because Kou's version of the S. Link is pretty good

also you should've joined the drama club instead of the band

not that Yumi is great but Ayane is pretty bad

I did soccer/band because the guide told me to (it said that the stat gains were different, so I didn't want to risk deviating). I definitely would have at least done drama otherwise because Ayane looks ridiculous

I've got to imagine you can max out S. Links going either way there with some slight alterations so I'm kinda surprised they didn't work it around the basketball team S. Link because just about everyone I've seen says Kou's is better than Daisuke's

but other than that I generally agree with your rankings of the non-party S. Links or at least they're close enough that I wouldn't quibble with them (well Fox being that high is kind of weird for me but that one definitely has some fans)

My party member rankings would look pretty different, but P4's cast is so darn great that I can't fault anyone for having a different opinion.

Anime Narukami is an absolute treasure. The P4 anime gets bashed somewhat, but it's worth watching for what they do with him alone. I honestly think they handle some scenes better than the game did, too, although saying such a thing probably qualifies as blasphemy to some people...!

Also, it's a shame you're going to miss out on all the bonus content from Golden, but I would not recommend watching the Golden anime to compensate for it. That one was bad. You would probably be very confused by it, too.

I guess on the plus side I avoided repeating my experience of grinding lines for the Futaba unique lines trophy for like 6 hours beyond when I didn't notice I obtained it...! (From what I've read the Rise trophy has a lot less leeway)

Yeah, I'm sure you can too. Although in the case of Kou/Daisuke, it's possible the guide also elected to avoid the headache that is collecting all the books if you choose Basketball. Since at least one (maybe two) of the books are gained from hangouts with Strength but with Kou you need the rank at certain spots at certain times or else he won't call to send an invite. Daisuke doesn't have that issue.

Yumi/Ayane probably is more of a stats thing, although in the case of either Strength or Sun I don't recall all too well how any differences are there or even if they exist.

As for cast rankings, Rise at #1 good list.

Mine would look something like: Rise > Kanji > Naoto > Yosuke >> Yukiko > Chie >>> Teddie

Rise Trophy was definitely tougher than the Futaba one. P5 has more status effects and an extra character.

For me its Yosuke > Naoto > Kanji >> Chie > Teddie > Yukiko > Rise. Not counting Narukami because that just isnt fair.

The top 3 are so close, and again, theyre all good characters at minimum.

I think I did Daisukes version of Strength in both my playthroughs (whoops). However, can confirm that Ayane is awful and Yumi is perfectly fine.

Also, P4A Kings Game is one of the greatest scenes in animation history.

Yeah, there are a few lines you only get if you're facing enemies that are like 5 levels higher than you're party. I don't think it's too many though, most of the lines are tied up in the individual character status effects and debilitations.

I played P5 on Easy so I wasn't even close to getting the Futaba trophy. Worth it for being able to beat the game maxing all social links in under 80 hours though!

Well for P5 at least I think there were 45 lines for entering battle:(advantage/normal/disadvantage)x(red/yellow/blue enemies)x(1/2/3/4/5 enemies), so you could easily lose 15 of those (or 30 if you were really overleveled). Not sure if there were that many distinct lines in 4 or not.

re: Star Door 15 on PSP: Yeah. Basically, you get the two intro sentences (as in, literally not even all of the intro), then it skips all the way to when Loewe and...Joshua(? I think it was him?) find her at the end, but doesn't even show the image of how she'd scarred herself. It makes for an extremely confusing scene... Like, I can understand potentially wanting to lessen the blow, since this is so far above and beyond anything else we've encountered so far in this universe (wanting to not get the equivalent of an M rating is understandable, from a business perspective), but the event no longer "works" in any sense.

In keeping with the results of another poll (Which game on the SNES Classic that I've never beaten should I play first?), I started up Super Metroid and played for about an hour. I've played the game before, but I only got a couple hours into it before I dropped it. I had forgotten how cool the intro to this game was. I can only imagine how mind-blowing that was experiencing it back in 1994.

Anyway, I don't know how to describe how far I've gotten other than by what I've found so far, so I've got the Morph Ball and Bomb, Missiles and Super Missiles, Charge Beam, and I just found the High Jump Boots. I haven't died yet, but I came close on a couple of the bosses so far. I'm bad at avoiding getting hit in this game, for some reason. I guess I haven't learned what the safe spots are yet.

None of the X-Men movies (which includes the Deadpool movie) are part of the MCU, so you can consider them "safe" watching.

the Fantastic Four movies too but I heard those weren't as good so whatever

That new Venom movie that's coming out isn't part of the MCU either, despite the fact that Venom is a Spidey villain, so that's a bit of a complicated situation. Marvel apparently isn't allowed to have the best Spidey villains, sadly. Well, Venom is more of an anti-hero than a villain in the long run, but you get the idea.

In more Super Metroid news, I now have the Varia Suit, Turbo Boost, and the Ice Beam. I did die against one of the bosses because I didn't figure out what you had to do until I was practically already dead, so I beat it easily the second time. I can't remember if I made it this far the first time I played or not, but I'm already dreading having to backtrack to all these places that barred me access because I didn't have the right equipment before and now I do. It was one of the more frustrating elements of playing Prime.

Wall jumping can be done from the start of the game. You don't need any power ups.
