There was never a specific time from what I notice.

After a set period time either a vague heads up is given in the middle or the noms form will just close when noms are slowing down.

I'm guessing noms will go for like 2-3 weeks. Then like another 1-2 weeks to make the bracket.

Then another 2-4 weeks to predict bracket

yeah I wouldn't mind having an All Fictional Characters contest cuz the only contest I ever missed out on was 2002 and to me that was the one to be here for

nobody knew anybody's strength so it was all a crapshoot. it would be great to recreate that one last time. the board's energy would be completely different.

however if Allen is bending the rules juuust a bit to get Geralt in then I'm good with that as well. I take whatever I can get. just having a contest is a small miracle

I always thought it was just the people behind the contests who were against including Batman and stuff for whatever reason/s they might have had. Id love to see anyone from any video game allowed in. Id also like to see the first appearance thing removed. Does it really matter what game the character first appeared in? I mean some of them first appeared in JP or EU only games first before getting an NA game or some were in several games, but only one or two was super popular and everybody thinks of that game when nominating them

Yeah I think originally the listing of the first appearance was to differentiate Raiden and Raiden but you shouldn't need to write "Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty" out for Raiden exactly, just have "Character" and "Series" so we only have to type "Metal Gear Solid"

I'm assuming SBAllen is asking for the first game to make it easier to automatically combine nomination. So most of the Mario nominations will get combined under Donkey Kong and reduce the number of other Mario nominations that have to manually get combined.

I guess Allen isn't saying anything about the non-game characters so people don't go around nominating them just for the novelty of it.

But... if he does allow it, it means we are about to get all the characters that normally get barred. Because I bet stuff like Goku and Batman get nominated every time.

This is a possibility.

Didn't CE have like almost complete autonomy over the 2002 bracket? Like, even way more than the B8 influence in 2013?

The other possibility is that those 8 characters are always so frequently nominated that it would take something drastic for one of them to miss the field and he's taking a pretty safe gamble here.

there was a thread on CE where they just suggested characters to CJayC and he whipped up a bracket. I think some characters might have been included without suggestions because fuck it whatever

but that's why the field was full of jobbers that Mega Man would get 90% on, yeah

I mean that's what CBIX was supposed to be with giving Noble Niners all the 1 seeds and giving us a special Board 8 seed so I don't know that he's going to do that again
