I got 5/4/8 for Braska today, used up all 30+ my markers on that dungeon and still didn't get a 5% armor, ugh!

I should try the Dragonking again tomorrow with Braska's hero gear and AOSB, hopefully I can finally beat him.

After doing all of them manually once I still have zero optimal passives (and only got like 30 pieces of HE overall)

I also tried using one marker on the D500 and it only gave me 4 crystals so I dont think Im gonna be doing that again

Also is it just me or do the same character artifacts as the Nexus boss rewards seem annoyingly common? Vaan, Golbez, Edea and now Sephiroth keeps getting found in chests and drops when I already got the 5/5/8 from beating the nexus.

Yep! Got some 7%s. Not sure off the top of my head whether or not I even got any 4%s for elemental bonus, though; I was getting a bunch of the DRB/brief stat increase ones.

Im also getting fairly close to the inventory cap on HE since Ive tried to avoid combining pieces suboptimally (so I have like a bunch of spears for example because I dont care about Cid VII or Freya but ideally would like to get the bonus xp for using those to level up other spears). Guess Ill have to stop doing that soon!

I got my magic Snow Giant clear. Had him down to 2% when Terra and Vincent both got confused. Papalymo got one attack to bring him to 0.6%, then we got Labyrinth Maze Gated, but Odin saved the day and dealt the last hit to finish him off.

Oh lame looks like earth was only up again for 2.5 days this rotation since they switch on Sunday/Wednesday; I didn't do the high level labs at all the first time earth was up, so I was hoping to get some better passives for Red XIII and Rinoa in particular (I did get a perfect weapon+accessory for Emperor and a perfect accessory for Tellah though).

How's the health of this game in 2021? Just curious. It's the longest-lasting FF gacha, right? So many gacha games shut down within a couple of years.

It's still going, and the gameplay/mechanics are good. It has been around for a long time so I won't be surprised if it gets shut down but no way to know for sure.

Physical version of the Snow Giant fight is harder for me than magic, as usual. Delita's damage is great but Noctis isn't getting close to cap most of the time. And Balthier's not contributing much damage early since I was trying to save his awakening for the end of the fight (plus he doesn't have enough SB since his glint is just 250 instead of 500). His imperiling is good though, I got up to max imperil before switching to his 7 hit HA for a while. I think I need to try a different character instead of Noctis, so probably Edge... although Locke has some advantages too, and I also have two awakenings for Barret.

I recall that a couple of weeks before Labyrinth Season 2 rolled around, I decided that since I had 100+ Magic Keys, I might as well start opening extra chests in Treasure Paintings until I got down to 50ish. Well, that was a mistake, S2 has devoured what remained of my key stash. I'm generally using a few Record Markers on late S1 dungeons daily in order to acquire enough keys for a S2 manual run. There has never yet been a scenario where I find a Treasure Painting and have to leave without getting the artifact, but there certainly are times now when I choose Red Combat over Exploration, just 'cause Red Combat will never cost a key!

In S1 I often didnt open 2 key chests even if they were HE, but in S2 if you dont you could end up with like 0 or 1 HE dungeons so it feels really bad not to

I got Snow Giant to 10.4% with my physical team but it was a 1 minute long fight. The confuse keeps getting me, might have been able to win if I'd summoned Locke's guardian in time but I wasn't looking at the AI thread when I did it. I'm not sure if I have the motivation to try again for a while.

I've been getting lots of Magic Pots from Exploration paintings; certainly more than from Combat paintings. So while the odds of a treasure vault on a sealed door probably lose out on the odds of a HE drop from a combat painting, I feel that Magic Pots swing it in favor of Exploration Paintings.

After 5/5/7 clears of the 400/450/500 dungeons (I think one of the 500 clears was a quick explore):

Vincent - 65/80 3/0/7
Cyan - 99/80 4/3/7
Sazh - 65/99 0/4/7

Master - 0/99 0/0/8

Four perfect passives, three of which are accessories. The second set is especially weird with zero +elemental HE for anyone (or Master weapons).

Whew, magic weak Ice Giant finally defeated. I expected this to be easy with stacked Terra (Sync, AASB, LBO, AOSB) and Papa (Sync, AASB, AOSB), but I struggled a lot.

Used my ticket on IV and got a Rydia USB dupe and Yang AASB. That one's new, but not exactly what I was hoping for.

