Another video begins, this time in a shed filled with artificial white light. Only one figure is present, the taller one, but slightly shorter than when he was last present. It appears one of the many sheep that makes up his body is away.

"Hey guys! Today I'm bringing you another zany episode of Console Mafia, so let's get right to it! Last time, you all decided to eliminate the Turbografx-16. Which, yeah, I would have done the same - excellent choice. What we didn't show you was that someone used this baby to soften it up, before we made it into delectable confectionary!"

Through the flowing sleeves of his robe stretches a comically long mallet. He twirls it round in a surprising feat of dexterity, before resting it upon a shoulder.

"Now, tonight we've got a very special request, to destroy a very special console. Bring him in, Kirby!"

The small figure appears, carrying a handheld console with two screens. A dent mark is already observable in its body.

"Now, what we didn't tell you is that this blighter personally destroyed the Turbografx, in his hunt for power. It was exceptionally violent, so we had to keep the incident off camera so we wouldn't get demonitised. It's only fitting he suffers the same fate."

The sheep-man brings down the hammer on the console for minutes, until only a fine metallic dust remains. A faint whisper persists through the banging.

"Subscribe to us on Patreon..."

Red has died! He was 3DS, TOWN Manual Hammerer Flavour Cop

Back when 3D was cool for a few months, Nintendo decided to cash in on the craze with their second instalment in the DS series pretty successfully, too. I wouldnt say it had the greatest library, but there were a helluva lot of RPGs, a bunch of exclusives, and a lovely aquamarine edition that I bought on launch back in the day (long before there was a single decent game available for it). These days, though, the original model is a little obsolete compared to the 2DS, which is superior by virtue of being more powerful and also not allowing the possibility of accidentally turning 3D on. Much like the 3DS, youll start off this game a little weak, but with the possibility of upgrading to something a lot nicer and more useful.

As a Flavour Cop, each night, you may pick a player to scan. You will be told that players flavour name the console that they are.

In addition, as a Manual Hammerer, you may upgrade your scanning ability permanently one time. To do this, you must perform the sealing vote during the day phase this must end the day prematurely, and cannot simply be the final vote on a lynch that occurs at the deadline. You will be made aware of the upgrade you receive upon performing this action.

You win when all threats to TOWN have been eliminated.

But wait! Red brought the hammer down - that means that...

Red was 2DS, TOWN Cop.

Isnt that much better? No 3D gimmick, an utterly hideous design, but its all worth it in the end. You may have lost something, but in the long run, something has probably been gained.

You may no longer access your powers as a Flavour Cop.

However, as a Cop, each night, you may pick a player to scan. You will be told the alignment of that players role.

I stand by the bct train. The omgus directed at me wasn't the problem i had with him, it was that he showed no evolution of thought whatsoever across the day. I tried to give him an opportunity to talk about things and he totally brushed me off. I did admittedly miss his post in t1 where he talked about a few other things, and that is the one thing I'll apologize for.

But we won't really know the narrative around it until Sultan and death both flip. I think death is the scum in that duo, but Marth and dumey are both definitely scum and should be lynched before death.

BCT did not do anything scummy D1 other than AFK. There was no rationale other than being an acceptable special to let Red hammer. The fact that you're coming in D1 trying to rationalize it looks bad. There's nothing wrong with just saying "it was a special that didn't turn out well." But you feel compelled to defend it?

I sure hope you have some rationale for me or Marth more than "people weren't paying attention to you" which you backed off when I pointed out that was wrong.

Certainly not everyone looks bad, but you don't think there was something a little crazy about the 4 votes that took BCT from -5 to -1 within like a single minute of each other? Or the idea that when we wanted a consolidated lynch for a hammer, it's better if it's something we agree on and not scum controlled, but a random lynch is very easy to scum control?

I agree that it's hard to point at any individual person on that lynch and make claims on them, but there's definitely something to analyze there.

