So I've been reading these Star Wars comics. I've been reading the Vader ones and the mainline Star Wars ones that are basically there to fill in the gaps in the story of the original trilogy. I don't know if I'd say they're great per se, but they're certainly entertaining. Vader in particular is unintentionally hilarious in half of his dialogue. Well, I don't know if the writers intended for it to be funny, but Vader certainly does not.

Ugh. So I've been playing Witcher 3 for the past while since that patch I was waiting for came out and I was really enjoying it and things were going great... but now I've had 3 straight crashes.

First one happened in a situation I heard most complained about pre-patch (inventory menus getting huge) so I was like "welp, let me sell a bunch of stuff and hope that fixes it"

Then next time it crashed in gameplay and I was like "wellllllllp but uh... i have been playing a long time (ironically i was right about to stop), and come to think of it, that was true last time. Maybe I'll have to be careful not to play too long?"

And then today it crashed pretty fast. Ughhhhhhhh. PS4 seemed pretty hot too. I went and had it rebuild its database but I might be shelving Witcher 3 for now and just pray this is a game-specific problem and not my PS4 dying. I saw on the boards for it some people are getting crashes too so it's not just me, but augh it was fine for a long time and just these past days. I guess it could be something like that Skyrim issue I recall where the longer you played the bigger the save file got as it had to track more things and it could eventually get too big and cause problems but argh.

Eh, I don't think Devil is that great other than just for the novelty that it's Tanaka. I'm a big fan of Hanged Man, but I also really relate to that one on a personal level. Sun is also really good. I like Empress and Strength a lot, but that's partly because I like the characters associated with them.

Name order in translation is a bucket of worms, is what it really comes down to.

I could probably rant about this for hours, but the short of it is that the fact that Japanese names are put in Western order at all is weird. While most East Asian countries use Eastern order, only Japanese people have it reversed for an international audience. Of note, Chinese individuals invariably put their family name first, and Korean individuals almost always do. Furthermore, Western names are always kept in Western order in Japanese texts.

Plus, Japanese people "active" before the late 19th century always keep Japanese name order. For instance, Tokugawa Ieyasu's family name is Tokugawa, and he is never referred to in English as Ieyasu Tokugawa. Meanwhile, for people active around the turn of the 20th century, it's a coin flip how the name should be rendered. Most notably, for Natsume Souseki, Natsume is the family name.

Not to mention that, when there's puns in the name, those often rely on the names being in the original order to work, and a decent percentage of those puns are based in English anyways so >_>

Well, I get it in something like School Rumble because Harima Kenji is supposed to sound like Harry McKenzie. Like, if the name has a pun involved, I understand. The School Rumble manga keeps the names in Japanese order (although the anime doesn't and so the joke with Harima being confused with Harry doesn't really stick). I don't think anyone in Toradora has a name pun though.
