Not Hearthstone related but apparently Reynad's upcoming game (working title is "The Bazaar") is very F2P friendly. Each individual game involves you drafting an entirely new deck from one of multiple classes. There is no card collection to collect. Monetization comes from cosmetics and the ability to buy new classes to draft from.

This is from his stream. The Kickstarter should be up this week!

Wow with this card a warlock player could cheat out a free voidlord on turn 6! Sounds like it could be game breaking.

tbh i'm not very fond of the Beyond style, I prefer to the simplicity of the way the cards look in game. Most card games make them look that way and they look too... busy. It cheapens them somehow.

In order for it to cost 1 mana, you need to have already either A) run one of your minions into something, or B) played a different removal spell. Therefore you by definition already have means of dealing the 1 damage hunter's mark requires in order to become hard removal.

So what does the scenario look like where you'd rather have wing blast over hunter's mark?

I guess if you need to kill something that's protected by a taunt, and you don't have a second removal spell. Or if you just want to spend 4 mana for 4 damage on one card.

Yeah, that's fair. It just feels too similar to me. In that situation, it still doesn't remove anything with more than 4 health. So it's got a slight edge over hunter's mark in the early turns. Maybe the idea is just that, to let hunter survive to late game better.

It doesn't specify whose minion has to die. If you have a 1/1 and run it into something with 5 health, then you can Wing Blast and finish it off for 1-mana.

That's where it's basically an inferior Hunter's Mark though. Wing Blast is better against wide boards.

It's functionally identical to Hunter's Mark in that scenario. It's not "worse" than Hunter's Mark, it's just way more flexible for a less powerful effect. You won't usually be trading into giants with it but it can allow you to trade more favorably at times or just hardcast it to kill something with 4 HP and not trade at all.

Just had an unexpectedly long animation. Playing against a Paladin that's clearly just dumping murlocs for the quest, my Evolve Shaman for the five Shaman wins quest is really struggling. I've got two Healing Rain in hand, and since I'm low I need to use them. So, I tossed out Evolve on my board and without glancing at the results played both Healing Rain. Turns out I got a Blackguard. 24 little missiles he had to fire individually. Took forever but it cleared his board.

Yeah I realize my example wasn't realistic, but I was just trying to make a point. That point being, I think it's just "wing blast is better for small to mid range minions", full stop. Why is this Wing Blast discussion so complicated? Wing Blast is for killing a second minion after you trade to kill the first.

Or you simply pay four. Late in the game, that might be perfectly fine. But in the early going when you're tossing out token minions and trying to win the board, Wing Blast is a perfectly fine option for removal.

That's just a given though. Ostensibly if you are deciding when a removal is good you are thinking about how well it does when your opponent invests in a wider board of smaller minions vs investing in a single big minion

If your opponent has done something to create a board of big minions quickly via Nzoth or guldan or something, or you have allowed him to build a wide board of big minions over time, these types of cards are just not your answer to begin with.

The question is really, if ulti could have won or been in a position to win without having more than 3 minions. Like how far ahead was he at this point? It also matters like how many cards were in his opponents hand and how long he's been holding them etc. MCT is typically not a card I play around much by having 3 or less minions and the plan of like summoning a lot of minions and if he has like this one card AND that he gets a good result is better in most situations.