Nice job! Terra and Papa are also my mag fire dps (though I only have the syncs and Terras AOSB so Im not gonna be taking down Ice Giant anytime soon)

I was gonna try to break into phys wodin by lensing Promptos chain, though that was still looking a little iffy at 3.5 BDLs and not much else. Thinking about it more Im wondering if my best in would actually be wind after next weeks fat chocobo which will finally give me Zacks chain (I have nothing relevant for Faris/Luneth so lensing those is not super appealing):

Wedge (HE): SASB, AASB, LBO
Vaan (HE): AASB2, bUSB (level 3 counters aegis)
Zack: (CSB), AASB1

I also have Zidane (SASB, AOSB, better LBO than Wedge), but as bad as it feels to bench someone with an ATB sync Im pretty sure Wedge is preferable with two BDL and HE. Also not sure for physical whether to use Tyro+Elarra or Mog + OtV with Elarra.

Anyone get any achievements using new stuff from the lens shop? I was really excited for the update but so far I haven't really accomplished anything with it. I grabbed Quina's G+ and USB2 but only tried them on Snow Giant and there I think I need Orran's healing. I thought the crits might help Locke's damage which is not that great early on without crits. I might grab Noctis's weird fire infuse G+ and try him again since his biggest problem before was his awakening didn't have any infusion.

Haven't bought anything new yet. I'll grab Iris USB2 and attempt FFXV Bahamut during the weekend, should be doable.

Most of the stuff that can maybe help me with Lab fights will require lvl 4 lenses, so I'll still have to be patient.

By the time we get enough level 4 lens Golden Week should start and we'll be getting grab bag tickets, then I'd have the worry of duping what I just got with those lenses.

Better hold off till the tickets are all used up IMO.

I haven't bought anything yet. I might lens Kiros's USB once I fix my dark phys team. I only have his AASB at the moment though, so his place on the team isn't ultra-secure. Otherwise I think I'm probably waiting to spend my level 4 lenses on Gogo's AASB for a comfortable mag water wodin clear (though apparently I was misremembering about Arc's HE being in water lab... gotta wait for holy lab for that).

Speaking of which, I guess his HE will probably boost his MAG/MND equally? That should be fine for water since buffs will push his MAG to the top, but it seems like it could be pretty annoying for holy if you have any dedicated MND buffs for your other dps (since the SMN multiplier on his HA is quite a bit higher than the WHT multiplier)

Labyrinth group N is Refia, Gilgamesh, Terra, Zell, Auron, Balthier, Papalymo, Delita, and Jack. Some of those would be nice to have in our current labyrinth. And Tactics finally gets its very first hero equipment after 14 groups!

As expected, this wasn't too bad after getting Iris USB2. It still took a few attempts, but, to be fair, my last Bahamut kill was a few weeks ago, so I'm out of practice.

Noctis - Sync1, AASB, AOSB, LBO
Gladio - Sync, AASB (AOSB unused)

So I'm assuming there will be another dream select pretty soon. Is Mog's worth getting if I already have complete Orran and almost complete Cait Sith (just no sync) and Quina? On paper I don't see that much benefit compared to those but everyone raves about it so I assume I must be missing something.

Which awakening? Both are really good regardless. He's also better for mixed parties than Cait Sith and his mag/attack/mind buff USB is something Cait doesn't have.

Mog AASB1 is not worth getting if you have Cait AASB1. Mog AASB2, however, is a full break counter that works in any realm (unlike Tyro OSB, etc) and that can be honed (unlike Olan Sync.) If you have Dreambreaker Full Break troubles, consider whether Mog AASB2 would help you against them.

Mog Awakening 1 is still worth getting even if you honed the awakening 2, bosses have so much HP now I do run out of time of both casts, and the damage boost saved my butt against dragonking's mega flare. Though it's not as useful if you plan to use Mog in physical teams.

Also oh nuts a Bio Labyrinth was announced in Japan! Wasn't expecting one so soon, at least before more realm labyrinths were done.

That's the thing, I don't really feel like I have full break troubles. Orran is fine at countering them for physical teams and Cait boosts damage so much my magic teams don't really need to counter it. Being good for mixed teams would be a nice benefit though, I've never been able to succeed against Bahamut with a mixed team.

And geez, FF6 Bahamut is beefy. After a few tries of refining my strategy, I went all the way to phase 3 dead end and he still had 11.6% of his HP left. That's with 6 cap breaks, 2 AOSBs and Locke's Guardian Summon, all of which I used. In the end maybe Mog 2 will be worth it for the 11% bonus in this Dragonking fight.

