Getting Nahida and Wanderer have both proven to me that you don't actually need new characters if you have a handful of highly gear invested teams . There's literally nothing I can do with them that can even come close to what I can do with Xiangling, Bennett and Childe

In my case Wanderdouche wins just for not having that cringe-inducing pogo stick gameplay, I really can't take it and his damage doesn't make it worth it to me.

Then again, I skipped Wanderer coz I'm super satisfied after finally getting my first Qiqi and will now wait for Yaoyao or a very good banner with Collei / Faruzan.

Not a huge fan of Windtrace anymore, but it's fine compared to plenty of the other seasonal content. Looking at you, tower defense game that will not be named.

It's actually kind of funny that Genshin has the literal exact opposite problem of all other Gacha games - the game is just too easy and there's no reason to roll on characters after you have some team comps built. Whereas Gachas usually power creep.

Or is it just a small minority of hardcore players talking to each other about wanting harder "endgame" content while the actual player base mostly just wants casual fun that isn't challenging? I think it's likely that the devs get FAR more feedback complaining about the game being too hard than people asking for harder content.

Look at the Playstation achievements for this game. The number of people who have even cleared Spiral Abyss (just cleared, they don't even have an achievement for getting 36*) is really low. Like, less than 10% IIRC. And that's for Playstation players. Mobile players are a more numerous, and usually are more casual than console players on top of it.

So yeah... from the devs' perspective, they're probably getting lots of pushback every time they give us challenging combat, so I can understand why they may not feel motivated to give us high difficulty "end game" content.

The other thing they (occasionally) do is add a super hard mode to something, but that mode either has negligible rewards (like 4 weapon XP crystals) or no rewards at all.

Nothing will ever top that absolutely insane Triple Kenki boss event with the modifiers. I'm pretty sure it was literally impossible to beat unless you had a full team of C6 5-stars.

That reminds me, what ever happened to getting artifact XP as rewards? I feel like that'd be a good challenge reward that is useful (unlike crystals) but also farmable in the OW so casuals shouldn't complain about it.

I'd say the rewards we need more are talent and weapon upgrade materials (not exp).
Artifact fodder is a very insignificant garbage reward, just as useless as weapon exp.

I would love to be able to transform artifacts into the artifact exp items immediately from the domain rewards screen though. Or tag for alchemy transformation.

Upgrade materials are locked behind resin for the most part and would therefore cause complaints, so that wouldn't work.

I actually use the Artifact XP from the Teapot. You'll always have the need for leveling artifacts for new or existing characters due to the amount of RNG. If it weren't for me pulling multiple 5* weaps I'd have ~4k unused crystals (not including the thousands of unrefined ores).

I never pull 5* weapons and I give each character their very own fully upgraded weapon.
Sitting on over 9000 weapon exp mats lol. Huge nuisance coz it locks you from accepting rewards.

Pull for characters you like. Genshins nice in that any character can be good to great with investment. Find someone you vibe with, find out who pairs well with them, and proceed to dunk on stuff because big number good.
