Yes, they're actually referred to as the Three Shadows in this version of the game (which is actually a closer translation to the Japanese version, which refers to them as the Shadow Trio)

In this version Beldam outright refuses to refer to themselves as a group in any way that implies femininity -- purely to try to stick it to Vivian, who she doesn't regard as a sister and whose trans identity she does not support.

Not really; FO3 was too slow paced for me after having played 4, and this game feels almost exactly like 3.

If this is the sort of thing it takes to make someone's day "sad" they must have a pretty cushy life.

Didn't really care for it. The experience feels cheapened when you just farm up a bunch of rupees to get the vast majority of your new capabilities rather than traditionally finding them in dungeons.

It ended up having the same sort of problem as BotW and its sequel (except these games took it even further and just gave you all those capabilities in the "tutorial" section and then turned you loose): being a little too open-ended for its own good.

Yeah, I don't see much point in having the alarm in rooms that realistically won't ever have a fire start in them (assuming you don't do stupid crap like smoke indoors), unless your house is really really big or something.

We just have one in our kitchen.

People keep bringing up the controller because it sounds funny, but on a list of things wrong with the sub, it's way at the bottom (ba dum tsh). Game controllers are used for that kind of thing all the time.

Here's the thing though, it still looks like cheap shit for the endeavor being made, and that sort of thing is usually indicative of the quality of the rest of the product. Lo and behold, it was.

I never technically graduated though (went the far-easier GED route), so there isn't any reason I would be invited.

I haven't (and wouldn't), but the spouse has spent a tiny bit on Pokmon Go coins. They didn't mind showing a bit of support for the game.

I have no clue of the year, but I do remember that I had a hard time progressing the game at first because I kept hitting the wrong button at the "do you want to save" prompt (which counts as a "no" even if you have the cursor pointed at "yes", even though the game doesnt outright indicate this) and wondering why the game never saved and I kept having to restart from the beginning every time I died/quit.

Is Samus Returns the Remake?

It is a remake of Metroid 2 (the GB one)

I didn't care for it much (tbh I haven't cared much for the new "glass cannon" approach they've been taking with Samus, which basically started in Fusion... ZM and the Prime series are the last Metroid games I've liked) but it wasn't terrible or anything.

To Fusion's credit, even though it is the point where Samus starts taking ridiculous amounts of damage from almost everything, it is the game that still gives you the most energy tanks out of any Metroid game to sorta compensate.

TVtropes introduced me to asexuality and its associated community, which directly led to me meeting the person who's now my spouse, so no, I'd say it was quite valuable to me.

Not generally so; I'm only in a bit of a weird exception circumstance nowadays because my partner eventually came out as trans.

Killed by hardware, imo. It was either on a handheld or on an unpopular home console.

They did, and from my experience, they didn't do anything. The one I got back seemed to behave no differently than when I sent it in.

I think I'm generally nice enough. Not with "quotation marks", or with Capital Letters, or anything like that.

When the fanservice is to the point the creators clearly consider it one of its primary selling points, to me that says something about what they've created, and in my experience it usually isn't something good.

Eh, this feels unfair. I can go to a movie theater and expect people to behave, although the one I go to is upscale. I've been to shitty inner city Eastwick theaters, and god, they barely even have air conditioning.

There's quite a difference between complaints of behavior and complaints about... the sound of crunching popcorn, which is what this topic is about.

Popcorn is like the primary concession served at a movie theater. You know it's going to be there. By going to a movie theater, you are accepting that there will be a bunch of people in the room with you and most of them will probably be having popcorn. If you don't like that, there are other ways to view movies such that you don't have to.

Not as weird of a take as willingly going to something where you know there will be loads of people and then complaining about the loads of people, imo

Why do people go to see a movie where they know dozens of other people will be present watching it in the same room, and then bother to complain about noise?

People pay for this sort of experience, too. I've never understood it. It's one thing when it's something like airplane travel and it's necessitated, but this is a totally optional activity that's supposedly for leisure.

Meh, more of the same, and I didn't have much regard for the original.

If anything, one of the aspects I found very tedious in the first game (weapon durability/management) was made even worse in the sequel due to weapons being made overall even more brittle unless you took the time to fuse something to them.

For me it was Skyrim; Elden Ring pissed me off into quitting real quick
