90% of my gaming is retro.

I have a NES mini I play all the time. SNES mini I play once in a while. I have actual arcade machines in my house I play once in a while. I play the switch (only modern console I own) once in a great while when my kids need some help.

In my experience, the Made In America items (I do a lot of purchasing in an industrial environment) are superior and readily available. Items made elsewhere (such as Europe) tend to be as good, but less available. When downtime = money lost, the USA versions win out every time.

History isn't important? Tf?

If my kid wants to study history - he can do it on his own dime with the understanding that I'm not supporting him after he graduates. As mentioned, many degrees serve no benefit other than being able to teach the same subject.

I have no problem paying for my kid's college - but it will be for something useful or not at all.

Kids today have TOO many requirements in high school to graduate. They are expected to know more than they needed to 20+ years ago. Everything has become specialized and most jobs are requiring extra education to compete.

Either lower the high school requirements and allow HS kids to take some free college (which can be done now - but because of the excessive class requirements there is very little opportunity) or allow three years of free community college post high school.

Very important - but there are very different college degrees.

I have made much more money with my associate's degree than I have with my bachelor's or master's (both in different subject areas) but the fact that I have a bachelors/masters has opened up (some) opportunities for me in my associate's field that wouldn't otherwise be available.

Trades pay very well (in some cases better than bachelor degrees), and many trade jobs can be obtained with an associate's degree or less.

Zero college? I know one guy who just retired at age 42 who has zero college - but he has been working the same job since he was 12 or so and was nearly the owner of the company a few years ago. It can be done, but it isn't the norm.

Racist jokes are often funny. And part of this has to do with their racism. Many Polish jokes, for example, may easily be converted into moron jokes but are not at all funny when delivered as such. Consider two answers to 'What has an I.Q. of 100? (a) a nation of morons; or (b) Poland. Similarly, jokes portraying Jews as cheap, Italians as cowards, and Greeks as dishonest people get on in the world. But they are less funny as such (at least if one is not Jewish, Greek or Italian). As this suggests, racist humor is 'put down' humor. We laugh, in part, because we find put-downs funny, sometimes even if they are about us. In many texts, this tendency is relatively harmless; indeed, within reason, it can be therapeutic to join others in a good laugh at oneself. Why, then, all the commotion about racist humor?

I don't see anything wrong with it, but I also don't seek it out. In my opinion, the worst people to have to deal with in life are those who are either 1) deeply religious 2) deeply entrenched in politics to one side or the other.

It becomes all they talk about, and I generally ignore both types of people unless I absolutely have to engage with them.

edit: pressed it. Nothing happened

It was worth a shot. Those outlets do have a shelf life of about 10 years. When you mentioned a bedroom and 1 bathroom went out - it was my first thought.

If you flip the breaker on/off, does anything turn on and off or does the breaker do nothing now? If it does nothing, then you likely have some issue with the breaker. If something is turning on and off, you probably have a bad GFCI or faulty wiring somewhere.

Depending on how new your home is, you might have a GFCI outlet in your bathroom somewhere. Sometimes, houses are wired where a whole series of outlets / lights are wired after the GFCI outlet and if it trips, it takes everything else down the line out.

See if you can find one and press the 'reset' button:
