I've really liked the last few episodes of We Never Learn. It's nothing groundbreaking, but I'm having a lot of fun with this series.

I had heard that the recap movies changed a few things so I ended up watching them before going to see Resurrection. I sort of wonder what people who didn't know about the changes thought when Shirley was treated as being alive in Resurrection.

Another interesting change is they got rid of the cart driver in the recap movies. At the end of the last recap movie, C.C. is just traveling alone. Back in the day a popular theory was that the cart driver was really Lelouch who survived Zero Requiem somehow. The cart driver being Lelouch wouldn't work with how Lelouch is at the start of Resurrection so if they left it in it would have actually confirmed that Lelouch was not the cart driver.

I think even more than strictly the animation, I don't like OPM2's way of cutting. I feel like the momentum of the scenes are getting shafted with how freakin' jumpy this thing is.

Yeah, that's what I've been saying!

Episode 4 may have had shit animation, too, but from episode 1 the biggest problem has been how awful the directing is. If this had the same budget and animation as season 1, but with this director, it would still be bad.

It's very well received in general, though I think I still love it more than most. I own all of the currently released in English LNs, though I'm holding off on reading them for now because of season 2. There are 3 EX LN volumes out focusing on Ferris and Wilhelm, and I'm gonna try and read those soon since that's mostly stuff not in the anime.

The voice acting was sublime through and through, but I want to mention in specific how good BETELGEUSE ROMANEE-CONTI (desu!) was, and Subaru's VA was incredible but the specific instance of him MIMICKING Betelgeuse's VA was seriously incredible stuff.

MY BRAIN IS TREMBLING.

There's a scene in a later episode that's asuper distant shot of Beetlegeuse just standing there with nothing else happening on screen for like 10 seconds like a horror movie, and for some reason I can never forget it.

I remember seeing Beetlegeuse in the OP for the first time a few episodes before he showed up, and thinking "this guy looks like some lame villain who's gonna ruin this thing.

Booooooy howdy was I wrong about that.

Can I just say it's been so long since I've heard Steve Blum and Troy Baker in anime it's so nice to hear them in Baki.

Also second half of Baki is p good so far. But it's not on the same level as the first half so far. I don't like how easy the next two Prisoners went down. Like, Speck and Dorian in the first half were goddamn beasts who just kept going and going. The first big fight being so goddamn good with how they keep going back and forth. The Russian went down like it was nothing and the red haired one just went down without anything great happening either. Like come on, you gotta match the hype of the other ones.

Here's hoping that improves as I go on.

Also Oliver is the fucking best and I will fight anyone who disagrees.

I'm FINALLY catching up and continuing Vinland Saga after years and years of sitting on it. Can't believe it's taken this long to get an adaptation, it's rare you see such an obvious surefire hit as this. This is gonna really be huge....well, maybe not, since it's an Amazon exclusive, but probably as big as an Amazon series can get.

They stopped doing the Anime Strike thing, now their exclusive anime is just in with the rest of the Prime exclusives. There's always a few big shows that are Amazon exclusive every season, like Banana Fish, Lustrous, and Dororo.

I was away for a few weeks and even now my free time is almost non-existent, but I miss anime. I caught up on Cinderella Nine the other day. It's fine (I mean, it's hard to screw up cute girl sports unless you go the HaneBADo route) but it's definitely not good enough to be the only thing I'm watching.

Are there any other fun shows this season? I glanced at Crunchyroll and the only ones that looked like light-hearted fun seemed like they were shorts.

Naw, not even close IMO, at least we can watch them. And time has proven that up to date weekly releases are always going to make a bigger splash in the community for seasonal shows over the Netflix model which has actively been killing series left and right, even on a less focused service. Still, there's a definite difference in how much attention they get compared to the likes of Crunchy and FUNi. The only reason they've managed to get by without total obscurity is because there's way, WAY more great Amazon licensed anime than Netflix licensed anime over the last few years.Other than few misses they've picked some big winners, and the shows have been pushing through by shear acclaim.

from my experience, no light novels (besides monogatari) have good prose but I think that's the point. very "light" reading. I haven't read re:zero though.

that or the translations are just bad, I dunno.

Senryu Girl is a short, but it's about 12 minutes. So still longer than those 3 minute shorts.

And I didn't know that TRE even came to these topics.

I don't remember what your thoughts are on these, but We Never Learn is pretty fun as far as standard harem comedies go. Not going to blow your mind or anything if you aren't a fan of the genre though.

I also think Senryu Girl seems like something you would like, though I would say it's only okay myself.

You're right. My expectations were just "bearable to read through" and they are met. I love the characters so much that getting a more close up look at them is gonna be fun.

What a disaster...yet I can't stop watching! It's officially in trainwreck status where I can't look away. And now it's on a week to week schedule where they're rushing to get it out...how bad can it get?

The problem with OPM is that this segment of the manga is a super drawn-out filler-y segment tbh

Forgetting backgrounds is bad enough, they cut out parts of the fight because they knew they couldn't finish them in time, lol.

We're a few episodes away from THAT episode of Mekaku City Actors happening again.

Seven Deadly Sins manga heading to climax

This Hero Is Invincible but Too Cautious getting an anime in October.

The story begins when the goddess Rista summons a hero to help her hard mode video game-like world. The hero, Seiya, is exceptional in every way, but he is incredibly cautious. He does things like buy three sets of armor (one to wear, a spare, and a spare for the spare) and go full power against weak slimes (just in case).

Ahiru no Sora basketball anime coming in October. Its about a 410 teen who joins the school basketball club. Hes played by Yuuki Kaji and the OP is being done by the pillows.

Devilman Crybabys Masaaki Yuasa directing Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken anime about 3 high school girls who want to make anime.

Attack on Titan continues to be excellent. So much tension.
