Michelin Tires in Paris came out with a hotel and restaurant guide book 120 years ago. The idea was that people in Europe would drive more if they knew what restaurants to go to. More driving = More tires. When the book became more popular, it became its own thing, and transitioned into fine dining ratings.

Michelin GUIDE restaurants are typically either:
a) really really really good for its value,
b) didn't get a star, but honorable mention based on cuisine type.

Almost all of his movies are appealing. I honestly believe one should try to watch movies in chronological order so that they can appreciate how movies have progressed and evolved over the years. In fact, many people consider Memento, one of his earliest works, but arguably his least ambitious, to be among his best.

I feel like that's a little too far-reaching. If that's what woke is, that's what woke is. If being not-racist, not-sexist, or not-transphobic is woke, then literally every movie or show to feature a member of an underrepresented group is woke (including the previously mentioned Forspoken).

The Marvels is literally an example of being so benignly woke, but getting a ton of flak. (OH NOES, 3 female superheroes !!!) They literally had no political messages, and it still got rammed as being the most woke movie of all time.

No, the Marvels sucked because meh acting, bad writing/ bad pacing, and bad character development. It wasn't because it was woke.

BTW, Usher's Super Bowl performance is the perfect example.
A bunch of right-wingers said Usher was trash, and likened it to woke broke crap.

Everyone else thought Usher was fucking amazing, and praised his showmanship and style.

Same thing happened when Beyonce released Renaissance and Lemonade albums, and a bunch of people hated how 'black' it was.

It's getting to the point where anything mainstream that sounds too much like R&B is considered 'woke'.

No, it was always a family night sitcom. 1-2 times per season, they'll have a 'serious' episode that deals with social issues like drug use, deadbeat fathers, white racism against blacks, black on black racism, Carlton's Republicanism, etc.

Spider-Verse movies are among the wokest of all of the superhero franchises, and one of the best and most successful. Black Panther as well. Big budget movies off the top of my head:

2300 is a LOT by the way. If you're trying to cut.
Try to target 1200. It's doable. But requires mindfulness.

The calories aren't the problem at his weight. He doesn't need to lose any more weight. It's the lack of nutrients that he's getting for those 2300 calories. The crappy sugars are the main problem that I see.

I'm still not eating very well, but working on it. Feel like I'm already beginning to see some changes in my physique, though very subtle ones. I wanna be thin but ripped. Averaging around 2300 calories a day. 98g sugar, 82g protein, 267g carbs, and 99g fat. Seem to have lost a couple pounds (140 to 138ish), but I need to commit to pushing that sugar down and eating more protein. Struggling with the protein in particular, may have to start busting out the protein shakes.

You are already 138 lbs. You're not gonna lose much weight anymore, and you shouldn't be concerned about it.

Worry more about muscle fitness and healthy eating. You'll probably gain weight as you get more ripped.

Nope. Shake Shack and Five Guys are the only exceptions. Shake Shack is considered gourmet fast food. And Five Guys is only $20 in places like Times Square, and other high-value locations.

Everywhere else, fast food meals are $7-$15.

Ahhh, gg. Honestly, I think you're paying too much of a premium for 8 ounce bags. If you eat salads on a regular basis, the 16 ounce bags make more sense, and should be cheaper, due to bulk.

I agree. That's why the salad that I was proposing was 7 ounces of grilled chicken, mixed greens, carrots, tomatoes, etc. Instead of iceberg lettuce, use any combination of greens (spinach/kale/arugula/romaine/etc.) that you prefer.

8 ounces (typical size of a double patty) is big enough for a single burger. And yeah, basically all fast food joints sell double patties for around $5-$8. Only Shake Shack and Five Guys are a little more, and that's because Five Guys offers 7438290749 free toppings.

Any more, and you're talking about the big patties that they serve in sitdown restaurants and Irish pubs.

No. Bags of salad mix are almost always 16 ounces or more.
But I agree, that even 20 ounces is a lot of value. Which is why I said that the government would subsidize the cost for us. And I am pretty sure that most people would still prefer the burger.

When you have surge pricing for bread, the have nots' problems are only exacerbated. They just won't be able to afford bread, resulting in literal bread lines waiting for everyone else to finish buying bread, costing time, time that they could spend at work or looking for work or doing something otherwise productive. Surge pricing simply should not be supported by anyone ever anywhere.

Ah, so the difference is in the product/ service being offered, then. Bread is a staple food that can be bought at any time, though.

So the real question should be, "Is fast food considered a necessary staple product, or a luxury item that you can dynamically price for time?"

wow, that's some story. How did they even know about the 150? Do most of you think this is wrong making servers split their tip with others?

a) Read the story again. The person who gave the tip announced to the entire restaurant that they were only giving it to the poster.
b) What he did was wrong in most cases -- refusing to put the tip back in the 'communal jar' is a fire-able offense in almost all restaurants. The idea is that everyone else has been splitting their tips to him for the entire time. So there might be days where the same could've happened to him, but he received the benefit of said tips without deserving it. I'm sure there are some extreme exceptions, but if this was sort of a 'last-straw' thing.

This is an extremely big issue. Restaurant feuds have blown up because of servers stealing, under-reporting, or trying to fudge the numbers. Because of this, restaurant managers are typically very vigilant in tracking tips, etc. Everyone is eyeballing the fuck out of each other to make sure that nobody is trying to fuck with tips.

No. The tip gets split among waitstaff, porters, dishwashers, and oftentimes cooks. If cooks do not get tips, it's because they're being paid a guaranteed salary that's higher than the others.
