my 0-0 opponent played my most hated card of all time, and then got a 1 in 4 MC Tech to buff all of his scarabs with my stormwind champion, so that was fun.

I had a feeling this run wasn't gonna go too well, really bad deck I drafted. overall my opponents have been making a lot of misplays this run, and it feels good to punish them, but there's just been a LOT of RNG undercutting it. up to this point there was barely any matches I felt like were bullshit... but in this run alone, I'd say 3 out of 4 have already featured a huge amount of bullshit (I'm now at 2-2)

so yeah big picture arena is still pretty good overall right now, but this run has been the stars aligning to be as annoying as possible

yeah that's true as a whole I suppose. honestly though to this guy's credit he wasn't making any misplays or anything either. I was beating him most of the game but it wasn't because he messed up or anything, I just happened to make a few good plays and stay ahead for a while. if anything the fact that I didn't pressure him faster while I was ahead on board could be called a misplay (assuming I had reason to suspect he'd be dropping atom bomb legendaries on me after playing multiple board clears).

in the end I didn't mark that as a 'bullshit' game. we both played well, his deck was better. it's dumb that we were both sitting at 2-2 when my deck sucked and his was strong. but if anything I just feel bad for the circumstances and for both of us. however this guy ended up at 2-2 himself was probably not a very enjoyable experience and likely involved a lot of MC Techs and other nonsense cards going off.

Giggling nerf was great for the game.

Surprising how much of a positive impact it's had, yeah.

I knew it would reduce individual blowout games (games that were completely one-sided because someone had their Blood Knight tech or their Mossy Horror tech). What I didn't expect was that removing it would drastically reduce meta polarity in general (confirmed by VS).

I actually have a lot of ex coworkers who work at Blizzard (they are also actively trying to recruit me) and I don't remember anything about free stuff. In fact, pretty sure some of the Blizzard employees I played with in Heroes of the Storm spent their own money in Heroes.

That said, it's under the Activision umbrella, and I have worked for Activision. I do know that employees at Activision get a free copy of the games they've worked on (and can order discounted additional copies). This is pretty standard industry stuff--games sold internally for $20 because they aren't trying to make a profit off of their own employees and cause GameStop isn't taking its massive cut (sold for $60 at GameStop).

This mostly goes for actual physical copies of games, though. I can't really think of any game companies that give away microtransaction stuff for free (unless it's "here's a cosmetic outfit to show that you're a dev, only devs get this.")

Well, since we have all been told that skill has never determined the outcome of any hearthstone game ever, we must therefore conclude that naturalizing your stonehill defender on turn 3 does not reduce your opponent's odds of winning.

Ulti sent me a resume which...yeah, looks legit. Lots of projects for studios that I recognize being large employers since I have friends who work at a lot of them, but not studios I'd expect B8 to know, including a lot of obscure Activision studios that I've worked with, but wouldn't really expect someone outside the industry to know.

All Activision credits, nothing on this resume from Blizzard, but that probably would give him access to Activision-Blizzard company benefits, whatever those are these days (last time I worked for Activision was 2010, so maybe they give out cooler stuff now IDK).

So I hit rank 2. I wasn't planning on climbing at all but I just played a few games when I didn't want to do arena. Players late in a month before an expansion are just both not good and playing pretty bad decks. Not even bad, just suboptimal lists or whatever. I mean I'm basically playing an old cubelock that has one boomsday card in it.

So now with like a week left I'm considering trying to hit legend. I'd be fine with rank 1 because it would mean I only drop to rank 5. Basically since it means I can experiment with new cards when they come out without worrying about rank.

and this is how we play around crushing walls.

turns out having two hench clan thugs, two fungalmancers, two deranged doctors in a class that desperately needs healing, and a lab recruiter to shuffle them back into your deck is

'pretty good.'

this hunter played hard removal every single turn from 2 to 5 (including poisonous minions), and literally had a turn where he played 'give your minions deathrattle: add a random mech to your hand' while he had like four things on board (hence why his hand is full of cards here)

and I still won, although it was definitely more close than this image suggests; he actually cleared this board with two of those 5/1 rush ragers, and something that did 2 damage to my taunt, I forget... but yeah, this wasn't the end of the game. I feel like one misplay in either direction could have really derailed the entire match -- pretty much the perfect game of hearthstone.

Hunter getting card draw wow

Although Im slightly confused by the wording, is it you discover then draw? Because drawing four cards is very good, unsure if it sees play though just because it means no Houndmaster or Kathrena or other really strong non beast cards where this is good but not amazing

looks mildly useful but:

1. lategame hunter combo decks can't really use it because they play a bunch of non beasts, and 3 mana to draw 1 is bad. much worse than anything else they could be doing.

2. aggro/midrange hunter decks generally cannot win games unless they close them out very quickly, due to the fact that control decks are so oppressively overtuned and have been for almost two full years now. this is a card for refill, but if you reach the stage in the game where you need refill then you have already lost. drawing 3 beasts is not going to do jack shit when your opponent just gained 80 armor and has 5 different taunts to drop in front of them.

Eh drawing 3 cards is still pretty useful, thins your deck for Deathstalker which is the win condition for Hunter

Then again tracking literally does the same thing, is cheaper, and can get you potentially better cards so it probably doesnt replace it unless the Loa is very good

I guess one deck that might use this is Subject 9 Hunter? Though losing Houndmaster and Shaw hurts a lot

Kazakus and Reno got to be standard together for 5 months and it felt like FOREVER.

I concede it might be good after rotation but I think you guys are clinically insane if you honestly believe drawing three beasts in aggro or midrange is going to do anything against a wall of taunts and more armor than you can possibly chip down... when the quality of each beast is going to be lower than the card quality of the control deck you're facing.

using the janky ass RNG based control cards that blizzard has forced upon hunter is not midrange. it's just some weird control which actually kinda sucks because despite cards like rexxar being very high power level they are wasted on hunter.

I loved the Witchwood meta, warts (Cubes) and all. This meta is just boring to me. But some people are loving it, and sincerely good for them.

But it's voices like Kibler and Zalae that publicly push for the control stuff and I swear, watching a reveal review stream, Kibler actually said "it's like they designed this card just for me!" And I honestly feel like they did.
