splash a second/third color for. If you look at the Lightforge tierlist, they're cards with ratings >150 or so (where e.g. a card with a 200 rating is worth "twice as much" as a card with a 100 rating).

it's sorta like tuskarr totemic, one of the more hated cards in hearthstone history, but with a wider range of outcomes and it rolls three times instead of just one. the only difference is that tuskarr totemic allowed the user to seize tempo early on while this card will allow the user to seize value later on. hard to say how it'll turn out since the two concepts may not be fully compatible.

Pulled a Millhouse Manastorm from a quest pack. I swear my last four or five Classic legendaries have all been garbage. Considering I'm still missing Ysera, Malygos, Deathwing, and Cairne, I'd say I've been relatively unlucky.

This is also the third Classic legendary in a row that I've pulled in which I previously owned and disenchanted (all before they changed the rules on legendary pulls).
