I thought about this, but we would need some way to prove he went to his target. Otherwise he just lies and gets a free pass until we lynch one of the people (that is also scum) he "hid" behind.

I don't think he'd lie as town, as lying about this sort of thing can ruin the whole game, and Lopen doesn't seem the kind of guy that would do some kind of gambit like that. We also have MZero in case the reassurance was necessary, but I don't think it is.

If he's mafia, I think there's a point where it would get fishy. Also if he's mafia he's clearly a commuter or something and not like scum KP. So no harm leaving him alive?

I think Corrik7 is a decent choice for hide since we benefit greatly if he's town, but I kind of think he's scummy.

But I'm down to see what everyone else thinks.

I would only humor that type of plan if we had a STRONG alternative lynch with a high percentage of being scum.

I am not down to have a random lynch that lets Lopen live for potential testing of his role. That's an easy recipe for disaster.

Yeah I'm not seeing Hider falling under host action, strongman, redirection, or bus driving

and if Dumey's action resoves at start of night, it can't be roleblocked logistically. I would guess Dumey's action falls under host action? because it happpens before any night actions so it can't be redirected either

It can't be roleblocked though because the chat opens at the start of the night phase, before night actions are finalized one hour before start of day. There is no way for scum to get a roleblock off before the action resolves. I mean, unless scum has a way to block during the day.

Chris said earlier that he thinks my chat would be blocked during night, but open during the day.

I don't think I said how long the chat stays active for, but it is true that my chat is open through the day and up until the start of the next night where I would have chosen a new target.

Possible there is a scum blocker that can dayblock and nightblock. There are two day roles at least after all. We could have Sultan point his gun at me during day and Dumey try to neighbor me again during day and if one goes through we successfully navigated the trap

Day roleblocker just seems like way too much of a coincidence imo.

Okay as I said about an hour ago, I think the best thing to do is let everyone weigh in on everything that has happened, as we have a few no-shows or people that just checked in and dipped. All I know is that I'm glad the game has opened up quite a bit and we have lots to go off of now so I'm pretty excited. Night!

Plus his target being Ulti would be fair, except he said he thought Ulti was town?

Sidenote.. I see Hider as a commuting type of role at best, meaning it should be roleblockable. Though I cant tell how much of a talking point that is

As far as fakeclaims go, something like that isn't difficult for scum (given the current public info). Death did something similar in xenoblade.

And I said that because I 100 % expected Red to be protected. So him dying half surprised me and made me realize scum must have used an unblockable shot.

His targeting would probably bypass Lopen if he was hiding or even untargetable
If he has that power at all of course.

Lopen you should be able to ask the host whether or not your hide lasts for the entire night or for the rest of this day too.
The rules allow you to paraphrase host PMs that are about role mechanics

Dumey's action I see as resolving before night starts, like how normal roles resolve before day starts. Its just that night results can be sent in the last hour of the night while no day results can be sent out before day is over.

Then again Lopen already explained it in such a way that he should not be hiding during the day at all.
Least of all on day1 when he could not even pick a target yet.

And in general I feel like some players are defending Lopen too strongly
Though I will give Sir Chris that he said he would still look into Lopen despite the role mechanics he believes in.

Tho I dont think he should be surprised that he is alive considering scum could and would kill Red before him.

I also just don't like Lopen going for the "Dumey is trying to go 1 for 1 with me" and then resorting to bringing third party into it

The way his power is worded tho makes it sound like it is not as useful if he only gets scanresults and not also target choices. I'd like Mzero to clarify which is the case.
