And I'm curious of one thing... So surely the IDF doesn't actually think that southern Gaza doesn't have any Hamas who evacuated there, right? The IDF wants to exterminate ALL of Hamas. That has been their main claim. What happens when they kill everyone in the north and then need to attack the south to get rid of the Hamas members that will 100% have moved there? Tell the Palestinians to evacuate to the north? Okay, where will they stay then if the north would already be a wasteland?

I am very suspect of that claim. I hope Hamas releases the hostages, and I than I hope Israel doesn't go back on their word. Realistically though, Hamas will never surrender, and that is the most likely reason why they demand it.

If the hostages are released, than Israel should show some good will and do something on their end as a good faith gesture. All I see is them demanding everything and than saying, don't worry if you bend over, give us all your weapons, we won't hurt you. How can anyone trust Israel at their word?

This is a point that isn't being spoken about enough I think. The child deaths in Palestine went over 1,400 days ago. 2,055 children from Palestine are dead over 2 weeks and not a peep. A rumor went out that 40 Israeli children were killed by Hamas and that gripped the world for days. People still talk about it now.

Children in Israel were deliberately targeted for execution and tortured. Children in Gaza were unintentionally killed in a war. All deaths of civilians are terrible, but I have a hard time believing you're befuddled why one group received more attention.

Because the 40 israeli babies were supposedly beheaded by terrorists. That sounds way worse than crossfire in a highly urbanized 3rd world country. Plus, most people understand the situation to know that they can't think of a better solution. Hamas needs to be dealt with right now, but how? Not one person has been able to respond to this question effectively that would please most people.

Whatever the answer is, carpet bombing the entire population included children isn't the answer, that's for sure.

And this is another reason why lots of people are desensitized to civilian deaths in Gaza, because Hamas is more at fault for their deaths than Israel at this point.
