Johnson was headed for a landslide defeat and had just been trounced in both local elections and two pivotal must-win by-elections in different parts of the country. Thats a large part of why the Tories got rid of him, he was massively hated and electorally toxic. Unfortunately for them and fortunately for everybody else, they had ran out of extra lives and couldnt just keep replacing leaders. Truss and then Sunak ransacking the country only made it worse for them. Really Johnson was handed the 2019 election on a plate by the situation but took his win to mean he was a genius beloved by all. He was completely toxic and theyre almost certainly doomed regardless which is why theyre going so crazy now. I still see construction pretty regularly, but it seems like they just want to finish the middle section and get it operational an then expand from there. Definitely taking a lot longer and costing a lot more than it should have. So instead if plum sees this Ill just say that with a population of 2.2 million in a tiny 15 mile stretch of land, Gaza is one of the most densely populated areas on Earth, and a majority of the population are children.
