Lysithea wants to get to Dark Knight if she can because it's the only source of Dark Tomefaire (besides S+ Reason, which takes an eternity even for her). Dancer Lysithea is like the biggest waste ever. She's arguably the best player phase combat unit in the entire game *and* has Warp. She's like one of the units you want to dance for the most.

I made my Petra a dancer, gave her Sword Avoid, Evasion Ring, and Alert Step, and she turned into a dodge tank. Could walk into any group of enemies and never get hit. Was super clutch in certain scenarios.

I made a recruited Lysithea my Dancer in my BE run, with no regrets, since I wasn't exactly hurting for mages. I like having a 'support' unit that can also one round enemies if need be. It'd probably be different for her native house though.

Started Blue Lions. Fun so far, but I have issues with Mercedes' and Ingrid's voice acting. Mercedes has a questionable voice with good delivery while Ingrid has a good voice with questionable delivery. Pretty much all the rest of the VA in the game is great so it really stands out.

I already like Dimitri more than I ever liked Edelgard though.

I had recruited Ashe, Sylvain (freebie from being Female Byleth), and Felix in my Black Eagle routes so 1/3 the class is already familiar to me. The others are pretty cool so far.

lmao totally, early in having a whole bunch of supports to go through, with Felix the whole time it's like sweet damn jesus that's brutal

... and then Annette comes singing along

it's even more hilarious how she calls him the worst for the lighthearted teasing, in contrast to how much much worse he's been to other people in their supports

i don't really feel like im using strategy for my first few battles so much as I'm throwing Dimitri (my strongest unit) at enemies to win lol

I started BL last night and yeah, Dimitri wrecked face in that first mock battle. I quickly made sure to support up Lys and Lorenz so I could get my nuke back, but I'm having second thoughts. If I'm not using her every battle and training her up, she won't be nearly as good as she was in my GD run. I want to actually use the characters in the house... hmmm.

The only support that made Linhardt likable to me was with Marianne. It almost makes me dislike him more though for knowing he's actually capable of being so much nicer and more empathetic than usual and he just...doesn't bother most of the time.

Most of Linhardt's good supports are at A-rank when he's less of a jackass.

Linhardt/Catherine support chain made me like him more.

In general though, Linhardt is a good character for others to bounce off while not being very likable on his own. His 'first kill' reaction and his B Support with Byleth, however, are two of my most memorable moments of my first playthrough. He genuinely seems more horrified by violence and bloodshed than almost anyone else in the cast.

I refuse to skip over Catherine in the sword desert that is Golden Deer, but I also refuse to just keep her a Swordmaster, and Ignatz is already going assassin...

I'm taking the effort to go Falcon Knight. Also gonna use Seteth so triple flier run let's goooooo.

On the GD playthrough I just did, the only person who ever bothered with a sword was Ignatz occasionally, and only until he got to Bow Knight and ditched it forever. My final team had four flyers, three bow knights and a dark knight. And my only real regret with party planning is that I would have preferred an extra wyvern and dark knight...

I refuse to use two of the same unit under any circumstances, with the only potential exception being double Gremory.

Starting to think about who I wanna use for the final 4th playthrough church route. Kind of thinking going for a run using every extra character? No Gilbert obviously, but that would be Byleth, Seteth, Flayn, Cyril, Hanneman, Manuela, Alois, Shamir, and Catherine, and then I would need to pick 3 to round it out to an even 12 for the largest maps...problem is Iot of these can't join in that route until post skip.

In one route you lose access to Edelgard and Hubert, in the other you lose access to Flayn, Seteth, Cyril, and Catherine.

Thanks! Geez, I don't know which one I want to do first. I much prefer the first set to the second set, but I also haven't really spent much time/effort on Edelgard because my initial plan was to go the other route, so I might be better off saving it.

If it help, I feel like even as a serious Edelgard #1 stan myself, that route feel like an extra bonus route to go through last, as it's shorter, lacking in a lot of context, and was clearly an afterthought in production values. I regret doing it first.

Eh, that's only true if you're definitely doing all four routes. Church is probably the one not to do if you're not going down that path.

There was a poll on the Three Houses message board asking what route people thought had the best story. Out of 200+ votes, Church route had 1. Literally 1.

Well, since the Church route is a watered down Golden Deer route, I can see why not many people have much of a favorable opinion of it.

Unfortunately the Black Eagles just don't have an optimal way regardless. You either get watered down or afterthought bonus route. They did my girl dirty.

At least with Edlegard route you get those FANTASTIC time jump Hubert supports.
