It is really tempting with the native element boost stat sticks, but Maria's USB/LM show up again in later fests and a hyped ability x2 banner later with Orlandeau, Vivi and Tifa's USBs. It is one of the better weekly event banners (not saying much since most of them suck now) but the next fest and gen 2 chains are too close to warrant pulling on this one.

Onion USB wasn't in the top 2 so it probably won't be on that banner, if it happens. I would have way too many dupes to draw on that banner - among the top 2 USB, CSB, OSB, BSB, and SSB in the poll I have literally everything except Noctis's SSB.

Maria's USB doesn't come back for 5 months, which is too long for me to wait. Those banners do look great but I need an earth upgrade to fight Ixion now.

Yeah. Guy axes boost earth too so that's something. Although they're Axes which aren't exactly universally equippable. And Emperor Burst boosts Earth as well

I'll just have to get the Minwu Ultra in a gem draw someday if I want it, and use someone that isn't Maria for Earth backup.

An earth boosting axe is good for Bartz at least, but yeah Guy, Emperor and Leon being kinda dud characters is why I skipped this banner.

You can always get Maria's burst in a selection or the Library which is one of the few bursts that still sees use in magicite level bosses, or just wait until that ability double banner which has both the burst and bsb.

Rydia debuffed and I have Tidus' Arcane.

That's been around for a while, through the second and third imperil damage increase lessens with each stack so most people don't really bother stacking them. There's a couple of machinist abilities that can also imperil as well as that new darkness ability that just came out in the Cid/Nabbat event that does darkness imperil, they're random though.

I dunno if you have magicite yet but some of those summons also do imperils, that's the most popular way of landing imperils.

a second imperil isn't much weaker than the first. the only real reason not to do it again is because you're using magicite and can't or because it dies before you can.

I can't believe they still haven't fixed the Ramza soul break bug yet. It's seriously annoying me.

And yeah, multiple imperils are pretty good. I think the main reason they're not used as much anymore is that chains are just better. But if you don't have a chain and you have an imperil, go for it.

Aw yeah, Maria's ability double makes short work of Ixion. 25.36 first try, not counting a couple where I had my party set up wrong.

I have to admit, I'm not exactly sure what Savage Aerospark removes. It definitely seems to remove haste and shellga/protectga, but it doesn't seem to remove other party buffs? Does it remove wall?

Yeah I've unfortunately got like nothing for Bartz. Maybe I could just dive him with nothing anyway he'd probably be a pretty good earth user with just the dualcast but *shrug. Guess I have his Overflow and Water Burst. That's something.

You can always buy Bartz' USB in one of the Dream Selections later, it's one of the best bang for your buck USBs since he gets chases for 4 elements. Or whale for his glint later since it gives him the same spellblade quickcast and damage boost for half a meter (no chases through.)

So I had 120 mythril (a lot for me) so I decided to spend 50 on the holy banner as I have a few holy relics laying around from memory and I like almost all the characters for this bannr.

Got Beatrix' USB, Ramza's BSB, and Beatrix's BSB.

...I am going to be reviewing Beatrix now because I think I may have a shit ton for her <_<. Okay I actually just had her other BSB before. Two BSBs and a USB all doing holy stuff seems good to me though, time to see what other holy stuff I have!

(Of note for those that know me Beatrix and Ramza are two of my big favorites of the entire series, so this pull was very kind for both usefulness and fanboying)

That's definitely a good pull - Ramza's burst is great for any physical team and that USB for Beatrix looks solid. Her BSB2 doesn't work very well with the USB but her BSB1 can still be relevant because it has imperil holy.

And yeah, Tidus is a powerhouse, one of the top DPS in the game.

Beatrix's USB is a rank chase that does more chase hits based on how honed the holy ability is. It's very strong with a r5 assault saber dealing 11 hits.

I'm surprised you say it's good, doesn't look appealing to me. Galuf USB and Tifa USB1 both seem pretty weak. Ingus CSB and Dorgann USB are good, I guess I just don't care about either character. Anyway, glad I got Maria's USB and can afford skip this one.

Lost of native earth boosting gear is what makes it appealing. Galuf is one of the few native Hastagas for the FFV 2 Torment, Tifa USB1 is meh through, agree with you there though it still might see use with Gen 2 chains or poverty Cid Missions.

Beatrix USB + Onion Knight pUSB and another DPS should be enough to wreck it, just remember to dispel the shell/protect/haste when it uses overdrive. Also helps if you have someone with Astra to prevent the status effects.

Do PUSB and Shout give the exact same attack boost?

And if so do I have any reason to use Ramza any longer?

You can use Ramza for Chant, USB or his Gen 2 chain, the 50% damage boost won't stack so don't bother with Shout or BSB2 if you're using pUSB.

100 gemmed another Dorgann USB from the earth banner, even through it's a dupe a 6 star sword with earth boost is still really damn good (I was thinking of getting Ignis' earth boosting sword from the SSB select coming soon but now I can pick something else.)

I think my take aways from this are that holy crap do I have a lot of Holy stuff, holy crap do I seem to have a lot of useful Wind stuff, and huh I didn't realize I had so much dark stuff.

Right now I have just been collecting things and letting Tidus eat what he can basically by himself but I think I need to diversify a bit.

I use Ramza's USB all the time. But then, I run a lot of mixed teams, and I have Ramza's LMR which makes him hugely valuable for Magicite. (Usually I'm using his BSB2 or Fabula Raider with the first instant cast, than use his USB later or just entrust.)

Augh finally sub30 Tiamat!



God this boss is awful! Stupid Jet Fires at the end are so dumb, I have to save Sealion's summon for the end of the fight to avoid one for survival since they tear through Relm's stoneskins like nothing. I took a risk entrusting Rinoa so she could use her BSB2 for infusion and that was the little push I needed to squeeze a few seconds.

...and now I gotta farm this fucker...

It's kind of amazing how much difference one soul break or learning the right pattern can make in these fights. Ixion went from the hardest and most frustrating 4* Magicite to second easiest after I got Maria's USB. Tiamat is pretty consistently sub 30 now that I have the fight scripted out.

Having a level 80 Midgarsormr, Krysta and Dullahan also helped a lot. I got 3 more sub30 runs and I'm getting pretty consistent, as long as Ysayle doesn't get hit with magic absorb which alone ruins a sub30 run.

But the thing that helped the most was equipping armor with fire or wind resists along with an accessory that resists the other is more important than elemental boosts since Jet Fire is such a problem (Ysayle has the firewind shard so she can have the 40% boost though) Even if some that stuff isn't good for a mage team, I had Onion Knight equip Kain OSB armor for fire resistance and Shelke with Scott's cape.

Also I hated the Heaven Emperor Apoc+ fight, so many dispells and slowgas. Even worse is that he's the powered up boss in the next Crystal Tower.

Anybody doing the Lucky Draw tonight, I was because of Type-0 synergy but after reading Solitaire's writeup on Thursday's banner I figured I should spare that mythril for one or two pulls on that. I'm really good on 14 and 4 has too many bad relics since it's so old, no dupes on Thursday's either.

That's just a dream selection that has the option of mythril instead of being gem only, not really a true lucky. Realm lucky draw for the new dungeons have always been the same besides getting rid of unquies and unfortunately they're always going to have old bursts and supers unless there was a update to them in Japan I wasn't aware of.

At this point luckies with SSBs are just not worth it to me.