Yeah FF6 Bahamut is way too bulky. I know FF6 is a stacked realm but 6 million HP is way too much to deal with Mega Flare time limits. Well unless you got Kefka sync and ATB boost.

That's also another benefit of Mog Awakening 2 is the weakness boost, since the mages in that realm cover multiple elements. Terra has wind/fire, Strago has water/wind, Kefka has dark/bio and Gogo has fire/ice/wind/earth. You can make a decent wind team with Terra/Strago/Gogo with a huge weakness boost bonus.

Right now my physical is better than my magic for FF6. I can make a physical team with 6 cap breaks, but 4 is the most I can manage for a magic team. Although I do think magic is stronger overall right now and Locke/Edgar have crappy abilities right now.

Bio Labyrinth is great news in my opinion! Only like 8 months between bio bosses is basically like a regular element. I hope they go all the way and give us a magic and physical version of the fight, even though that would require a lot of investment for me to make two teams. They would probably need to add at least one more bio mage. Physical has Thief, Leila, Edgar, Marcus, Thancred, Cid Garlond, and kinda Tyro and Quina (but not really). Magic just has Quistis, Kefka, and Dr Mog. Maybe Vivi could regain it, he had a bio unique SB way back when. Or they could add Shadowsmith as a playable character and give it to him.

Also I hope Edgar gets a second HA that does decent damage like Locke and some others have gotten. 6x1.1 bio would be neat.

I got 5/5/8 for Master Monk over the last two days! I got his HA and tried for a better time on the FF1 dreambreaker, and I got the sub30!



Master Monk is legit! He was breaking level 3 rage before Orran could use his sync in phase 3 Dude must have done like over half the damage by himself with his Minwu like awakening. I'm pretty tempted to hone his awakening since it's really good and covers 3 elements. Wish his sync didn't just come out since I'd dream select it in a heartbeat for FF1 Dragonking.

That just leaves Sin and Shadowsmith to sub30 all Dreambreakers!

And yeah, Master Monk is cool. Wish I could have gotten his sync with my 100 gems. He'd make a good partner for Delita too since they can both crit fix and save Orran from having to use that crappy bard song.

I see some people honing Master Monk's awakening for Bahamut and some nexus bosses, on paper it makes sense since it covers 3 elements and it's a niche realm, but I still feel kinda iffy about that since I could get his sync later by dream select (or good luck through a grab bag) And I already have characters with 2 cap breaks in physical earth, fire and lighting. Though he's probably better than Ardyn, Jack and Edge for physical fire.

With Mog 2, Edge and Orran already honed it's certainly a decent choice. I'm not sure what to use the honing scrolls for now besides maybe Cait Sith but I probably don't need to with his sync.

Very minor achievement: got my first 5* magicite sub-10 (on Hecatoncheir with Wedge/Vaan/Zidane) without any dps carrying DMT/MM...!

Also sub-18d Dark Odin with the same team.

Ugh, just realized I was incorrect about Vaan bUSB being an aegis counter (it actually lowers DEF/MAG/MND) so I think my wind weak WOdin plan is probably dead :(

Faris BUSB has an Aegis counter on it, or you can just try to power through it. Your dps takes a hit during those 24 seconds, but if your wind team is good enough, you can still pull it off.

I just ignored the Aegis buff on all physical Odins. Physical wind sucks for having 2 of them, but even that can be overcome.

Yeah I've ignored it for the two WOdins I beat, but I'm not sure I have enough to push through a second one. I guess it's at 35% so hopefully some of it will overlap with his interrupt? Falling back on Faris is an option, but that would probably require lensing her CSB (and I have no BDL for her).

I've tried magic-weak Abductor a few times today but I can only get him into single digit %s before I run out of time. I think 5.8% remaining was my best, that last phase just doesn't give you much time to deal a lot of damage. Serah's damage is weaker than I'd like, part of the problem is not having beaten XIII Bahamut yet so I haven't unlocked her bonus record board squares... although I don't think that alone accounts for why her damage is so low.

Vivi on the other hand is a total powerhouse, hits harder than any of the primary ice mages I have (Serah, Rinoa, and Edea). I'm stacking both of his +25% damage LMs which I assume is a big part of the reason. Although his HA is fewer hits so that's also part of the reason he caps so easily.
