And one thing I really need to stress because scanners really screwed it up this game. You have to scan the people you arent sure of. Don't scan the people you think are scum. Don't scan the people you think are town. Scan the people you dont have the slightest clue on.

I dont know the golden age of mafia where games were limited to 17 was pretty great for board 8 mafia.

Also I come back mostly to help or for very fun games but the selfish paradigm I have embraced is things need to be fun. How do you think any player had fun dying night 1 all the time because hosts rely on crutches in order to host. This is a multi level critique because excuse me wanting to actually play but also as one of the more thoughtful hosts strongman just isnt elegant.

again, banning a balanced role isn't somehting you do because one person keeps dying.

Its an issue of "this needs to stop being in every game" moreso than an issue of "this role needs to be banned".

Didn't watch much of the game cause I was busy with work and the hydra game. The Terra and Han lynches were awful and I sent in guesses like D4/5 which were quite a bit off by the looks of it.

as far as my play went this game

Red suggested I try and do a guilty scan before he died and even though he died I thought that I could take out the strongest voice in town and let my team do the rest. They were pretty much all town read at the time and Han was the biggest doubter.

so I went ahead with plan war dog

Town played a really weird game this go around. As I said several times in the game I was busy irl so it is my bad for not being as engaged as I would have liked to be, but my lynch, Han's, and Pirate's choices were all so weird.

But overall GG of course. Couldn't plas as much as I wanted to, but this game was interesting to say the least. If we have another game in a week or so after I'm done with finals I'll definitely be more active as I usually like to be.

Also props to Geno for that weird flavor meta claim that really worked out in your favor. Your activity was way less than I expected from you, but I basically had you written off because of the claim.

I am not saying Terra made bad decisions, but it is unacceptable for so much time to pass and for a player to be unavailable. It's just not. If Terra counters that same day Pen dies, flips Untrackable, and Bat is confirmed because Untrackable is the counter to his role and the game plays out much differently. Instead a slot goes silent and town makes a poor decision because of it.

It was definitely my bad for not being here (as I said in game I literally COULD NOT post here at the time) but I call bullshit on town losing solely due to that. There were a lot of weird decisions from town this game, and you don't lose by a single action at the tail end of the game. I was clearly more active in the early game, it was only towards the end of last week where I became more busy than expected, so it's not like I was coasting the whole game and expected to be this absent. And at the time someone mentioned there was no replacing out so I assumed there was some board rule against it until I saw Harris do it.

There is no player or host that is going to stop me from saying that. You do not get to invoke the name of Chris in your play ever again. Secondly, this community is banning strongman or I am not playing anymore. It is a thoughtless, trash role that is made more thoughtless and more trash because it may as well be called a Kill Chris button. Mafia should be a game of skill. Not of thoughtless obvious play. I would love to hear the counter argument that mafia NEEDS an assured night kill like that given that it is almost exclusively used on me.

You are trying to put yourself above the game. You in one breath say you are above the rules of the game and no better than an Alakazam/firebolt while also saying you are banning a role banned nowhere just to benefit yourself.

I think the use of kills on specific people every game is not fun and boring, but I mean, you need to change the community, not the roles, for the most part.

Lot of thoughts, lot of feelings.

The problem with strongman is that it is a check for Scum against good players. Scum win because there arent enough good Town players. So it's not really a good check, necessarily.

With 6/18 players, scum needs 3 mislynches, and Town needs 6 correct lynches. A correct vig shot adjusts those numbers, but it's still way imbalanced.

The lack of neutral killers in set-ups is also a problem, as they are inherently balancing.

Scare's gambit on me was really poorly executed, but it was the right play because Doop and Ben were the only Town aside from me remaining with a pulse, so the trade made sense because there were so few threats to Scum left. I hate saying it was the right play. But it was.

Anyway, congratulations to @Forceful_Dragon who is my pick for Scum MVP for this game.

And, yes, host you need to make sure the scum team clearly knows they are scum and what the flavor split is. OH and role renaming quirks!

You very easily sent the scum team to the cliffs to die, which was luckily only miraculously worked out because everyone refused to use common sense all game. Geno's claim was so obviously scum that I couldn't in any way possibly not go after him as scum, and of course, everyone just as every game said I was scum for playing the way I do literally every game.

Hell, my replacement made 2 posts and everyone was like "oh I feel better about that slot now". LMFAO.

You guys call me scum every single game I play. No matter my alignment. At some point, you are going to have to do better.
