I had some weird recommendations from Netflix for the next 12 months thanks to that.

Yep, Cherry 2000.

Pretty much yes.

I used to work for a company that did service in people's homes. I've seen the richest of the rich and poorest of the poor.

Funny thing about the rich homes - it was always 'Here is the code to the garage' or a lonely housewife who lived there. Those people live at their jobs. They make a ton of money, but don't spend any time at home.

Well, if you just mean 'Bad' - I'd go with Spiderman. It wasn't very good.

If by disappointing you mean I was actually looking forward to something amazing and was a little let down, I'd go with the Matrix.

The first movie was amazing. The second was ok - and at the time it was a real mind-blower. The third had some amazing moments - but the trilogy overall was a let down.

Part of it probably had to do with the change in the times over the movie's time period. The internet was barely a popular thing at the release of the first movie. By the third - pay phones were almost forgotten about.

A few years after I got my Nintendo I finally got the first Super Mario Bros. (standalone version), same as everyone else had at the time, it's by far the most common version, I didn't know even there were multi-carts until I was in my 20s when I found the Mario+Tetris+Football multi-cart in a second hand shop and bought it for Tetris, strangely seeing as that is the second most common version for some reason it's still not featured in this poll, lul wut?

I have literally never seen a standalone Super Mario Bros. before (and I shop in used game stores all the time) and for a long time I never knew they existed. Conversely, I've never heard of the Mario/Tetris/Football combo.

The stand-alone is far and away the most common. They used to sell them for $0.09 at Funcoland in the 90's / early 00's they were so common.

Also - participation in the Anthem isn't mandatory. You can choose to remain off the field for the anthem.

It would be fascism if they arrested a player who didn't stand.

In that era the great RPGs were mostly on PC. They generally weren't worth playing due to the loading times.

Once the Playstation came out - the loading times were as bad or worse than the PC.

There were some decent RPGs on the system, but the best games were on PC at that point. Heck, some of the 'best' games on PSX were ports of SNES - and they were much worse because of the awful loading times (Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Star Ocean, Ogre Battle, etc)

You are incorrect in this statement. True - some of them are dishonest. Most are not.

Think of it this way - would you rather pay someone more money to get something quickly done or less money and have them take forever?

Hell, even Wamart was still cheaper, so if you need it on the spot, Walmart is there.

The prices have nothing to do with them going out of business.

They were bought by a private equity firm who basically borrowed all the money to buy them and overpaid. Prior to being sold, Toys-R-us was profitable and making money.

That being said - it probably ins't very beginner friendly today. Back in the day it was one of the most amazing games in the 8-bit era.

From your selections - if you aren't into old-school RPGs - I would start with IX. It's probably the most friendly to start with. You can still pick your party's classes and it has most of the standard monsters/spells/etc - meaning it would make a good springboard to others.

did it happen at a school? yes. was it perpetrated by a student of that school? yes.

Was the shooter trying to kill students? No

Would we consider this a school shooting if he had gotten in the car with his parents and shot them 5 miles from campus? No

Guns / school shooting issues don't really play into this story. Could just as easily have been a kid knifing his parents when they came in the room, poisoning them when they got home, etc. He was going to off his parents - he wasn't going to shoot up the school.
