I'm sad they changed Mercy. Her ult used to be the resurrection, and it would heal any dead teammate within your line of sight. They changed it because it encouraged "passive play" or something, but my favorite part of mercy was doing a clutch, game changing ult that revives 3/4/5 teammates

I know she got nerfed at some point but yeah that's a pretty huge change. I'm guessing she's pretty popular with noobs though because it's really easy to be helpful with her

I had fun playing as Reinhardt

Looks like the golden knights and capitals are both creating plenty of chances tonight. This one might come down to who scores last. Some big stops or some big saves might be the difference at this point

It's really going to boil down to staying out of the box, sticking to the gameplan, getting pucks deep, keeping it simple, having all 4 lines clicking, and finding those pockets

Cool the same two fucking teams in the finals for the fourth straight year

Maybe the NBA should make some new teams so we can have them get to the FInals

it's going to happen, and when it does, a funny thing is that VGK will be exempt from the seattle expansion draft

Think of how close Boston and now Houston were to breaking up the repeat finals matchup. The Celtics really had the Cavs where they wanted them and couldn't close the deal. Obviously I'm glad they lost though.

Not me. I'm not bad enough... eventually ones just gonna drop in if I'm shooting that many. Can't help it. Body and subconscious won't allow me to embarrass myself when I have the skills

Like of half of each team's shots are threes. The NBA is crazy nowadays. I don't entirely hate it but it's dumb when everybody's so reliant on it that a team can miss 24 in a row and still only lose by 10ish

I mean, the ship sailed a while ago. As soon as the four conference finals teams were set it was evident that it was going to suck. But at least we didn't get Boston, so now I can ignore the NBA Finals somewhat contently

I have a theory that the golden knights are going to win the whole thing for two non statistical reasons. 1) there's no precedent for what they've done so far in any sport so they might as well just finish it off and 2) the other most ridiculous example of a miracle run was the 07 Rockies and they only lost in the end because it became extremely depressing. The golden knights can win because if they lose it will still be a good result and as we all know sports favors a bad result so there's no cosmic disadvantage as there would be if they were playing Pittsburgh

They had to win like 15 out of 16 games to finish the season to even get in which they did with a bananas one game playoff against the Padres, then they swept the Phillies and the Diamondbacks (so they had one 21 out of 22 at this point or thereabouts) and then ran into the Red Sox and got swept themselves. The entire world was relying on them which is why they failed

Don't forget that the Rockies had eight days off before they faced the Red Sox. They might have lost to Cleveland too (the whole NL was weak that year), but it was very clear that things were going to be bad after they had so many days away from their big streak and then had to face a Red Sox team riding a huge comeback run of their own

I think that was back before they reduced the number of off days in the playoffs, wonder how it would've gone with the new schedule

I don't really buy into the excuse that they a team loses a series because they won their previous playoff games too quickly. The Rockies run was absolute mayhem and I badly wish they had finished it off but the boring and to me probably true answer is that the Red Sox were a much better team and were favored in every game of the series and so they won just cuz. And even so the Rockies probably had at worst like a 40% chance of winning every matchup but they got whooped all the same.

That was a pretty historically weak NL in 07 too but I'm not sure how much that matters. The Rockies were as good as any NL team. The Diamondbacks were awful but somehow had the best record in the league.

Eight days is a long time off for baseball, but there aren't really many times where you have one team with a long layoff going against another team that played recently, so it's not like you can really conclude anything statistically.

He's constantly saying dumb and contradictory things so it's entirely possible that he conveyed he was done when you saw that

I don't know if any of you still own any retro consoles (or at least I don't recall that you still play), but if you do, how do you hook them up? Do you just use a modern TV, or does anybody still have a CRT they can use?

I wanna play some stuff (mainly Metroid Prime right now), but I kind of can't stand how they look on modern TVs. I have a CRT, but it isn't really easy for me to set up at the moment. And I don't really want to continue lugging a big ass TV around every time I move, but it's hard to use an HDTV anymore. You can get stuff that makes it look good on HDTVs but the total price of the processing equipment and cables ends up costing as much as like a 40" TV nowadays

I have two CRT tvs. One is a back up in case the other one breaks that I connect a Playstation 1 and N64 on. My PS2/3/Gamecube/Dreamcast/Wii are connected to a HDTV.

A couple of old buddies I've known since middle school were in town for the last couple of days so we hooked up my N64 to my HDTV to get some old school multiplayer action going on. It looked pretty bad but you gotta do what you gotta do. We got used to it after a short while.
