Ive been watching Ace weekly and thats it

Still keeping up with Shield Hero and Hitoribocchi. Finished Blend S and it was surprisingly entertaining in some parts although not much more. Just kinda biding my time for next season. Can't get a hold of Haibane Renmei beyond the halfway mark which is disappointing.

I feel like I want to watch some non-shoujo romance with actual plot (not "plot") or straightforward comedy which is straight up SoL, but there's not a ton that sound very good I haven't already watched. Saw the first episode of Love Live yesterday, and if I'm not careful I'm just gonna end up binging all of that (god help me).

Check out ef ~a tale of memories~ (and the sequel, ~a tale of melodies~). It's definitely not SoL and it's great.

I was actually checking out ef on MAL for some reason the other day. I think it's cause I somehow don't have any E titles on there and I wanted to watch one, so it was between that, Elfen Lied and Eromanga Sensei.

First episode of ef done. Could've done with a slightly slower pace at times, and it jumped round a lot. Definitely feels like a VN adaptation though that's not a bad thing (honest). I think the characters and emotions of characters came a bit fast as well. At least the story is likely to get interesting pretty quickly based on the start, and I'm also expecting some more drama I hoped to get from Isshukan Friends (which is my immediate thought based on the premise although this has a different tone).

Wooooh boy these last few JoJo episodes have been something else. New excellent music tracks, great music and atmosphere, and FANTASTIC directing. They're pulling out all the stops for the finish line.

If Viletta and Ohgi don't end up together in Code Geass I'm going to be so pissed.

Also, trying to decide whether or not to go to Megacon this weekend which has a ton of Anime stuff but seems expensive for what it is.

Also let it be known I'm going to be very pissed if they kill off Kallen and I think this is exactly the type of show that will kill off main characters down the stretch.

The cast in general is very likable but I think my preliminary top few characters are Kallen, C.C, Lelouch and Suzaku probably in that order.

At my job we got new cleaning people and one of the guys is friendly and we got on the discussion of anime, and he somehow knows and watches Rising of the Shield Hero, One Punch Man, and Goblin Slayer......but had not heard of My Hero Academia. Like not even that he hasn't watched it, he literally had not heard of it until I asked him

In fairness I had never heard of My Hero Academia until a friend recommended it to me. Granted that was like a year ago and I've seen far more shit for it since then.

Goblin Slayer and One Punch Man is something I saw stuff for on Facebook all the time. Goblin Slayer especially I saw a shit ton of stuff for when it first came out

One Punch Man I understand, but I did not think Rising of the Shield Hero and Goblin Slayer got more talk and advertisement than MHA

Or maybe that's not the right way to put it, but that someone who is in the know about those two and keeps up to date on them would never come across an MHA thing

Goblin Slayer got a lot of publicity from the first episode, same for Shield Hero. Don't think MHA had any single thing on that scale, it's just been consistently popular with no big reason to show up outside of places where it's already well thought of or known (or Reddit/MAL/Crunchyroll). At least that's my theory.

No I actually haven't watched past a few. Episodes of season 3 because I know I'm not interested. It sounds like they turned some pretty mediocre content from the manga into solid content for the anime, but I haven't seen it.

I figured the season would be moving at a faster pace than it seems to be, which is why I had zero faith in season 3 at all, but it looks like they intentionally slowed things down to avoid reaching the part of the manga where goes full fucking shit show.

Now that I think about it, I guess they realised it wasn't going to be worth forcing themselves TO adapt...THAT part of thr manga when the sales totally crashed because of the 4 year delay.

Even if the anime isnt selling as amazingly as the first season or so because of the time delay the series is still a huge hit. I mean theyre bigger, but this would almost be like if Toei gave up the next DB series

There's enough content based on stopping points in the story for 5 or 6 cours so far, they'd be fine with a HeroAca style release.

I've grown to feel the opposite about comic books over time from you, where a great creative team behind a book gets the punt after a few volumes and 70% of the time are replaced by garbage, and barely anything feels like it matter in the universe because who knows if it will stick with so many cooks in the kitchen. I much prefer the unified vision. Of course, sole comics do pull that off, but even with legendary runs like John's Green Lantern...they basically don't matter anymore I'm the current conversation of the combined universe.

I like the ability to just not have to deal with situations like Berserk and whatever manga the Slam Dunk guy makes where they spend 20 years doing nothing

if you don't like a certain artist or writer, you can just skip their run and pick up when they leave, you can't do that with manga
