Miiverse is still the best stage Nintendo ever made, nothing will evet beat me and my friends taking turns drawing characters on the wii u gamepad. Splatoon kept its miiverse features, it seems weird smash wouldn't

maybe it will be good for 8 player.
I think some combination of needing every stage to work in 8 player and needing every stage to work with stage morph is what kept Pokefloats and the vertical scrollers out

also Pokefloats is from Melee so they would have to actually recreate the art completely unlike New Pork which was probably like no effort

I always wonder what 3rd party character negotiations look like. Like let's say Sakurai goes up to SquareEnix and asks for Bub and Bob for Smash. Do they just name a price while looking puzzled? Technically, Bust-A-Move is still an active series with games coming out.

They also have to do this with first party characters from what Sakurai has said. I'm guessing it varies depending on the creators, but apparently some of them have considerable sway over like how Mario jumps and stuff like that.

Brinstar Depths was a mistake, I meant to say Sector Z.

I grouped them by game because we have Mushroom Kingdom 64 but not MK Melee. Same with missing Pictochat but having Pictochat 2.

It's a bit frustrating when people are talking/complaining about how many reps each franchise has. Yes, Kirby is a bigger franchise than Fire Emblem, but the latter has so many characters, it makes sense more get in. It's not only a matter of what series are big and what's fair. Fire Emblem has more big characters than most series.

Yeah, it would be like combining the entire Final Fantasy series and complaining too many characters make the contest. Minus actual sequels/prequels the Fire Emblem games don't have much in common in terms of characters that appear.

Here's the thing about Fire Emblem - and this may sound bad - its fans care about about the series' big characters than other Nintendo fans care about the characters in their favorite series, because the characters tend to have defined personalities and play a big role in the plot. Chrom may be the 7th Fire Emblem character, but it was also openly stated in the Direct that he got in due to popular demand.

Lets use Kirby as an example again, because why not. I'll give people Bandanna Dee because I wasnt aware of his status as 'the 4th playable character' in games, but who in the world would come after that? Adelein and Prince Fluff aren't cutting it (sorry Johnbob). People simply wouldn't care, except the people who want more Kirby representation because ???

In contrast, there's tons of people who would be ecstatic if Hector or Lyn got in.
