I guess. Houston above GS mainly for something different, but they are hard to get excited about. If the Cavs win though it makes it awkward for LeBron; he'd have to stay, right? Fuck that, that's boring. I feel like if he stays in Cleveland or goes west it's pretty much guaranteed the Celtics win the East for the next couple years, which sucks. Philly would be alright but that's too much of an easy choice. Some place unexpected like Milwaukee would be cool but that'll never happen. Or Denver! Shut up, I can dream

Mookie Betts actually leads him 3.8 to 3.5 on Fangraphs. Trout is Trout but Betts is just stupid this year. I'm sure, barring injury, Trout will be at the top by the end of the year though.

I want both of them to finish above 11 WAR.

The only annoying things about Mookie are 1) he plays for Boston and 2) MVP voters will bend over backwards to give him an MVP over Trout. And as of now, it would be fine, but like I said I know at the end of the year Trout is gonna be better because he's Mike Trout god damn it.

I think baseball writers have really overlooked how historically great Mike Trout is. Maybe now they're finally catching on a little, idk, but calling him a generational player still feels like an undersell.

I just finally read that post Sam Miller wrote about Trout that's been going around the last couple weeks about how even when he doesn't get a hit his WAR often goes up because he contributed in other ways. I had heard this before but it bears repeating that he's getting faster. It's one (stupid) thing to develop the best batting eye in the world as he has to go with the more common power increase that he's also experiencing, but to actually notice that you're getting slower as your power hitter body develops and then finding a way to counteract that is basically unprecedented. His speed and center field defense are elite again when just a couple years ago he seemed to be trending toward a future as the best hitter in baseball who would eventually move to a corner outfield spot.

The best thing about Trout is that he develops tiny holes in his game and then fixes them until they become a strength. He's been doing this for years and it's how his walks keep going up and his strikeouts keep going down, but now he's even fixing things about his game that weren't bad (his very good speed) by improving his body's performance. Saying the things he does are stupid is also an undersell because they're not just stupid, they should be impossible.

Lastly, I love that he and Ohtani play together because they are my two favorite players, but I hate that they play on the west coast. Most times Ohtani pitches I don't even think to look at his line until like 12 hours after he's finished because I've been sleeping and getting ready for work and whatnot. Trout I end up checking in on like every few days

I hope game 7 goes multiple over time, push both teams past their breaking points

The Mega Man Legacy Collections hit the Switch today. It's been a while since I've treated myself to a new game but I can't decide if I should get either of these. I mean, I already own 1-6 in multiple forms, but it would be convenient. I might just go with 7-10 but annoyingly that collection costs more for some reason

The game I keep thinking about buying is Splatoon 2 but that may never happen because I'm very wishy-washy. I'm probably gonna cop Mario Tennis next month as well as the Mario + Rabbids DLC where you play as DK.

It advertises that there is reduced slowdown, but I can't really find any info on how well it works. I'd be interested to see that because I don't think they included any kind of slowdown reduction in previous re-releases. Mega Man 3 in particular was really bad with that, it would be nice to finally play a non-broken version of the game

Did you ever play Battle Network? Those were p cool

I've only played the classic series and the first X. I'm looking more forward to the X collections for that reason. The only games in the current collections I haven't played are 7 and 8

I got the Mega Man Legacy Collection on PS4 as part of the recent Capcom x Sega Humble Bundle, but I don't know if i will ever play it. I hate old school 2D games like Mega Man and Castlevania because the enemy spawns being ass is one of the few things that frustrates me to no end.

I have played a few of the X games, which I enjoy more because the controls are less rigid.

Battle Network games were an interesting idea but I never got too far on the couple that I played. I like the idea of having to move your character during battle to dodge attacks.

Greg Holland sure is bad at pitching.

A weak possession by Houston followed by a laughably bad one by Golden State to end the game. The NBA is wack.

The Brewers bullpen is ridiculous right now, especially with Knebel back. It hides the fact that they have no starter worth talking about.

Do you guys remember thedarkcrusader? Of course you do and of course you probably hated him because he was awful. Anyway recently I was reminded of one of his old signatures and now I have to tell you all about it too. He had one of those old PotD like stars people used to put in their sigs oh 12 years ago or something and then it said in italics "I could care less if the cake was a lie, I'd still want to share it with you." The abject horror of that signature has been haunting me for days

I don't entirely remember that but I can picture it. I remember his sig being "WTF ARE IN? THIRD GRADE?".

Is the "star" thing that weird symbol that everyone thought looked like a vagina? Was it supposed to be a vagina? I never quite figured that out

I was just thinking about TDC a few days ago. Sometimes I thought he was okay, but usually he was very pretentious. I don't remember the star thing but I do recall the third grade thing. He also always talked about doing shrooms and going to Minus The Bear concerts.

That symbol must have been some Paradiso thing (or one of those offshoot boards). I may complain about PotD now but one thing I don't miss from back in the day is hearing about those. Everyone is a lot less cliquey overall now.

We were talking about Breaking Bad on ProM one time and this dude Zersch was going through it and something he said made me go "oh no, you're probably one of those guys who thinks the super lab is cooler than the RV, aren't you?" And he freaked out on me for being an elitist and then when I said it's not that serious he said "you can't just take a shot at someone and then tell them how to feel about it"

That's a funny interaction and it's funny that you still remember it after all this time

TW... now that's a name I forgot about. It's crazy to think of all the people that have come and gone over the years. I wonder what happened to them and what exactly made them stop posting. There are probably hundreds of names that I couldn't name off the top of my head but would recognize if somebody mentioned them

That interview I had last Tuesday, at the end of the interview we talked about how we were going to move on to the next step, and now over a week later I'm still waiting back on that. I know I'm probably just being impatient but is it wrong for me to worry about this? They had been so quick with everything else up to this point. Maybe there is stuff they are waiting on but I don't see why they can't at least schedule me right away even if the actual interview is like a month out. I really hate being left hanging like this, and every single goddamn company does this kind of shit. It makes me feel like I'd just be better off starting my own business, or not want to be part of the industry at all but that probably happens in every industry because working life sucks

I did follow up with them last Friday and they said they're getting it figured out. So I guess they're probably doing something but IDK, it always makes me uneasy. I probably freak out too much but I've also been around the block enough to know that companies will just ghost you for seemingly no reason even when you thought things went well

Even if it somehow doesn't end up happening, the fact that the owners approved it is a brutal (if predictable) indictment of the league.