From my nighttime notes:

T1.254 - skillful avoidance from dumey when asked a direct question by Marth. Just says he has a lot of neutral reads outside of red without really going on the record for anyone except for sbell. Keeping those options open! This happens again towards the end of topic 2, almost in the same way. Fun times.

T2.152 from Marth - 100% coming from a place of knowing too much. Kill it.

Dumey was pretty noncommital in t2.397, other than listing people he didn't want to vote for (red, sbell, sultan, ulti). He voted sbell, chris/lea, and red over the course of the day. Was generally pretty active with his posts. So I'm surprised to see him have so little at this point in time. When marth pressed him, he gave a more concrete "neutral town lean" on Marth. They're scum buddies. Book it.

Dumey simplifying my bct case to "he's just doing omgus that's all" is disingenuous to begin with, but also comes from dumey knowing already that bct is town.

Marth jumping on ulti's inconsistency at the end of t2.pg9 is absolutely within range for scum. T3.pg2, says chris looks good for defending death and sultan from being lynched. How the fuck does that track? Marth is assured trying to get on chris' good side if chris is town, or encourage other players to sheep chris if they're both scum.

This is silly. A LOT of players talk about how they town clear and work from process of elimination instead of finding scum outright. I think the reason we ended up in a special at the end is because there wasn't enough consensus on people who had hard scum reads, and people were mostly unsure of their scum tells! Being honest about having to work through a lot of neutral reads is not avoidance.

"He was non-commital, but also the voting records show he voted more than anyone not named Marth, Sultan, or Lopen." I also vocally said I was okay with the BCT special, which isn't really to my credit, but I didn't have a chance to vote before BCT was suddenly at -1.

I'm not defensive over you voting for Marth. I'm defensive over you having a hard-on for me with no real backing. I'm okay when people like Lopen or Death say they're wary of me for reasons I can understand. But when you come out with manufactured claims that don't map on to reality, like the aforementioned "No one is paying attention to Dumey" when a third of the game had clearly stated non-neutral opinions of me, it rings an alarm bell.

You're not coming after me from a genuine place, so how am I not going to want to defend myself from it?

I was hoping more people would check in during the first hour, because I'm about to go play some games with friends for a couple hours and may not be able to check in for a little.

Lopen stop lurking and post some thoughts. You've got to have more just that one post. Do you agree with Death that there's nothing to be gained from looking who was on BCT's lynch? Was there some scum control there in who got specialed?

My brief thought is we need to look at people who were eager to jump to BCT but still thought Sultan looked bad

Me being in that picture is unrelated. My case was that i did not see any progression of thought from page 1, topic 1 to the end of the day. Part of this is because i was a bad reader and totally missed one of his posts! You argued that I was only on him for reverse omgus.

My backing is in part due to your interactions with marth. If he flips town then I'll get off your back. Deal?

Death in particular stands out to me and I would actually prefer lynching him to you or Marth

Dumey's post (t1.069) sounds like setup meta from someone who knows how many scum there are and what kinds of extra kill possibilities they have. Additionally, he's admitting to steering the conversation away from what he feels isn't productive to something that i feel isn't going to be productive until we have a lot more info!

Dumey avoided the red thing entirely, as Marth pointed out shortly after. Interesting since that was by all measures the biggest thing up to that point. Scummates are some of the best people at recognizing when a buddy slips.

Eh. If neither of the other two gain any momentum at all in the next 24 hours then I will support lynching death. But i think marth and dumey are both far scummier than death have been.

Iirc red mentioned me as a group he didn't feel great about but i wasn't his #2?

My world view is that Marth voted Dumey early for distancing but was easily swayed by bad non-answers from dumey, and was buddy buddy with him ever since. Marth had a lot of people in his town pile and dumey was in his group every time.

Dumey is cfwr and that's why he's frustrated with me.

I have ctes as lean town for eod reasons but it's not a strong lean.

I originally had lopen as scum lean but he had some posts that i was really agreeing with. He misrepresented the fuck out of death towards day end but i think that's just him being wrong town at this point.
