Thinking more about it, I doubt Dixie will be in. It would have been perfect to introduce her as a Diddy echo in the trailer with King K. Rool and add her to the heroes fighting him, but she was nowhere to be seen. She might be DLC or something, though.

I doubt that leak is real. If you assume Chrom will get in, then you'd know he'd be a clone. You'd know he likely wouldn't be a Marth echo since he already has one, so you'd guess either Ike or Roy. It's impressive, but it is guessable.

really surprised how many people are expecting Incineroar, especially after Decidueye was already added as the new gen rep in Pokken Tournament

If there's a new gen Pokemon I'd say there's like a 95% chance it's Decidueye

The only reason I think Incineroar has a chance over Decidueye is because a lot of stuff Decidueye does is already found in other characters. There's more than one bow character, and throwing the feathers feels like it'd be similar to Sheik's needles, and so on

Incineroar being a wrestler on top of the fire stuff feels like there's a chance for them to play with his moveset more

Some things on Skull Kid:

1. If his Final Smash isn't The Moon, it could still be Majora's Wrath or any of those final boss forms.
2. ...and honestly, if he's not a playable character, it's kind of weird that he has no part in The Moon Assist Trophy when it comes out.
3. He was an Assist Trophy in Smash 4, but hasn't been shown yet.
4. Several characters that were custom DLC Mii sets in Smash 4 have upgraded to playable characters to being playable characters. The Majora Mask was a DLC Mii equipment in Smash 4. I mean it's listed as 'Majora Mask' and not 'Skull Kid', but...close enough?

Another important thing I didn't realize until now, all stages are playable in 8 player Smash.

That's huge. I've always been somewhat disappointed about the weirdly limited stage selection for 8p in SSB4.

The ability to turn off stage hazards should make the majority of stages tournament-legal, right? The only illegal ones would be huge stages like Temple and things with gimmicks that cant be turned off like Big Blue.

Don't the Animal Crossing stages have relatively low 'ceilings', whilst still being tournament legal, which is why characters who are good at killing off the top like Bayonetta and Diddy have an advantage there.

Stages with ceilings and walls are out by their standards. The BotW stage is already off the table.

There will probably end up being a push to ban a lot of stages just for the sake of having stage selection not take an eternity. With the stage strike counterpick system that Smash tournaments have generally used, dealing with, say, 50 legal stages would take forever.

They don't like having a lot of stages to pick from in the first place. Halberd was legal in most Brawl lists but banned for Smash 4. Dream Land 64 is a counterpick despite being a starter in both 64 and Melee.
