Which of those characters are dived? With what you have I think you can probably just run him over. He's harder for physical teams but not impossible. You definitely want Zack, after that I think Bartz and Zidane are your next best, especially if dived. Zidane's trance mode with Dash and Slash is outstanding. You need some way to get haste - if you have Edge's SSB you can use him with raging storm, otherwise a buffer (preferably one that's not redundant with the +50% attack on Zack's chain.)

Why do you need to beat Hydra and Bismarck by 4am?

Bartz, Fujin, Luneth and Cloud are fully dived.
Zidane, Zack, are half dove
Cid and Fang aren't at all dove

And I do have Edges SSB. I forgot about that.

You don't have to fight 5 different ones. It's normal to farm the same one until you get enough Magicite.

You can only carry 5, and to say the game didn't explain how Magicite works well would be the ultimate understatement.

Seriously though just give Edge Raging Stormx8 or so and use the team Kaxon suggested. That should destroy him pretty easily without need for dive.

As for how many times to run a magicite, getting 4x of each 3* (so you can 99 all the 3*s) is a good base minimum which amounts to 12 runs of any given magicite minimum (even the worse base ones can be good for skill inheritance). Then you find the ones for each element that are better and you may want 4x more of those.

You want 4 copies of your magicites, if you want to get them to lvl 99, for the superior passive abilities (and better stats). So I think you should keep fighting ones you've already beaten.

Mom Bomb (free Imperil fire), Wendigo (free Imperil ice), and Enkidu (instant Medica+Esuna) are all magicites that you will be using for a long time, so getting them to lvl 99 will not be a waste.

When you get a magicite, its level caps at 50. You need 3 additional copies to raise their max level to 65, 80, 99 (similar to memory crystals for characters)

Ignus chain and Bartz USB should really be enough with Onion Knight pUSB for Hydra, you can even have Onion Knight help with the DPS with the earth ninja skills.

Golem isn't fun. I enjoy the ones I can straight up murder though (looking your way, Fenrir). Unfortunately, Sealion is the only one that I've gotten 4 of each 3* magicite from, so I still need to run all the other ones.

Surely some suck and arent worth it.

Also, are any of the 1/2s worth anything at all?

No because most of them will be obsolete when you get the 4* magicite equips. Just focus on Enkidu, Unicorn, blinks and imperils for now, level up the other ones if they will help you beat 4* magicite but if you can win without them you can focus that exp and arcane on 4* equips and won't have to beat the bush with them.

2 * magicite is decent as inheritance fodder since they level up faster but there's not much reason to equip them over 3* stars.

Got the last two silver dragons and slyphs from Tiamat, I got 3x4 for all the *4 magicite I can sub30, so I want to get another one to get some new magicite to collect. Tried Kraken with Orlandeau or Lightning with entrust bots but that didn't go so well, I get close but either savage watagea or kick kills someone or I can't do enough damage to clear the sub30 mark if I use too much meter on Relm, figured 3* Lightning Magicite isn't cutting the mustard so I had to fight Ixion.

Also a huge pain in the ass, I was wanting to wait until Earth Saber is out and the next crystal tower so I can get enough 5* motes to dive Dorgann, but I grinded a Darkmare to level 99 earlier so I gave it a shot. I got super lucky with a triple strike and 8-hit chase with Bartz and got another sub30 under my belt!

Hey guys, I have about 130 mythril. Is there anything out of this world that I am missing on either of these banners? Nothing jumps off as 'oh my god' good and I was thinking of, for once in my FFRK life, just saving my mythril for awhile.

I would say no...

The Earth banner is probably objectively bad, with only 1.5 killer items.

The water aint bad.... but there is better coming for banners.
unless you already have Yuffie,s Aosb... then go nuts.

All the USBs on the Type-0 banner are top tier even in Japan, but the rest of the banner is meh.

Personally I would just save up for the next fest unless you're trying to get into magicite, those Gen 2 chains are worth waiting for.

I know powercreep and all, but literally a reforged 8*+++ SSB at level 30 loses out on raw strength to a regular SSB with no further enhancements.

To be fair Lighting's SSB1 is super old, like two years I think? King's also one of the last supers since Ignis is the last character to get a super and starting with Barbarica supers will stop being made.

Finally got around to cleaning out all the remaining 3* magicite last night

Went Rydia Guy Emperor Mog Sarah for Hydra
Minwu Agrias Rydia Mog Sarah for Shadow Dragon
Cloud Seph Seymour Mog Sarah for Mist Dragon

Sub 30'd all of em except Mist Dragon which I think is doable (beat it in 32.05 and got unlucky with the timing of the mist dissolve)

I'll finally get to test my mettle against a 4* magicite soon when I get around to it. Probably will try the water weak one or the fire weak one first.

Better get to it because Cid Missions are ending next month and while some are being carried over to the new Library of Guidance (or Acolyte Archives as they're calling it now) like the torment d200/300 Cid Missions and weekly/monthly mythril but the Cid Missions that give Arcana for leveling up magicite to 50/65/80/99 and the mythril rewards for beating the first 6 and Holy/Dark *4 magicite will not carry over.

What's the difference between Catastrophe and Earth Guardian's ultra skills? Catastrophe reduces the enemy's lightning damage, and Earth Guardian raises your party's lightning resistance. Is one of these better than the other?

Random funny thing

If you're righting Mombomb, and you twincast an attack that hits all targets with the death blow on her second form, the second cast will hit all the 6 bombs even though they have technically spawned yet, and if it does lethal damage to them you win the fight without Mombomb exploding.

