Remember the afore-mentioned scum philosophy of "let town lynch themselves"? This kind of post where you whine about town not going the direction you want it to, while also not providing a healthy alternative, leads directly into that style of play.

I wouldn't say my post was a whine.

Red hammering a no lynch and not dying does nothing for anyone except maybe red.

No, you misinterpreted me talking about worst case scenarios as me making some probability argument that I never put forward. Then you said you weren't willing to engage with the reason why I actually think your role is false, because you didn't want to engage in a meta argument. I offered to completely drop the idea of talking about this being a "back-up" game, and just analyze the role under normal setup meta. 15 person game. Town role that more often ends up as -2 town than not. It's an incredibly anti-town role that I don't believe.

If red is town then he's just an ill-fated vanilla and lynching a vanilla on day 1 is better than lynching power but still not ad good as lynching scum.

I too would like to see more content from Lea but its less than 24 hours in and iirc she did say she moved and nearly didnt participate in this game as a result, so I bet we will get more soon

You asked me who I would go for and I told you I mostly have neutral reads. So I would need to push in a direction to develop a scum read on them. SBell is naturally scummy due to his claim, I also didn't like his recent post about not liking the direction of conversation while not providing an alternative.

Lea being lazy and not super active isn't alignment indicative, I just appreciate her input and would like to hear more from her, so if I were to put pressure somewhere new, choosing an inactive player who I value the input of seems to be a good direction to go. I feel like a lot people would say similar things of Corrik, but Corrik is here and posting recently, so no need to "pressure."

I had a couple good ideas for this other than just the role but day is way too off course for me to think they are useful now.

I wanted to see how people would play around the hammer, but mostly useless now unless someone blatantly steals the hammer.

Just for the sake of a full story, whats your flavor red?

I said I could conceive of some ideas where you would fake claim as town. But I think the "I die if you don't let me hammer" thing is a dumb ploy regardless. It is inherently imbalanced and I'm not surprised to see you take it back. I don't think you even needed to say you were a cop, so I'm a little wary of that. You could have just taken back the dying part and I probably would have been okay backing off.

I still think we don't let you hammer out of principle, but I'll accept this walkback as it's not just a bad option to lynch elsewhere now.

I'm not sure I understand the question. If Red is telling the truth NOW, then town and scum both wouldn't have known it was a gambit, so skepticism could have appeared from both sides? I think people blindly accepting the claim and not pushing to resolve it are still the people that look the worst. If the role was real and town actually accepted it, I would want people like Lopen who actually looked to push it and not leave it to the end of day.

I'm going to reiterate i have arguments against it but i wish we wouldn't bring pregame discussions into the game. I'd have hit territory where I'd have had to start mentioning several specific posts in the sign up topic. Really should just keep anything specific to the guts of the sign up topic to yourself.

I'm not sure I follow red's train of thought, but that's fine, I still think town.

There's really no reason to go over it again, but I said I was willing to completely drop all of that meta about the circumstances of the game.

I still thought just on it's own merits the role as described was bad in a 15 person game. That is no different than normal setup meta in any other game on this board. Every single game we talk about town to scum ratios, and whether or not roles make sense when you take into account how behind or ahead it would put town or scum. That was entirely independent of the sign up topic or anything that happened prior to the game.

Ctes, are you still catching up? I was hoping you'd give a little more thoughts but was waiting to see if you commented on more or not.

Still not sure on the Red claim. But I still think Peaf is scum and am also not getting a good feeling about Sultan here. Don't know why.

Don't like how people are saying that there's no chance of a certain scum/scum pairing before there's even a full topic to go on. That's far too early and it feels like either MZero or Wallz is saying that knowingly. We don't know if this scum team planned anything ahead of time. Sometimes scum teams operate independently on D1 in order to confuse town; at least this is what someone (Death?) suggested the last time I was scum.

Ulti self-voting is a waste of time. We have a game to solve. Trying to give yourself up - and doing something that's prohibited at B8 - does not bode well. That said, I'm pretty sure this is town Ulti because of it.
