You might be right. If the hilarity of the scene overcomes my aversion to gore, like when *Kill La Kill spoilers* Nui got disarmed, then I should be okay. But if I watch the show, you still have to warn me about moments like these in advance.

And yeah imma drop goblin slayer, read up to whatever manga has translated (28 chapters) and its equally as bad as the first ep along the whole thing, it's almost like there's sprinkle of rape ever other chapter, and every chapter in between has some extreme gore lol.

At least figured that reading doesn't make me physically ill like watching stuff like that does...

Honestly the game is not bad, has some really nice scenes, and some other that if you can't stomach goblin slayer, you wouldn't stomach these either... the writing is ok and the combat is a weird mix between "everything dies to autobattle" to "you're gonna get destroyed by the same level boss"

The 5 second video sequence the manager showed them all in episode 2 is pretty gruesome and those "scenes" being in the trailer made me want to avoid the show... but that was completely misleading and everything else is hilarious

Oliver was the big one, the moment I saw him, I was thinking, he looks like he could Bruno's little brother or something. The other three of their group were more, well, they just really fit the Part 5 aesthetic. They wouldn't be out of place at all.

Watched Gridman episode 2

(spoilers)

So

It turns out Akane is female Takeshi (from the original series) after all.

Such an awesome episode. I love the way Gridman said "yo". Why is he so cute. I love Greenriver's voice.

I'm thinking the samurai guy and the rest of the suit people might also be Hyper Agents like Gridman. Obviously his allies. And it seems going by how samurai turns into the Gridman Calibur, the rest of the suit people turn into the support mecha. Man, I'm loving this show. I really hope this is a sequel to the original show. I'm looking forward to more!

I'm enjoying it. Angels of Death has enough substance and enjoyable stuff (especially the crazy cast of characters) beyond the horror/mystery aspect to keep me entertained, which is extremely rare because I normally despise horror/mystery anime.

I finished Planet With, that was a lot better than I was expecting. Also started watching Railgun with some friends on Rabbit and I'm halfway done with that, really liking it so far as well. Fucking swimsuit episode, though rofl.

Great show. Have you seen Index, the parent series that Railgun spun off of? Each of them can be watched alone without the other, but watching both gives you extra details for each side, plus they're both pretty good series worth watching.

I watched the second episode of Goblin Slayer. Definitely toned down on the explicit nature of everything. Was not exploitative.

There was some fanservice for a character, but that's not uncommon for MOST anime, so it wasn't anything egregious.

Today on Zombie Land Saga, which you really, really, really need to watch they had the most amazing thing ever:
Zombie idol rap battle Oh, and it's getting a dub too.

At first you had my curiosity, but now you have my attention. Let me know what other crazy stuff happens in the next couple of episodes (the simuldub doesn't premiere until the 28th, and by then the subbed version will have aired four episodes) and maybe I'll consider it once the dub comes out.

In that same episode, the one zombie girl's head goes "pop" with a hilarious popping sound off into the audience and lands on this old man's shoulder who just feeds her head that is nomming on his arm like it's a completely normal thing to be happening. It'd be easier to list what isn't absolutely insane in this show.

You had my attention, and now you lost it.

To be fair, it does have zombie in the title, not sure how you can't expect some gore whether light hearted or not

How did you feel about the deadtube shitpost I linked you in discord the other day (aka the only time I was in it >_>)? That's the pinnacle of goriness in manga from what I've seen. And corpse party/frankenfran, which are two things I think I recall you seeing.

I found out that animated stuff is the shit that makes me ill, i actually went and read the goblin slayer manga, and while all sorts of fucked up shit happens, it didn't bother me as much as seeing that shit animated so i guess there's that...

Also frankenfran was almost comical but somewhat dark, but wasn't awful, i'd say junji ito's shit is more unnerving than that...

So I've been playing Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and it got me wondering... has there been any character in the main series who calls Goku "Goku-kun"? Hearing the Supreme Kai of Time say that in XV2 felt kinda... new.

Wow... of all the classic anime for Pokemon to possibly make a reference to, I was not expecting them to throw in a shoutout to Revolutionary Girl Utena. But yeah, that is indeed Lillie and Mallow dressed as Utena Tenjo and Anthy Himemiya. This is an amazing reference for a few different reasons:

1) The original Pokemon Indigo League anime made its Japanese television premiere on 4/1/1997, just one single day before Revolutionary Girl Utena made its own premiere.

2) Rachel Lillis played the English voice of both Misty (in all of her Pokemon appearances except her recent return in the Sun/Moon series) and Utena Tenjo.

3) Yuri teasing? In my Pokemon anime? It's more likely than you think!.

I knew Utena was remembered as a classic, but I figured it was one of those underrated cult classics that didn't get as much love as the more mainstream stuff, not one of the mainstream genre-defining classics. I guess my assessment was wrong?
