Man, Hubert is such a great character. I might be alone in thinking this. His dialogue is the best.

Hubert rules. The vast majority of his supports are great.

I can't wait until there's a good list of paralogues and their rewards somewhere, it will make planning who to recruit on each route so much easier if I knew which ones got me cool shit like Lorenz does

I've actually found myself running out of food ingredients. Is there a good way to get more, or do you just have to pray they show up at the greenhouse?

I was worried about running out too, so I made sure to dedicate about a third of my garden time in Part 1 to fruits and vegetables. It's come to my attention that I seem to explore more than other people so I probably have a healthier stock than average. But now that I'm in Part 2 and I don't need tons of flowers to help recruit other students, I imagine I'll just put all my gardening time into produce (though at this point keeping up motivation also seems less necessary so lol).

Also I've done A LOT of fishing so at least I should never run out of those.

So far before I've even fought the Lord Lonato, I've got Sylvain, Felix, Dorthea, Petra, Mercedes, and Ferdinand.

BE Chapter 17

I sent Felix and Ingrid after Sylvain. Dimitri had extra dialogue when you fight him with Felix, but just had the generic BL line against Ingrid.

Should I worry about letting characters master beginner classes, or should I take them to intermediate classes when they get to level 10. And on that note, are there benefits to letting characters go through multiple beginner classes?

I didn't bother mastering the beginner classes. Not enough battles early on. I'm hoping I can later.

I'm far from a min-maxer but the beginner masteries don't seem worth it compared to the better growths of the intermediate jobs, especially when you also get a bigger window to master the flat out superior intermediate skills by upgrading at 10.

The abilities/arts for mastering the beginner classes generally aren't worth the time it takes to get them. Though I dunno, maybe stuff like Reposition or Shove will be more useful when the harder difficulties come out.

Some of the intermediates are good though, like Mage or Brigand.

It's the worst route, to be honest. It's the shortest, it leaves some very obvious hanging threads, and making Rhea go from zero to sixty with her evil turn was pretty laughable. Especially since all she wanted was to see her mother (you) again.

Rhea going from 0 to Crazy is plenty believable. The first half of the game is constantly implying that she's messed up, and later revelations about what she's done throughout the years reinforce that.

Definitely a late addition.

It's like they went "Ah hell, people will get mad if we don't let them keep Edelgard, better come up with something. We'll throw in some cute moments to pad it out.

That said, Edelgard and Hubert have some pretty good A supports with the rest of the cast, so it wasn't a complete rush job

The problem is that Edelgard literally decides it's time to attack the Church less than a month after your merger with Sothis, giving Byleth zero opportunity to know more about her heritage or what exactly she is. Then she decides she needs to desecrate the holy place, attack her former professor and fellow students, and shows up with a psychopath that makes Hubert look down-right friendly. Not to mention she had been teaming up with Those Who Slither In the Dark before hand. And most of the suspect shit that the Church is actually guilty of goes unrevealed in the BE route. So like all we have about Rhea being a bad guy in the BE route is that Edelgard opposed her and she's a zealot. Like so much shit (good and bad) about Rhea gets hidden in that route that it's such an incomplete story. All we get is "Rhea is mad that her mother's new host defied her."

Don't get me wrong, moral ambiguity is fine but the BE route just has too many holes in it and is way too short. I understand that the idea is to get the full story via more playthroughs but since I was already spoiled on a lot of stuff, it seems like every route reveals significantly more than this one.

Every scene with Rhea in it felt like watching a ticking time bomb to me, so I wasn't remotely surprised when she lost her marbles right away in the BE route, and saw that scene before doing any other route. They laid plenty of groundwork for that moment.

You're not wrong that the route is too short, though. Is also missing out on expanded/unique cutscenes for a lot of major moments. Definitely didn't have as much budget put into it.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses was the second best-selling video game of July 2019, said Piscatella. Fire Emblem: Three Houses represents the largest launch of a Fire Emblem game in U.S. history, with launch month sales tripling those of the previous best-seller in release month, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. Fire Emblem: Three Houses instantly becomes the second best-selling game in franchise lifetime sales, trailing only Fire Emblem: Awakening.

Three Houses is another huge step forward for the franchise, and these numbers do not include any digital sales.

Yeah NPD has Fates split. Combined it opened higher than Echoes, but 3H is still the biggest opening. And then also combined the lifetimes sales are naturally higher than 3H's current sales (I think it's ahead of Awakening too).

So now that people are approaching multiple playthroughs what do they think of the monastery? I think it's cool but it's just way too big and there's too much busywork involved. I think Fates' hub was closer to ideal, and I'd like to see something between the two.
