This isn't even news. An AI doesn't "know" anything, it is just an aggregate of everything fed into it. So, if everyone is saying something is true then the AI isn't going to know any better.

AI doesn't think, it regurgitates.

Unfortunately google is using it for their algorithm and will boost sites with these misinformation which causes a cyclical misinformation rabbit hole where nobody cares to check the original source.

Let's break down the misinformation pipeline here. A quick Google search along the lines of "Switch 2 games $90" will inevitably bring up a Reddit thread from /Games titled "Nintendo Switch 2 Games Will Cost $80 For Digital, $90 For Physical." The post includes a link to an article from Insider Gaming, a website known as a source for video game leaks. Insider Gaming was among a small handful of sites to run with the story that physical Switch 2 games cost $90 early on. Websites like Forbes reported the same information on April 2 in an article that includes no source for the claim and even mentions the 90 Euro detail. The article has not been corrected in the week following its publication.

Insider Gaming, on the other hand, did change its article. If you go into that Reddit thread and click the linked story, you'll instead land on "Nintendo Switch 2 Games Will Cost Up To $98 For Physical Games When Converted From Euros." There's a correction midway down the article now, but that change isn't reflected in the Reddit thread that now dominates search results on the topic.

That telephone game only gets worse. Exacerbating the confusion is Google's own AI overview, a tool that dominates the top of the page when it populates. If you were to Google "how much are Switch 2 games?" right now, there's a good chance you will get an AI overview that tells you that physical games either could or do cost $90. In my current search results, Google says "Nintendo Switch 2 games are expected to be priced higher than previous Nintendo Switch titles, with many games potentially costing $79.99 or even $89.99." Other results I've seen cut the "potentially" entirely and say they "will" cost that much.

That information comes with a few links, citing where the news came from. A link on a blurb about the $90 price point goes to an article from Indy100, which says outright that Mario Kart World costs $90 with no source to back it up. Other cited links point to articles from Mashable and CNET. The latter actually debunks the $90 claim, but that hasn't stopped Google's AI for using it as a source to back up its faulty information.

The article is about the Switch 2 but it's clear that this has and will apply to a lot of things beyond just the Switch 2.

This generation of gaming hardware for Nintendo has been extremely interesting. The Big N saw an insane amount of success with the Switch, so much so that it made the platform undeniable to pretty much every studio out there. Microsoft has been cranking out games for Switch for years now, and within the last year, weve seen Sony start doing the same.
As Nintendo moves towards the Switch 2, it appears Sony is still thinking about Nintendo. A new survey is being sent out to PlayStation fans, and one portion of it is all about the Switch 2. In particular, Sony is asking PlayStation followers for their impressions of Switch 2, if they plan on purchasing one, and more. You can see the set of survey questions below.

Its certainly interesting to see Sony jump on this survey so quickly, and you have to wonder what their reasoning is. Are they simply gauging interest in order to keep an eye on the competition, or are they looking for data to see if they should bring a few of their titles over? Obviously the only ones who know the answers to those questions is Sony, and theyre not going to come clean anytime soon. Well just have to keep our eyes peeled for future game announcements to see where Sonys head is at!

tbf, for Kirby and Jamboree that's because it has the extra content which is basically DLC in addition to the base game. BoTW and DK is $70. Bravely Default is actually $40.
ToTK is still 70 though.

Gonna agree with him on this general take actually. It was progressives (and I'm referring to the obnoxious loudmouths mostly, some of which were more your CNN corporate talking shitheads than progressives) that lost their cool after the debate and decided to amplify all of Biden's weaknesses directly afterward, showing little mercy for his advanced age or his lifelong speech impediment. It was also progressives helping drive down his popularity even before the debate due to his age and his stance on Israel/Palestine. From the standpoint of someone that just wanted Democrats to stay in power, it very much looked like progressives were trying to undermine Biden's credibility just so they could say they were right about the DNC being wrong all along. I think there was a substantial part of the younger liberal population that were too begrudging to give him a chance to even earn their full support. This is without him making any policy blunders in consideration of the governmental makeup he inherited (say what you will about Afghanistan which no one was talking about anymore). For the most part, it's all because he couldn't speak eloquently and because he refused to take a stronger stance against Israel when it was not a popular move either governmentally or socially in the country. Then you get to election day and find out that many dumbshit common Americans haven't even been paying enough attention to know who the Democratic nominee is and go with the name that sounds recognizable. So yeah, the know-it-all progressives can take all that passion and shove it straight up their asses.

This is like blaming the progressives for Trudeau being viewed awfully prior to Trump's crusade.

I know exactly one (this is the Trumper), and I try not to make a habit of talking to him. I also know one who is pretty out of touch with world politics and likely doesn't really have an opinion.

Every single other Jewish person I know despises both Netanyahu and Trump and would like to see both of them in prison.
