my son says theyll stop at playstation 8 and call it playstation infinity. it will be cloud based gaming only
I frequented that board.
They were right. There was literally maybe 10 people that still used it aside from a few trolls here and there.
Threads would stay open for months.
I'm going to miss 86's "Be honest" topics...
They just closed down the Religion board a couple of days ago, and part of Fandom's justification is that "it was barely active"
It probably won't.
I think it's the opposite. Misery loves company. They want everyone to have tied down lives full of responsibility directed at others. A lot of parents are absolutely miserable with their decisions but don't feel safe to say so. So they want everyone else to be as miserable as them.
I hate to use the word jealousy ever but from personal experience a lot of parents are jealous of people who have all the free time in the world and freed up finances to do fun things instead of sending Johnny to soccer camp or getting Annie's tonsils out.
I've met more unhappy families than happy ones, anecdotally.
Yeah, but the problem with that is...

That isn't a real board.
People really love doomsday rhetoric. This board will still be here for atleast another 10 years.
The idea of wanting children being normal is so strange me me, when i told the people i work with that i didnt want children and planned to get the snip the main question they asked me was 'what are you gonna do with your life then if you dont have children' of course these are middle aged woman with multiple children but assuming you can live life without children is silly.
You don't have to personally attack and gaslight me about your deleted board.
Presumably, it comes from the attitude that it's a woman's obligation to provide kids to a husband who wants them. Which is... not okay.
It makes sense when you think of who makes the rules for society historically
have their husbands sign permission slips
Blasphemy! Crypt of the necrodancer is the best rhythm based game in existence!
I could understand not everybody liking it though, also It's a pretty difficult game
I'm in the Spirit Temple right now. I have all the Heart Pieces, I only need the Heart Container from this dungeon to have the full 20 hearts (I doubt I'll bother doing that for any other Zelda game, but this one is pretty special to me, so it gets that extra level of treatment).
I'm really stupid, why does selling 5 million in day 1 make a game casual? Did they all watch a friend play and go buy it later that day?
What in the world was changed to make the Fallout TV show unrecognizable?
Its set in-universe, after the events of Fallout 4, and Todd Howard confirmed that it is 100% canon.
I never had a problem with him and never knew people disliked him
Words & stuff
Crypt is the only one that's the closest to being a roguelike and some would argue it isn't. I would.
Without any sort of comment to provide context or indicate that you were providing an example and not engaging in a bit of sneaky name-calling?
About to start Elsewhere by Dean Koontz, wondering how he does with sci-fi
I'll be interested to see if this turn in convo gets the topic removed or just their posts.
I've never had Red Lobster...
then again, I never had lots of things; Never been to a IHOP, Dennys, Applebees, Panda Express/Hut, Churches, Popeyes, whataburger, Swiss Chalet, Olive Garden
$20, for endless shrimp and they were still losing millions? Bro, how much shrimp did these guys eat? I can get whole bags of shrimp for like $10
it just isn't necessary to discuss politics online IMO. It's important stuff to pay attention to but your chances of actually changing people's minds are very low.
They don't really need to drive people off for that. If they wanted to shut the site down they could do it tomorrow and it wouldn't really matter in any meaningful way.
They could also easily just shut down every social board and only keep the game boards, or shut down all forum activity and just keep the FAQs (sort of like IMDB did years ago), or otherwise try to keep the site as a monetizable resource without having to deal with all the pesky annoying users.
Bet there's gonna be a lot of CE refugees coming in soon

Cable has actually started doing that.
Multiple cable companies have deals with different streaming services, and are integrating the streaming service into their own architecture. So you can theoretically be on your cable/tv and jump to Hulu or Peacock or whatever. And then combining that with package service deals (like TV/streaming/Internet/phone/etc).
A friend of mine has Peacock and Pluto TV as part of his Optimum/Cablevision package, Verizon FiOS offers Hulu as an option, and we'll probably see more of this in the future as various streaming services all struggle to survive on their own. It's entirely possible that most cable companies evolve into becoming launching platforms for streaming and Internet service providers to offer an integrated experience for people who don't feel like subscribing to and setting up dozens of different streaming services.
Theres nowhere near 100 streaming services.
