Yep, I actually really looked forward to them every time. Even the Batmobile races, because I enjoyed the Batmobile a lot more than most other people did.

I'm personally waiting for Metroid Prime 4 to see what my GotY might be. I'm a huge Metroid fan and I hope the wait for Prime 4 will be worth it.

Yeah, that was ridiculous, lol. I get they wanted to keep it a secret (even though it's incredibly obvious) but they could've just had a non-answer like "we cannot answer that."

There's some parts of the level that are completely indestructible, but with enough patience you probably can leave just the indestructible floors and walls. Would probably take an entire day to do one level that way though, and it all gets rebuilt if you leave it.

I did not know this at all.

I felt like I was almost alone in thinking that the story of City is just...meh. It's still a really great game and could easily be the best one, but I didn't like the story all that much. The thing that made me realize that was that I completely forgot that the story started with needing to stop Hugo Strange until like the last hour when the game decides "alright now we can stop him." It just gets derailed with the whole "Batman is infected with Joker's poisoned blood and has to find a cure" angle that takes him on a wild goose chase through the rest of the game.

By comparison I thought the stories of Asylum, Knight, and especially Origins were better and more solidly focused.

Kodaka says it's doing well enough that they're no longer in danger of shutting down due to bankruptcy, so that's good. He's even thinking about DLC and would like to support it for almost a decade if possible (probably not, but you know).

I'm in one of the Slasher routes and it turned into surviving a zombie outbreak in the school. Crazy how wildly different this one is in the same storyline.

That Midnight Gradient looks awesome, I can't wait to see what other gradient colors there are. As for me, I've been switching it up but my current color is that light blue color that I got in the Freezer Layer.

I always say to find more than one reason to buy a brand new console. For me it was enhanced Switch 1 game performance, Gamecube NSO, and this game + Mario Kart World that I really wanted and that was enough for me, but it might be different for you.

I'm at the junction that splits between a forest layer and a snowy layer. I finished the forest layer (what's the recent obsession with the "poisoned forest" aesthetic from Nintendo?) and am now doing the snowy layer. Man is the place making me hungry. It's entirely themed around ice cream and all sorts of related goodies. The "dirt" is hunks of chocolate sprinkles, the pathways are marked by chocolate bars, the houses look like ice cream scoops, and at the top of a mountain it's covered in sherbet.

Honestly not sure why Nintendo's averse to sound settings for their games these days. Sometimes what they think might be the perfect audio balance might not be the same for other players.

Case in point, for me the game's volume is just too low compared to other games I play, and the sound effects always overpower the music.

Man, it just keeps happening, doesn't it?

Unlike my first playthrough of Mario Odyssey, something about this game is keeping my interest enough to where I absolutely want to get all the gems and fossils before I move on to a new layer.

Beaver Bother is infamous but I don't remember having too much trouble with it. I think it's because I lucked out on the way to guarantee that the beavers fall into the hole. Because yeah, normally they have a tendency to veer away from it or refuse to fall in.

I still laugh thinking back when the producers said the movie would be out within a year after the previous one.

I don't think anybody actually believed that. Movies, especially with animation like that, take a lot of time.

At least I'm sure I just had one. Couldve been something else. All of a sudden I felt really hot, was sweating all over, and feeling weak and shaky. The only thing I really had before then was a sweet tea.

It went away when I finally decided to eat some protein like chicken. This isn't the first time this has happened to me, but it's a rare occasion.

You're probably right. Sometimes they get really salty when comparisons to other games are made but any piece of media is bound to have some kind of toxic portion to their fanbase.

I think I see why the topic was made. I consistently see takes like "oh it is revolutionary for the genre and has such gripping characters and story when all others don't" when...no. It's a really good game but it is not revolutionary, aspects of its story have been done before, and there's tons of RPGs that have well-written characters.

It's an (admittedly great) RPG that appeals to people who hate anime and won't want to touch RPGs as a result. The game can be praised without putting it on such a pedestal, however.

Eh, depends on if they can get the licensing rights again. I remember Sakurai saying it was a legal nightmare to get SSBU all ready to go in the first place before the DLC.

Nothing announced yet. Probably waiting for a Direct which is bound to come soon. They need to offer more info on their upcoming titles and I don't think they're gonna just delegate it to their Nintendo Today app (would be marketing suicide since it's not as widely used/seen as social media and the internet).

^I think it doesn't help that Final Fantasy hasn't ever been a particular difficult RPG franchise, so when one that actually requires strategy comes along it throws some people off.

It's why I think the Remake (soon to be trilogy) games' combat is so satisfying. It's a lot more than just execution, it's figuring out a strategy behind many of the bosses as well.

Game is not open world, so this must be a copy pasta or something.

This is more like DK64 except not as crazy with mandatory collectibles, and no unnecessary backtracking.

If the game has (minor) performance issues on Switch 2 then there's no way the game would've run well on Switch 1, lmao.

I'm only a couple worlds (layers) in but man, it really fulfills that stress-relieving urge to just destroy everything you can see. Haven't gotten this kind of thing since Hulk Ultimate Destruction.

I'm also really digging all the references and bonus room stuff. Came across a bonus room that was calling back to DKC1's first level in aesthetics, music, and level design. I really want an HD remake of the classic DKC trilogy now, lmao.

Nah, it's squarely an action RPG. Probably the most "RPG" version of an action RPG I've ever seen while still having complete control of your characters. The stats and especially build customization options really matter. Like sure you can brute force anything in the game (quite difficult though) but the RPG elements really do make a difference.

^Yeah those instances are an unfortunate side effect of creating shonen stories. The main character gets special treatment because he's the main character. Not very realistic in terms of storytelling potential. (And yeah they confirmed XC1 was supposed to be a shonen story.)

One thing that kinda bugs me, even though I like Shulk, is that Egil is compared in many ways to Shulk but it's like...Egil has actually lost loved ones? Shulk didn't. How can he possibly be the perfect person to understand where Egil is coming from then? He never gets any repercussions from his bad decisions either, him sparing Metal Face would've bitten him back hard if Metal didn't immediately get impaled conveniently by some piece of debris.

In comparison I really like the main cast of 3. Every character is equally as important as each other and pretty much get equal screen time (Noah and Mio a little bit moreso). The only thing special about them is the Ouroboros power, which is something that almost any person in the world could wield if they have aptitude, which is either randomly given or they undergo special training. Ouroboros power gives them the ability to easily overpower the Moebius, which are the villains of the world. The problem is only a select few can actually be Ouroboros at any moment so it's a small number against a larger force that can always "recruit" more, essentially.

I was super hyped for the idea of that little blue light being KOS-MOS, but I read it's more likely something related to X, which disappointed me immensely.

The ending of X DE has something similar-looking to that ending, but I have reason to believe it might not actually be the same thing since the planet actually does look a bit different.

The idea of a space opera is pretty cool to me. Definitely would hope to see a Xenoblade X sequel being essentially a planet-hopping space adventure, since Takahashi said originally it was supposed to be a spiritual successor to Xenosaga anyway.

What I find extra funny about this is how clumsy the administration is at handling this. Pam Bondi was likely told to give the "there's no list" narrative rather than coming up with it herself, so when she said it and pretty much nobody believed, now they're scrambling for other excuses while at the same time admitting that there is actually a list with how they're talking about it. (Like an official move to block the release of it.)

Lies and a coverup THIS fucking obvious should normally be worth investigating. Any other presidential administration wouldn't have gotten away with this. Not just from the people but at a federal level.
