JC's PoE is very similar to mine. I don't feel as good about Ben as he does (based almost purely on BCT) and I still think Sultan believing there was a cop scan on Sheep seemed legitimate which requires him to be town. Dumey also goes in would like to lynch less.

mafia is ultimately a game of risk and information gathering and given that we're effectively at a stalemate investigatively we need information or a lynch that potentially yields a greater reward, the game state makes you a good lynch candidate from the latter category

obviously that's a last resort thing. also scum here (not giving credit to chris but he would be a good backstop and could come up with this) would be easily able to claim something like that and skate by. you're ultimately someone that we can't really get more information on. I can't scan you - you're just this intangible.

Anyways I'm back a bit. Soo everyone talking down on my involvement with The Chris Lynch. I lynched Chris beacuse I thought he was scum. Chris was acting unusual. I tried to point it out and idk if it came across the way I wanted it to. Part of the reason I was so mad at Ulti for jumping shit was beacuse I though together we were gaining momentum on the lynch and I felt super betrayed by thar. Then Lea came in and brought it back up again and I was excited to see that this hunch was becoming a reality. Chris usually trys to pocket me at town calling me his cute Kahoi or something like that. He was bashing me alot town Chris trys to guide me and he was not.

He started to paint me as a mislynch candidate and I was holding strong.

Im learning a bit more about mafia and the various roles. Has b8 ever seen a godfather neighborizer who recruits someone to scum?

So one thing about looking at ctes from day 1. He spent majority of the day being really isoed into wanting to lynch Sheep beacuse of his claim, and not even really the claim itself but kept making conserpricy theories about Sheep wanting to claim in the first post when Sheep pointed out it was a gambit/joke. I think ctes went way to into this. I don't see any other reads from ctes. I mentioned it day 1 and I think I can see it again looking back day 1. Ctes really tried hard to make himself useful with out really doing anything

Anything, and I mean absolutely anything is possible. Its just a question of if you think its balanced in the setup. Recruitment mechanics are very rare though because its considered absurdly strong. There was a cult recruiter in Xenoblade mafia though a few games back

the easiest way to test BCT is by getting a train on him, and when he gets angry enough to reveal his alignment, even if he's Town, half of the players will be convinced they need to lynch him anyway, so it's kind of a mixed bag

Yeah but if say I was his scum buddy that's a pretty easy 'bct obviously he is joking play along' and I think half the game has that level of expertise to coach.

Bct hasn't done anything to bother me so I don't mind the read but it feels like one you were eager to make. I don't think you do that as scum if bct is town though as bct I think as town is good bait. Would be a pretty fancy theater trick though.

Ive got mixed feelings about being scanned. Id like to be around long enough in this game to meaningfully contribute to solving it, so not being mislynched would be nice. But once Im confirmed town, if not sooner, Im probably getting nkd. Once everyone gets past the whole dont kill the new person n1 to be nice rule, new folks seemingly make a popular target for scum (see: Cody last game). I would give a friendly suggestion to cop not to waste a precious scan on me Im town and every scan can be the key difference maker.

I remember reading this and thinking Wallz was a power role that was easily confirmable. In hindsight of him claiming vanilla, its kinda weird.

Question for ye - why do you feel it has to be recruitment and why is it not more likely they both started scum and this is a gambit? I'll be honest, I think having a scum recruiter, even though i said it was possible, is very unlikely. Usually only exists in games where there is a dedicated faction called CULT that can recruit people. Hosts have to give some big hint that recruitment is a mechanic in the game or it can be considered a bastard game.

Going to answer your questions in reverse order. I suspect recruitment because Lea started the lynch on Chris. Youll find out when you get past topic 1 lol.

Yeah I'm going especially slow because if this is the day Chris died I feel the juiciest stuff will have to be in here. Particularly in how people interacted with Chris

I couldve claimed flavor (Mr. Boothby) to claim in part. And I was trying to say I wouldve claimed to avoid wasting the scan on me (viewing me being scanned as inevitable) but because of how I approached the situation, no one wouldve trusted my claim by that point.
