I'm not the biggest fan of the Gun Gale Spin Off, I'm entertained, but it's not my favorite. But is by far leagues better than the dumpster fire the main series is.

The gun love in GGO makes me realize how little attention swords in SAO got.

They are treated mostly as stat sticks, while GGO goes a bit more in depth on each gun's characteristics.

I can agree with this. If you're into the mechanics of the world(s) or the combat specifically, the GGO side story has actually been leagues better so far in these regards imo.

lol nevermind, it ended up just being sarcastic I guess but I didn't read the whole tweet because all I saw was "Mitsuru died" and clicked off. I'm shocked how well that Ichigo/Ikuno situation went.

Also I gotta say, I'm very perplexed by these higher up adults. They want to erase their memories and not know shit, but then they leave around stuff like the wedding rings that could potentially reawaken those dormant memories? I'm torn between thinking they actually WANT them to achieve total competence and that this is all a huge test for humanity or some shit, or they're just TERRIBLE at their jobs.

5 episodes of Jojo part 4 beated. I think episode 7 was actually the last one I saw so Ill be caught up tomorrow if I dont get too distracted by the new Overwatch patch.

I just finished watching both seasons of Snow White with the Red Hair. I hadn't intended to watch it this quickly but once I got started I wound up really liking it. Shirayuki was a great character and the whole thing just felt really enchanting.

I appreciated how Shirayuki always tried to rescue herself whenever she got into trouble. She was also strong when it came to her specialties (herbs and whatnot) without seeming totally perfect. I loved the romance too, they were always cute together and it was the perfect mix of having drama without becoming dominated by it. I feel like there were a lot of ways a story like this could've become too dark and edgy but it managed to remain fun throughout.

Wish fulfillment is something like sao where Most things just fall into place because youre you.

Not wish fulfillment is something where you need to do stuff to get desired results. Like in dxd issei might have his choice of boobs but he still has to go through ordeals and make clear efforts to become someone who he thinks is worthy of said boobs

Same with something like keijo. Nozomi might be a prodigy but she still had to work for her accomplishments.

There is very little conflict in Snow White with red hair.

DxD is certainly just as much wish fulfillment as SAO. It's not like Kirito never suffers (trapped in the game for two years, has his friends die). Honestly DxD might be considered even more wish fulfillment-y since the protagonist isn't an overpowered cool guy but more of an everyman who gets all the girls even though he fails.

Not sure what having conflict has to do with a show being wish fulfillment.

Because conflict means you need to actually work to overcome something, usually by going beyond the means you had when the conflict started. Or by gaining a better understanding of the other person, yourself, etc. its more than this is bad and I want this to happen so it does without me really doing anything

Looking at manga sales, I'm always puzzled a Dungeon Meshi anime hasn't been made yet.

The manga itself is good so I'd want an adaptation anyway, but it would also help give some exposure outside of Japan for it.

I just finished watching Shirobako and it left me with mixed feelings. On the one hand, it was exceedingly interesting to see more about what actually goes into the production of anime so I really enjoyed those aspects. Sadly, the actual plot and characters never really resonated with me so a lot of the drama and personal stories fell flat. Still, I'm glad that I watched it just for the perspective it gave me about anime.

Also, I wasn't a fan of a lot of things in the second half. About six seconds after that 'funny story' jerk was introduced I immediately guessed the entire plot and I knew I wouldn't enjoy it. Ah well.

I pretty much agree with you. I recommend bakuman if you want something similar but with more compelling characters and plot. it's about manga more than anime though.

Shirobako was okay.

My memory's a bit vague, but from what I remember I thought the anime got too focused on logistical issues within the story and it just wasn't interesting anymore. Though it did get good again by the very end.