How are you guys doing the 4* magicites? I took my true A-Team to Kracken and I can't seem to get anything going because I am taking so much damage. I have fully record dived TG Cid (TG OSB), Kain (USB), and Lightning (Glint, BSB, OSB) w/ Ramza doing the Shouting and Yshtola for healing.

Kraken was designed to counter the popular lightning users with his counters (and to bait people into chasing Shantotto and Ashe' relics since it's much easier with mages) so if you're going physical honestly the best option is to have 3 entrusters and batterying up Orlandeau and spam his OSB so you avoid the counters.

Also another problem is Y'shtola's lack of an instant medica really kills her viability in 4* magicite because of their speed being too much for the 3 second cast times which is why instant medica are so valuable. If Y'shotla is your best healer then your best option is to give her the Gathering Storm record materia to cut her cast times down.

Also another note is that Kraken's savage waterga reduces your team's resistance by 30% so shellga is extremely important to have.

Marilith sub-30! Eiko, Ramza, Yuffie, Paine, Tidus. Everyone has USBs except Ramza (Shout/LMR), everyone is dived except Paine.

I believe the keystone mechanic goes away before 5* magicite come around (Magicite become available normally, but no longer give orbs/crystals) so I guess it's time to burn through my stockpile of keystones and rack up some Fire Crystals.

I think this is doable with just Minwu as a healer I just need to sandwich his Ultra in between the first and second Firaga when she starts going nuts with it.

Once Marilith enters weak phase (below 40%?) she always uses Ultimate Firaga twice in a row. I use Bismarck as my Magicite to deal with that; he's an instant cast Fire Blink, so my party eats the first one and then Bismarck catches the second.

Of course, sometimes Marilith uses Ultimate Firaga at random, gets hit below 40%, and then follows it up with the two scripted Ultimate Firagas. Good luck with those runs. :(

How are you guys doing the 4* magicites?

If you're just getting started, I would recommend bringing two healers, a buffer (with Wrath/Entrust), and two DPS characters. Transition into a more offense-heavy setup once you have a feel for the fight, and some 4* magicite of your own.

Actually the keystones go away when the first *5 magicite show up, which should be in August/September (or earlier, which I hope doesn't happen since that would cost us crystals/orbs.) We should be given a notice like what they did earlier with how Cid Missions are going away.

Man I got the same lousy 3* claymore from both the free draw and the 100 gems, why couldn't those odds give me a five star or something. I'm still bitter over my crapshoot at the Type-0 banner.

So how do you keep your team alive while spamming OSB? Also, with Yshtola, I give her Mako Might and use Asylum whenever I take the first group attack and use the Insta heal there. I have Vanille and Eiko if I need an instant heel SB

Eiko's probably the best choice then. You can also have her use Valigarmanda to build meter faster since it's a *6 skill that hits weakness and can help kill the tentacles if you want to go that route. To keep yourself alive have one of the entrusters give some meter to Eiko once in a while to keep a bar in reserve when last stand gets used up.

God I hate this boss so much, I'm so bitter I didn't get Lighting's AOSB with all the trouble this bastard put me through. Also bless the person who buffed glints early, I though Lightning's was useless with her USB but that instant cast got me through the magic pixel!

I can fight Hades and Siren now, probably can't sub30 either yet but I'll have to beat them for that Cid Mission's mythril before it goes away.

Looks like Japan is getting a colab with some Valkyrie Profile mobile game (no characters so we're probably not gonna get it)

I don't think you should regret the fest banners, they were good. The wind one especially was really good, and five 6* instead of four is a pretty big advantage. I would pull on that banner again right now if it were available.

I actually really want Zack's USB and this is half price so I'll definitely be pulling here.

Even through I said no mythril till the fest I'll do the half off here, only two dupes (Cloud USB and Red XIII LM) some more goodies for Zack would be nice even through I can wreck Midgardsormr already.

Really could use a good new relic right now to cheer me up since my last pulls have been awful and now I'm struggling against Siren. I did get two more sub30's on Kraken so I can get the level 99 Cid Mission arcana, so I took a shot at Siren today figuring I could at least beat her for some *4 holy magicite to level up and clear more Cid Missions and I can't even beat her with my Sub20 Mist Dragon team even edited with for her tricks. Kuja still does good damage and the piercing aftermath of his USB helps a lot, but Raines does pitiful damage outside of his OSB, it's the last phase where she 100% counters everything with a 9999 heal ala Torment Bahamut I can't get past, she even counters soul breaks.

I guess I'm gonna need a new dark DPS over Raines since he's not cutting the mustard anymore. Though I already tried 3 entrusters and spamming Kuja's USB for ultimas but that didn't do enough damage.

Do you have Raines's BSB? He was doing okay damage for me, I think it was around 20k but it's instant with 35% doublecast so that's not bad. Shadow was my main DPS though, ninja skills are just so good, especially with infuse-dark.

Siren doesn't counter Soul Breaks. You basically want to unload with your OSBs when you get to that stage of the fight.

I saw her counter Kuja's Ultima so maybe there's a loophole there.

I have Raines' BSB, he doesn't seem to be doing enough damage to really be worth it, especially around the healing phase, he's better off wrathing for his OSB. I only really keep him around for the magic boost. I don't have Kuja's OSB either but I guess I'll pick up in the OSB selection next week since he uses memento mori anyway.

My physical dark probably can't cut it either, I have Riku's USB but only his USB which probably isn't enough, Sephiroth OSB, LMR and BSB2 and to show how bad my physical dark is my third best option is Vayne BSB.
